Sorry about my lack of input of late, haven't had much time to do anything. Will make an effort to pop back more often.

Stumpy, what i can say, loving it as always :D

LamboLP640, looking nice, i think you've used a few too many lines though. Try limiting the number of lines you use e.g. you don't need lines where two blocks of colour meet.

fideles, that's a pretty smart vector, loads of detail đź‘Ť Could use a bit more variation in colouring on the car itself, but otherwise very nice.

Here's what i've been working on since Christmas: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/47336814/

Now starting to think about writing tutorials. Check out the poll on the right of this page. Seems like the community wants me to make two new tutorials :P Better get started...

donbenni, that is awesome. i need to learn how to use illustrator, i do my vectors on photoshop, anyways thanx for the pointers. đź‘Ť

replacement of the one that started it all :D illustrator pwns!

iv had some people copying the style, i dont mind if they credit but when they claim it all theirs its a bit annoying :grumpy: oh and dB i see that kid that took our work has been banned :D

it says ORDER AND PROGRESS, exactly what we need down her in Brazil...lol.

edit: my jaw just dropped as i saw ur maserati. i am doing the Total Training fo Illustrator now, hopefully i get as good as you đź‘Ť

How in the world do you guys do such awesome looking vehicles? I've tried doing this to my truck and it looks like something a 3 years would draw.

all i can really say is illustrator and a lot of patience heh. i dont think its really THAT hard its just if ur willing to put the effort into looking over details.

i'll post screenshots occasionally until i'm done; large pic is most recent. So look for a lot of updates to this post. This is being done in Flash Professional 8. The reason for flash, is its relatively faster in flash than in Illustrator - I have experience in both programs, its just a simple preference. Thanks for viewing & as always - comments appreciated :)

suzq - Sweet, an Impreza, I'm looking forward to how it'll turn out. Looks great so far.

Blazin - I've been drinking and am bored so I'm going to try and vector your truck...it's been a year + since I've done one and I was never very good so we'll see what happens...

Looks good suz, I'm thinking this guy is glad he hired the 2 of us right about now. He seems happy with what you've done so far. He's pretty stoked about what i've got as well.

Good luck with the rest of it, it's looking pretty good. Flash is a good program to use when it comes to that stuff, the lines are easily manipulated.

Damn Suz, some fine linework going on there đź‘Ť I've seen other people's work from Flash and have to say that it looks to be a very competent program. Will wait expectantly for this to be finished.

Here's my latest project. I'm going to create a poster of John Frusciante including some text like some lyrics or something like that. I'm applying for some design jobs soon, so want to make sure that my portfolio has some variation to it (currently 90% cars...)

Here's an older toon i did of him wearing similar clothes and with same guitar. I'm also using the same palette for the new image, so it should hopefully look like a progression on a series.

The image is being created in Photoshop, but i'm creating it using 100% vector tools, so the image is scalable. Going to upload the file to Cafepress when it's done and get a copy of the poster for my wall :)

Any thoughts so far?

cool - are you doing a dif. photo? the one in the wherehouse?
Yeah I put the car in the warehouse, of course it was in the carshow just like the picture you are refrencing from. My picture is done and he has told me he sent the check, I will let you know if the payment is really recieved, that'll be a good indication of wether or not you'll be getting paid for you work as well.

So you all know what i'm talking about, this is the picture i'm talking about, I hate when people start talking about another picture and do not bother posting it. This is the car we both have worked on for the owner.

The real picture is 3072x2048, plenty big. FYI, copyrights won't be an issue because it's been taken care of.:sly:

Lastly, great job Donbenni, I never really have had luck with doing skin tones in vector form. Can't wait to see the end product.

That Impreza is nice!

I'm liking the extra detail you've put in there Donbenni. đź‘Ť

didnt realize u photoshopped it first -- or am i misreading? I thought that was the original - i was gonna say i want the rest of that series. Speaking of which - the guy should be able to afford someone who can take a decent photo of a car! :dopey:

PS: updated original post for my progress.. it apparently takes me a lot longer than it takes you :dunce:
I will also be dong the lenses by hand [coloring with the brush tool in flash]like i did with the Nismo R34 [see signature]
