As I've said to Furi in pm's...

Imo all the cars should be run at the same power and weight

Let the different drivetrains, driving styles and set-ups provide the variety đź‘Ť

Well all cars have their strengths and weaknesses:

BMW: Nimble cornering, but a little underpowered and prone to spinning out
Honda: Fast, but cooks tyres...
Lexus: Fast top speed, good cornering, but lacks torque
Mazda: Very quick, good grip, but has a massive wheelbase

And tonight has proven that everyone is even. In Season 1 BMW were left behind, Mazda destoryed Honda who were stuck in the middle. Come raceday it will be interesting.

Also there is a bigger field, so things will be mixed up.

I reckon it's pretty damn good at the moment. Like I said, wait until Saturday. Let the Nordschleife sort the men from the boys. Races are on the in-game time 1200, 1600, and in the evening gloom at 2000.

Ok mate, so BMW @1140 and 270 it is?

I'll get cracking on a set-up and some much needed practice

I was shocking tonight :ouch:

Tune the LSD to eliminate wheelspin. Then you won't be a mobile smokescreen :dopey:

Ok Driftking & Cunny. How about us Mazda boys share a few setup settings with each other to see what works best on each race of the season. First race is at the Green Hell how about we PM each other our settings to try and gain an advantage over the other teams?

Just my OPINION, but based on the practice session earlier
My pre-series prediction is that the Mazda's are the favorites
with Honda's & BMW's just behind.
Lexus' didn't show much promise.
(Maybe could use more power with races regulated
by weight, as well as HP- around 310hp)
Give input, if you agree.
Perhaps we can convince Mr.M(Fur)

Reigning Champ - driftking18594 looked good.
cunny17 & The_Boyce; both drove strong enough to battle him for the title.
And Jamie_STEEZ, I thought was strongest in the BMW.

Definitely not taking anything away from anyone, anyone could surprise.
Looks like it'll be a tough, fun series.

Hi :) Whilst I'm going with the flow at the moment, if my my 270bhp BMW gets left behind by the sheer
speed of the others at the Nordschliefe, I'll be lobbying hard to be given some more bhp :D

I'am going to have to switch to the mazda. That lexus is was too slow. No torque. No pull out of the corners. This could happen to the bmw too.

These cars can easily be made equal by setting a average PP. If you add up the PP from all the cars then divide it by how many cars are in the series (4) you come up the average PP. For these cars it should be around 490 if I'm remembering correctly. The lower cars will gain some and the faster will lose a little. But they will be much more competitive. Will one still be better than the other. Probably. PP is the great equalizer.

More practice runs and warm up races before the season starts adjusting the pp to get it pretty even across all the cars is needed. Once the power issue is sorted and all cars weigh the same it's simply down to the driving skill on the day and individual car setups. If we all have each other on our friends list we can fit in a lot of practice time whoever is online at the same time.

I have just sent fr's to all concerned:idea:đź‘Ť

I'll get another room up tonight. I think we are ok to be honest at the moment. All the cars are a lot closer than they were before. One suggestion I have is limiting the Power to maybe 300 or 270 (The BMW's power). This again is in line with real regulations. Maybe try that tonight?

Still need to bear in mind the unavoidable tyre wear on the longer stretch for us Honda boys if we pull out an early advantage and thats IF them Mazdas look pretty hot we will no doubt be hunted down in the latter laps:sly:

From experience I can tell you a lot about the Honda - I drove it to 1 win in season 1. It is for the first 1/2 of a race amazingly quick, but it cooks it's tyre and has poor brakes. The Mazda is very good on tyres as well...

EDIT: Apparently 300hp is the max allowed output for a touring car.. or at least it used to be.

Well stuck with it now theres always series 3 for a change!!!

Its all i got mate other than the Lexus but that struggled if something pops up in UCD will see, catch u later:tup:

Any thoughts on the Alfa 155 this is one of my personal fav tc not sure if it would fit in, in the future maybe series 3??đź’ˇ

I did 2 laps last night at the ring offline and under the rain my best time was 8:45

For now looks fine

I'm all sorted with a car now thanks to johnboy so can you sign me up pls if there's a spare space

Just because the cars have the same HP and the same weight does not mean they are equal at all. Every car in the game has different down force, wheelbase, gear ratios, etc. That's why they implemented PP.

Lower the max HP to 300. If we all weigh the same but we have 300 hp and you have 270, you'll still be counting on a wreck to gain positions. That's what happened to me yesterday in the Lexus. I never passed anyone unless they were wrecking.

@ gik - which car?
@ Sassafrass - Tonight we'll do some testing all at 280hp

This does make a lot of sense... I did overlook this, when thinking of raising power. I'm actually kind of surprised the BMW is only 270hp, cause they were still very competitive.
Sass makes a good point too... Maybe it's PP that should regulate. As it would take into account the drivetrains. Cause your right, the Hondas maybe quick, & successful on this practice "sprint" races but we will struggle on the Full Series Races. Though no changes "have" to be made, it was still very close racing on the practice.
(Maybe the Lexus just needs more precise transmission tuning; very short gears, a short final drive.... Try to make sure you hit redline in 6th gear at the end of the straights.)
