How should pre-qualifying be for TOCA7?

  • Keep the TOCA6 Quali Race format, it's fine.

  • Run a regular quali session instead for positions 13 downwards.

Did a testing today at Cape South. (all cars except the Infiniti due to sudden Family visit)

Results and little comment:

Mini ---> 1:21.040 // for me maybe high 20´s possible but was already at my maximum. Mini has so little power at topend only did 205kph at end of straight
=> weight changes can´t help her getting faster plus you have to short-shift a bit to get more acceleration.
For low speed Tracks she is fine but at Monza/Fuji/Spa/Indy she gets annihilated (IMHO)

Swift ---> 1:21.587 // low 21´s would be my maximum for her. 216kph at end of straight and fastest Car for me though. Only 5 gears and tricky handling plus Understeer and too much poowweerr which she can´t handle (my opinion)

Honda ---> 1:21.301 // probably a luck lap from me couldn´t match the Time again. Maybe dead 21´s for me with more setup time input.

Mazda ---> 1:20.849 // probably I can shave off a few tenths but drives ok for me.

VW ---> 1:20.776 // Very fast, easy to drive and almost no understeer. Could be my number two pick after the Infi Concept. First FWD pick by far though.

Audi ---> 1:21.047 // Although no torque splitter very little understeer. Drives good and off the line probably hard to beat because AWD ;)

BMW ---> 1:21.327 // Although the highest amount of PL usage I can´t get her to pace. Smooth through turns but where is the Power ?? only 206 kph at end of straight. Well again a no pick for me maybe it´s just me.

I will test the Infi at Cape too but at the moment my suggestion would be slow down the VW and the Mazda a bit to get them closer together.
And If you struggle with Tire-Wear your Settings are a bit weak and you´ll need a tweak ;)

@Paul: Well I am no way near to be a pace setter ;)
I know I can substract atleast 1 second of my times (thats the normal gap between Spurgy and me atleast that was the gap during all GT Academy rounds xD).
But If I am fast in Car X Spurgy (example for a really really fast Racer) will be even faster in the same Car ;)
And I only did a quick run in every Car (two times 4 laps => that isn´t called a test it´s just a quicky => with more input I can be faster too :D)

Well as said did a testing with the Infi Concept too:
1:20.771 (same settings for Lounge and RM´s)// felt good and still a beast of the line.

My testing times (Cape South):

Suzuki - 1:21.4 (1:21.1 possible, understeer kills it a little, Now has Stage 3 Weight)
Infiniti - 1:20.5 (Just sooo balanced to drive)
BMW - 1:21.9 (Feels lazy, sluggish, and boring)
Mini - 1:20.8 (Makes up 0.3 in last sector on infiniti. Chassis is amazing. Now has Stage 3 weight)

EDIT: Conbon has just gone 0.5 quicker in the BMW.

Which TOCA7 track should be used for the main artwork - like the above TOCA6 has Spa? I have pics for all except for Fuji (which i'll get tonight) and Nurb (hopefully tomorrow)

Your mirror still gives a cracked picture of you. :P

Why are the tyres in the middle of the road?
