How should pre-qualifying be for TOCA7?

  • Keep the TOCA6 Quali Race format, it's fine.

  • Run a regular quali session instead for positions 13 downwards.

Exactly Spurgy. Stupid idea ;).

Multi tyres only work in enduros, like one per the faster compound and the rest on the slower one.

A race won with no skill just cause you got tyres that are 2 seconds faster than everyone else... Please..

the 2 tyre rule will mean that anyone who's at the front who's out of position just puts on RM's and goes on to win the race

Tomorrow I am going to test out all the cars and specs throughout the day one last time to finalise, feel free to drop along and help.

Also Clubman's gonna be dropped and Laguna and Indy will keep their slots.

Michelin Racing back for TOCA7

Headquarters of Michelin Racing, São Paulo, Brazil.
20th December 2011, 22:42 (GMT -2)

Matheus Michelin, owner of Michelin Racing, has just hold a press conference at the team HQ about his plans for next season of TOCA.

"It was a good season with James as a teammate, but I've felt that it was better that we went separate ways. And with the departure of Volvo for next season, I was again looking for a car to drive. BMW sent me a real good offer to drive one of their cars for next season, and I gladly accepted it. I've already some testing at some of the venues of the next season and it was really easy for me to finish the deal with them."

Alain Prost Racing Makes TOCA Their New Home

---
Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, Indiana.
December 20, 2012 - 18:17 (GMT-8)

Alain Prost Racing team boss Ghs Killa has expressed his content with TOCA and stated his future plans with the series in a press conference held at Indianapolis after his knockout in qualification.

"Sure, Indy was a disappointment," he noted, "but there is something with TOCA that makes us want to stay. The BMW is a good car, and we believe we have a shot for the Independents championship next season. Our main goal right now is to establish a name for ourselves in the current season, but next season we will be working hard to consistently finish high in the field. APR has now officially become a subsidiary of ATI Management, an experienced Formula One team, and we hope to take some of their experience in race management and data collection to prepare ourselves to the new season ahead. We look forward to a long and prosperous future with TOCA."

Well I guess Extreme Racecars will have an announcement by the end of the year.

On the subject of tyres...I think 2 compounds would work, but only if the length of race makes it impossible to go through with RM's.

As the current format stands, the races are too short for that to happen, so you'll never catch up 30 seconds for a pitstop.

I'm not sure the TOCA sprint races lend themselves to tyre saving though. Has anyone done full distance tests yet?
