its because its parked in front of a white garage door.. the light is coming from there as well as above.. :irked:
 
@ Suz: I was hoping to see the other angle of this, and it's looking lovely so far. The lighting/reflections look fine. Shame about the F1, was really looking forward to seeing that one complete :( Still getting over the loss, sorry :P

Here's my latest on the Golf. For those of you who've now seen the photo, the toon is kinda gonna be half the same and half different to the photo. Don't like some of the lighting (on the photo).

Excellent. Only flaw I can spot is how the front wheel arch looks cut off at the top. Other than that it looks perfect.
 
that looks awesome only thing i can see which looks wierd is where the rear wing used to be looks like there is a chunk missing :dunce:

anyway its not street legal! no mirrors! :P

donbenni, I just love how this is turning out.

See you fixed the front arch. 👍 Only thing I can think of is that I miss some high saturated red areas on the side, I prefer adding some kindof how it looks on the front fender under the bumper. But that's mabye what you intend to do with finishing the lighting?
 
DB. when you are finished with it, could you post a 1600*what ever size picture with a white background? I think it looks so good the way it is. Thanks. :)
 
Just a small thing Don, but that light red-ish part on middle of the front lip makes the paintjob looks matte. Other than that, it r0x0rz. 👍

The light does look very niiice, perhaps the main lens could do with some sharp lighting as well as the brushing?

The wing looks nuts, hoping the rest will be as detailed as you say it will be :)

lol neither do mine, imo most mirrors ruin the flow and shape of the design. also most of mine dont have door handles or badges not that i cant do em but it makes the car a lot smoother 👍

i'll do that jag when i get time.. i posted that like .. 2 days ago :lol: now i have finals to gear up for.. no pun intended.
 
A lil' update. The front is pretty much done, I'm working on the hood right now. Estimated 40-45% finished in total.

[edit] The mesh is only temporarily. Anyone got some suggestions for a nice mesh?

Looking good!

For the mesh, you could try creating a pattern of your own in a honeycomb style, works quite nicely and looks pretty crisp. Personally, i'd say just leave it out though, i can hardly see the mesh on this one and think it might look nice just without. Try it with a good lighter mesh pattern though and see :)
