Well, how about try topping the FF or FR leaderboard instead of the Overall one?
Edit: Hmmm…I think I may be stressing the rules a lot by suggesting this, but how would everyone feel if we had 3 chances in each category, so 12 chances in total?
Edit 2: HotRodKing, instead of getting a new car, how about try adjusting the gearbox to give you more acceleration, that should give you an edge when exiting corners and hopefully be enough to put you back on top.
Edit 3:I just realised that it is a race car, so it easily has the potential to win overall. It does have a FC transmisson, suspension and diff right? Cuz if it does, then what I'd do is get some advice on tuning it properly and then try afterwards.

I support getting chances in every category and as for being a fin and fast I must say I really like the tgtt and thats probably what makes me fast :-)

If we're going to roll with 3 chances per cat. my FR is

Silvia spec-R AERO (S15) '99 1:18.933

Car - 20,269
Oil - 250
Racing AF - 450
Cat - 500
ECU - 1,000
Sports Muffler - 1,500
Wing - 1,000

Total - 24,969

Haven't found a good contender for FF yet.. That beatle seems so fast, maybe I could get it with a good prelude if one pops up =)

Good luck guys :)

Well I did look to tune it after a few test laps, but the funny thing is, it only has a 6 speed close ratio box, meaning you can't change the ratios. It also does not have the full customize suspension, but rather one of the lesser ones (not sure which offhand) that lets you change camber, ride hight, toe, anti roll bar and a more simple shock absorber tune. I did get a lot out of tuning it, but I feel like even the best of drivers would not be able to get it to less than 1:18.000

Damn you were lucky to find a cheap evo, it must have like 360bhp :-) my VI only has 337

Edit: btw you had money left to get a sportsflywheel for the evo :-) it might be worth .1 of a second

Lol, it has nearly 390hp actually, so the fact that you still have the lead is quite amazing, and also a sign of how appalling a driver I am

You might be having too much power for crappy road tires (SH) if you have that much power.. might have been better off without engine stage1 and fixed sport suspension to get the power down in the corners :-)

Hmm…you could be right…but these are the same tires that got the camaro around, and we know how crap the tires on that car is. But I'll give it a shot, if i could find one that's dirt cheap.

I am close to getting into 1'17s with the Beetle cup car.
And I did 1'17.9 with a Lancer

hmm…1:17.9 in a lancer…which one? And how much did you spend on it? If you what to be posted on the leaderboard, can you be just that little bit more specific, especially when GT5 has an obsession with Evo's, STI's, GTR's and MX5's.

I think possibly a video to support as there are no costs or anything put down and just seems a bit iffy...could be wrong!

Well, it's best to be safe, so if he's still following the thread, he should put a video put as you said.

I don't know what he had I meant yours (onboy). Sorry for being a bit unclear on that..

Btw I have a intresting fwd car coming up so stay tuned :-D

I might try again soon with the Beetle and change up my driving line a little to try to get closer 1:18.000

I did get an '02 WRX STI and might try to get top 5 in 4WD.

Also, upon sorting all cars on mygranturismo.net by price, the only two race cars are the Beetle and the Nissan mm-R Cup Car '01. The best car other than Evos/STIs and that is FR looks to be the Chevy Camaro SS '00. I have one in my garage, but as the rules go, I have to buy another from the UCD. I'd really like to use it. mygt has an average price for the car of 20,629. I am 100% sure that I have not driven the car and have not done any upgrades. How do you all feel about me using that car and basing the price off of the 20,629?

Well, I know it has potential, I cracked the top 3 FR laptimes with it already. Give it a day, if you still can't find one, then you could use it, providing you send it over or provide a way of checking costs as it is very easy to lie. But only as a last resort.
So, what do you guys think?

Well, that would only show that the laptime isn't made up, we're talking about the cost of the car itself...

Well in my opinion I think we should believe in honesty and if he can't find one today I say we price his camaro at 20,750 or close to it?
