Thanks everyone for keeping rooms open while I'm tied up with academy. Keep making touge tracks and by the time we get a proper series set up we will have lots of courses to choice from. What I am planning on doing is running a series side by side with TimberW's Initial D GT time attack series found here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=166057 and having home course challenges run ongoing and having battles weekly at neutral touge tracks. The weekly battles would be followed by a time trial in the adjacent series on the same course the battles were on.

hey guys i was wondering with this taking off so well and so many interested people, should we all begin forming our touge groups? as far as home course teams, and organise more team oriented battles something like the club system from TDU (if anyone can even play that game yet) this way we can really begin setting up mountains that will be apart of the series based off of something like votes after participants run courses, we can say have a number of courses set for a series, teams practice on their home courses and these courses will be apart of the series. this way everyone can actually have goals rather than just racing on a million tracks (which still is fun) but it would add a bit more structure... just my lil bit of thinkin goin on here

oh and one more thing, Initial D style not only was not only just extreme grip but also drift races as many know the akina 86 was a drift monster thru the touges. I was thinking about having another type of race such as a drift race thru the touge were drifting is a must and the cars tires be restricted to obviously the drift tire. comfort hards this way we can have extreme touge drift battle like those in the real mountains of japan... heres a vid

I think drifting should be optional and not a necessity. Although the 86 drifted a lot it was only because it was faster for cornering. I don't think we should limit matchups just because they dont drift.

No I didn't mean that it is only drifting I meant an entirely alternate Style that can coincide with the racing as in separate but still together. Racing will be racing and drift racing will be drift racing

There are no car restrictions listed in the opening post.

Can I run whatever I like? The AEM s2000 for example. Or the Amemiya FD3S RX-7?

We're currently working on the classes. But rule of thumb at the moment is road legal cars.

I think teams would be good. Minimum 2 drivers per team no max but the more people on a team the fewer who would take part in the deciding race battles. Every team would be allowed one challenge per week and no team could be challenged twice in the same week. I want to determine if the majority are looking for team battles like in Initial D or in single battles in a bracket system to crown a single victor.

There really is no need to specify whether a race be specifically grip or drift in most cases it will be a little bit of both. I think you will be surprised how much drifting there will be without having to mandate it in a separate format battle. I think the greatest thing about touge racing is to see what style is the fastest no matter what it be. Run a fast paced lap around a 5mile touge course in a 500PP FR or MR car on sport hards and try not to drift the second lap around  it's virtually impossible while keeping pace. I'm more focused towards BMI's touge battles as an RL example of how touge battles should go. That's a cool video but isn't really a race. I guess they felt like putting drifting race in the title but I would disagree; they are just having fun not racing or you would see them at least switch positions at one point. And Cresida vs. S14? The Cresida would lose every time, therefore you never see 'em in touge battles.

Yup... Only thing I know we will need to deal with is some sort of handicap for road legal tuner cars that have front end down force. It is a substantial advantage compared to cars without front down force so some testing will need to be done to find out how to make things even.

i understand completely but i have to disagree slightly, because i live in japan and me and some of the japanese guys i drift with actually do drift race each other even tho some of our cars are able to grip very well, it is just for fun but we definately drift race up and down our touge location and we drift thru our race section some times as well. not disagreeing just figured id add some more to this to make it an even broader more capable... GT5 lifestyle :)

I couldn't handle with this guys speed. This one is a top touge monster! :) My car tend to under steer(Spoon EK9). Maybe this car needs a better set up or I need to know his home course better :)

I am up for the battles. But for me personally its better to race alone. As for beeing in a team you need to train together. And with the big time difference it would be kinda hard to find a good time during the week.
Looking forward to it. Have made my home course - its kinda easy to drive. Gonna make it a bit harder.

It'll be great if you could share about your battle experience. It'll help us with deciding on the classes faster if needed.

Enter your car specs and more importantly the battle description, if it was close or not. Like what I've done on the first entry.

he was running the spoon ek9 hatch and i was running the premium ek9 hatch he was pretty quick but my car setup allowed for limited understeer for front wheel drive which allowed me quicker entry corner speeds and smoother exits basically allowing for later braking and full throttle exit apexing

That sounds like a blast. I could have been completely wrong but just from watching the video it didn't look like a race is all. I actually really like the idea but I am still a little confused how to do it. You'd really have to explain it better for me to be able to picture how we could set something like that up as a competition. But of course I'm always up for doing some drift races for fun.

I was also a little hesitant to do teams but if people want to I don't think it would hurt. I'm thinking a minimum on number of team members is out then and we should allow single and multi driver teams.

Here post your cars PP, HP and KG and of course your PSN and lap

If it isn't the guy who said I can't even drive. Why you starting beef with people? and those rules are from The Hot version segments.

Yo Kado, I got used to Touge 5(Dusk), It's also my home course now(Well half Home lol). Best Course ever dude! Used the Amemiya FD3S XD

Laptimes are a good indication for a car's performance in ideal conditions. It's one way to match car's performance.

With touge, there are a lot more different lines to take.

Provided that the people racing are in 'good' spirits and not bumping into each other, there are lines which can be used to block and might not necessarily be the fastest, and also can distrupt your opponents momentum/pace.

~just maybe, we can test out weak boost. If it creates more fun factor, why not?

Actually I think the chaser already has an slight advantage at night since you can just follow the leader while he has to cope with the darkness. Chasing is also usually easier. I'm not too much a fan of boost.

Hey I'm gonna be on right now for an hour or so if anyones on gotta practice my course a bit :D

can the classes system be certain hp levels? cas i want fair & close touge races.

We have been doing 500 performance points as the max and it has worked out pretty well so far. When I get some time Sunday I will do some solid testing to see if PP or a horsepower/weight limit will be better suited for close racing.
