Crap, I'm down to 18th. At least I got chicken and cheap German beer.

Dax humour. We will iron out the bad jokes some day...

By the way received not one pm about Saturday, so very happy with that. Only issue I had was indirectly addressed.

I'm watching the replays as of this moment, and I stupidly pitted for Inters in R1 because of lack of grip, thinking I had Medium tyres, even though I already had Inter tyres fitted in who wasn't working at their best because the track wasn't damp enough :dunce: (which means what I wrote in the room during qualy was true after all... if you pit and change tyres without leaving track at any moment you keep your position as determined by your best laptime) 👍

Apart from the fact I ended up higher in the overall rankings, my Monza weekend was basically a pile of <insert expletive here>. Immediately after start of qualifying, the rain set in, and miraculously I managed to do the best first lap of everyone out early (2:00.2), which I managed to improve by a tiny margin in the second lap, although it was already too wet for sub 2-minute laps by my standards by then. I was pretty sure noone could go faster in the wet conditions, and was therefore praying for the rain to stop in time for the race. Well, no such luck. What I should have done, is change to inters, but I thought it would only have an effect when you exit to the lobby and therefore lose your time when you return to track to start the race. Well, when you're on pole, it's hard to let go. (I'm pretty sure changing the tyres in free run didn't have an effect for the race last year in Spa, though)

So I started race 1 on pole, and saw an Audi flash past while I was seemingly still stationary on the grid. Managed to stay towards the front through the first chicane, but then my slicks just weren't providing the grip necessary and I had multiple offs. After I pitted, I was dead last. Managed a 10th after I had settled into the rhythm.

The second race everyone was on full wets, of course, and that was in principle my best race. I managed to move up the order and stayed pretty close to Rolo in 2nd/3rd for most of the race, and should have at least managed a 2nd, but one mistake dropped me back to Dax, who I had a nice fight with until I made another mistake and ended up in 7th.

Race 3, everyone starting on slicks in drying conditions. Somehow I was still in wet mode, and that didn't do me any good on an already almost dry track early in the race. I was braking way too early and additionally got held up in a couple of battles. When I finally found my dry-rhythm again, the race was almost over and I was nowhere near contention. 7th again.

Looking back, I think this was my worst showing in TOCA so far. I guess I have to file it under "damage control".

>insert troll face<

I actually looked back and thoght noone was moving  I even shouted out "Good Bye!"

if you look at the tables dax is doing the neljack way of winning the championship, lots of 2nd places with 0 victories

If I had an oppertunity to qualify in the 1st race (Damn you dinner!) or actually started where I qualified in the 2nd one (Damn you, tyre change!) it might be a different story.

@ R2, 3 drivers we're doomed with their tire selection at the very start, isn't that right Furi and Chris? I choosed the same tires than they did, and atleast before my disconnection, they proved to be the worst decision.

Chris eventually switched to Rain tyres, but Furi held on and since it stopped raining during the race and the track started to dry very quickly, he was the fastest on track by the time the race ended...

I was under the same strategy of Furi, but while battling with Fox on the 3rd chicane, my PS3 decided that it would be fun to troll me.
