After the backlash of "599 US dollars"? No chance. The next gen consoles will be much cheaper than PS3.

Cheaper than Wii U maybe?

Does not compute Simon. Would be nice though.
Maybe if it were to go subscription based with cloud storage etc.

Like I said in the other thread there is still a small chance but I'd think they need to have it revealed by the end of the year but even that's pushing it.

Or maybe they plan to release it near the end of this year or early next year? Making that clear now might be perceived too much of a risk.
I'm not one to rely on every word Kaz says but he did say it might arrive sooner than GT5 did, what if for once these don't turn out to be hollow words and he's trying to meet that target?

So far, major games have indeed been announced long before they're launched and for new or largely unknown game franchises a game show is a perfect way to announce them, but this formula isn't set in stone, especially with Kaz seemingly sensitive to all the flak he received prior to GT5 being launched.

Maybe with the GT5/PS3 base already established he thinks it isn't necessary to announce when exactly GT6 is coming long before it happens, we all know they're working on it and even postponed major GT5 support apparantly.
Instead of slow building hype they might go for a 'shock and awe' approach this time, who knows?

Or maybe I'm just clutching at straws here.

I meant cheaper than PS3 at launch. $400 sounds about right to me. No way it'll be MORE than $599, there is no reason it would be going by the rumoured specs.

As somone pointed out with the ps3 having ground breaking technology at the time makes a good point but unless we see major advances with the ps4 whats the point in having one? Is the general thought the ps4 will only be slightly better than the ps3?
Sort of like Apple do with the I Phone X and then Xs ?

More RAM, DX11 graphics, faster processor. But technology has moved on, it doesn't cost that much to produce these things anymore. I mean to the consumer we can have 8GB of system RAM for £40 nowadays, as an example. PS3 has 256Mb of system RAM.

Keep in mind though, that the latest graphics card are pricey. But yes, memory, processor, and blu-ray tech shouldn't cost as much now.

Other than that, if the X86 rumor is true, I can only imagine it being weaker than the cell in terms of processing power because the cell is just beast like that lol. Although the rumor is more unknown, I hope the rumor about advancement of the cell is true. Plus, the rumored pair of graphics card isn't exactly amazing either. I figure if they really want to jump in graphics, they're going to have invest a bit more on better graphics cards.

Excuse me for my ignorance but when I hear/read all this computer talk I get that blank vacant stare just like I get when my missus talks about clothes. So I cant understand the advantage of it yet.

I understand that this will mean bigger smother games but wont that also extend develop time considerably.

And Ive still not seen the Ps3 (IMO) taken to the limits, sure ive noticed screen tear and such on GT5 but nothing to the extent of say San Andreas on the PS2 in terms of when you're travelling so fast it cant load surroundings quick enough and you end up with blurred textures.

Lol. Made me laugh. I'm the same as you.
When she asks does my bum look big in this just reply no.

Reminds me of the Taliban house wife. "Does my bomb look big in this".

I keep refreshing the joystiq.com for the latest news from the TGS, but alas, still nothing about GT. I was hoping maybe something would have been trumpeted with all the Vita and extra slim PS3 stuff.....

I don't expect much, maybe a trailer, but unlikely. I do, however, expect 6 on the ps3, as it's already in the testing phase.

It would have been nice to see something on the Vita. This is the big show before Christmas and Sony have made some effort to lift the Vita with quite a lot of good looking titles this week. With GT being one of the biggest PS franchises it seems like a huge missed opportunity. The Vita has got lots of power coupled with mobility and a modern update to even GTPSP would have been great, it would have actually made me want to buy into Vita.

I don't expect GT6 for another few years (On PS4).

And neither should anyone else.
I have been saying the same EXACT thing. Some people just can not remember the track record of PD taking 5-6 years to produce GT5. PD takes a long time to produce games. GT6 will not be out anytime in the near future. Anyone thinking this is in denial. I seriously dont even expect it to come out on the PS3. I am thinking next gen for sure. I would bet on it but last time I bet and won, the person didnt pay.

I'm not expecting anything about new games. I'm just hoping there's some news on any final updates for GT5

Don't waste your time. The Sony Press Conference was last night and was extremely boring. Nothing about GT or PD mentioned and it was almost all Vita games besides the new Slim.

Hey, has the TGS even started yet. The official website says Business days are 20th(Thursday) -21st September and public day on 22nd-23rd, so why does everyone seem disappointed? There's still 2 days for an announcement of some sort.

And IMO, GT6 will be launched on the PS3. Sony just revealed the PS3 Super Slim which means there is still plenty of life left in the PS3. Otherwise they wouldn't have even bothered with a new model. And because there is plenty of life left in the PS3, GT6 will be revealed on it.
Here's a link to the new Super Slim PS3.

I hope you're right @Rushton1996. :nervous:

I have the same hope. But now, in the middle of all this silence... it's hard to believe...

PD may be preparing the biggest surprise ever.💡

Or not. :scared::indiff:

It's odd really. I really hope Kaz wasn't lying on his word about GT6 not taking as long. Why disappoint everybody and keep the game in the shadow again?

They're really letting Forza get through them easy, because one man fears to reveal one thing, or anything for that matter... He should know GT isn't that special, especially if you don't talk about it that much to let fans know about. It's sad I say, really sad to have the game back in the shadow again if nothing is said.

IMHO, "not taking as long" means around 2 years... or the same ammount of time that it took from GT3 to GT4, to expand content, on the same console.

That would take us to the end of this year... Q1 2013 maximum, still on the PS3. It's what make sense for me, to use the whole PS3 installed base and make GT6 sell more than GT5 in months. That would be possible, but to make this happen, they should be talking about it already. "Hey, look: a new slim PS3, we are going to have a nice racing game for you, late adopters"...

Kaz said that they won't tell about releasing dates again, but completely hiding in the dark in these days it's just odd... weird. Or it can be old school japanese fashion... let's work like a ninja, and surprise our "enemy". (FM)... until now, doesn't seem to be working... :(

Not answer by Kazu :nervous:

But, I believe see Gran Turismo 6 on PS3 in 2013 or early 2014.... Sony had revealed new PS3 Slim, PS4 not released before Q2/Q3 2014

If it's 2013 then yes, I'd agree PS3 is likely, but if it's 2014, I can't see a single reason why it wouldn't be on PS4.
