I think we also have to consider the recent flow tests that was conducted on all NGTC engines. I think one possible outcome of that is that whilst we will see cars equally competitive, in the boost adjustment process surely any engine that ran under the boost limit will be made stronger and surely any engine that ran over the boost limit set by the panel will be lessened. In any case all engines will for me I think run as strongly as each other. So I see no reason why WSR cannot challenge Honda Racing.

RAR and Dynojet weren't fastest in the speedtraps at Rockingham though..so they couldn't have been running that much higher boost.

But they were running boosts higher than everyone until Knockhill, and after Wrathall was, and I quote, 'getting in the way' they were knocked down a few pegs and let the title race finish.

Gilham will be racing last year's Civic:

And Toby Moody has been confirmed as commentator for ITV:

That looks simply ghastly.

Arguably Knockhill is the track where turbo boost and top speed makes the least difference, and Rockingham is where it makes the biggest (or Thruxton and Silverstone).
So even if they were running higher boost at one and lower at the other, that still suggests to me that it was more than simply boost pressure that secured podium finishes for the NGTC cars.

All I know is Dynojet and RAR (and Welch) were running higher settings than the rest of the field in an attempt to show what the NGTC can do/make it more appealing. Mr. Gow was not impressed with the early season struggling and ramped up the full NGTC spec cars until Knockhill. At least thats what one of the team managers said. The said team also said they thought they would get a second car out by the second half of the season and that never materialsed so i'd take it with a pinch of salt :D

Yeah that's just not true.....

It's one big hill.

With a lot of twisty corners and not so many straights.

Very mature. Especially when you do it to someone who is red-green colour-blind; all the pictures you posted appear to my eyes as an absolute mess.

Mature? How the hell am I supposed to know you have a random eye health problem? Sorry that you find it uncomfortable, but I don't see how you can expect me to know each and everyone's health on this forum before I post anything.

Not really that only accounts for 1/3 of the track the rest is just straights Knockhill is still a power track I've telemetry data from various different cars that show that.

Who will be driving them?

Jackson, Caine and an unknown. It was thought to be McDowall but he's now apparently said he isn't driving BTCC this year. Its unlikely to be James Thompson as he is now back driving Ladas in WTCC.
I'm wondering if its Paul O'Neill as we haven't heard anything about tech-Speed.

Is Andrew Jordan still tied up at Pirtek?

Yup, Eurotech have got the new NGTC Honda Civics, the exact same ones Neal and Shedden will drive.

Interesting, what about any of the independents, do you reckon they could be in with a shot of the seat?

In BTCC, anyone who has cash has a shot. Though Motorbase are currently one of the more wealthier teams and they might be able to pay for the best rather than asking for money.
There isn't really anyone else from last year's grid that hasn't already got a seat. Boardman, Nash and Chilton are all off to WTCC or are tied to their own teams anyway.

We could always hope its Turkington or Giovanardi. Or even Steven Kane, Dan Eaves or any number of ex-BTCC drivers.

Yeah, pretty slim hope though!

Personally I'd like Jelley to step back up from Porsche racing.

Tech-speed and O'Neill's main backer have pulled out so I'd be surprised to see either. I hope O'Neill does get something sorted though. I'd expect the unknown to be Griffin once again. He's more likely to get it than Caine, who is still trying to put a budget together.

What about Lea Wood?

Only 5 names have been confirmed for the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup and Steven ain't one of them. But I think in the Carrera Cup Steven has the best chance of winning the title this year. So if he does have the funds I think the best use of the money will be in the Porsche's. If you had the money to do both and you had the chance of winning the title in one series, and likely being in a team that will be very good but not champions in the other, what would you do?

He won five races last year in a very good team in Team Parker Racing (who won 10 of the 19 rounds) and got 5 fastest laps. Compare that with how he did at WSR. He has improved in the space of one season to be one of the best currently in the PCCGB like James Sutton, Euan Hankey and Michael Meadows.

A seat at Airwaves Racing would be great for the BTCC but a seat in the Porsche's would for me be greater for the TOCA Support Series.

Who's the 5 so far cause no doubt i could double that list for you

Daniel Lloyd, Richard Plant and Sam Tordoff at TPR and Ben Barker and Chris Dymond at Parr Mortorsport.

The only other one I now know of since is George Richardson at Parr.

Come on then. Your turn.

Aron Smith joins Motorbase alongside Jackson and Griffin:
http://www.btcc.net/html/generalnews_detail.php?id=2840

So thats finally all of the major teams sorted out. Now all that is left is 100% confirming the smaller outfits, though its never really 100% confirmed till the first race.

Said on TcT and I think it is worth saying again here. OK, Aron Smith has joined the team but other than him it is as you were from last year.

Now I know Dave (Bartrum) has only worked with Mat and Liam for one season, and because the consistent problem of budget issues, which is the reason few teams I guess have been able to do what TD have done and hang on to the same pair for long, we cannot guarantee that Liam and Mat will be at Motorbase in 2013.

But if they can retain Mat and Liam long term they will be able to do what Team Dynamics have long proved to us all in Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden; that given time they will produce a driver partnership that has been able to gel and understand each other.
