Is this still going every Thursday? I would be available this week, since I'm on break. I've got a couple tracks that I think are pretty good that I'd love to share.

Yeah every thursday at 8:00 pm PST, theres still plenty of room.

feel free to add me psn GT-R_HumboldtEF.

I would be interested in this, but 8p.m. pacific makes it bedtime in my timezone. if anyone is up for an earlier race, please add me, PSN ELBILLO1. I have several tacks created & DL'ed.
thursday night would be great but I can race on most any night if we can get a group together. and I would be willing to organize if I/we get enough interest.

I think there was 9 people last time and I was missing, so we should break into double digits this Thursday! I've made a go-kart track with lots of turns for this week, so everyone bring your MINI's, there won't be actual go-karting :) Hope to see everyone there again.

What tires and PP on the MINI?

This week for me it's all about the race cars.

I'm bringing a technical track for low-horsepower race cars and race mods. 500PP with Race Hards.

If we have time I have a short but fast track for Super GT cars. 600PP with Race Mediums.

No street sedans this time. (I hear the sighs of relief...)

8 Pacific makes it a very late night for me too.

I'll open my lounge at 6 Pacific time tomorrow. Anybody that wants to start early add HaylRayzor.

All are welcome as long as you're a clean racer. Even those that don't have tracks to share are welcome. Those of us that have custom tracks just want to race on them. The more the merrier.

For the mini I think a good range would be 450-460 pp (thats fully tuned). you can get all of the Mini's (new and old) tuned to this level, and the lower number would allow for those who haven't changed their oil or have lost a bit of performance.

I had and Idea to expedite races, basicly running two to three races at each track with the first being a sort of shakedown/practice race in slow cars maybe a shuffle race (stock cars w/ comfort tires) or gt300 Super gt race cars. Then run the 2nd (and or 3rd) race just like you had planned for that track. The first race could hopefully replace the 10-15 minutes of practice we usually have.

Another thing we could do to cut down on practice time is to share one of the tracks we plan on using each week so everyone can download and practice the track, and to suggest the car type to be raced (which I'm working on). which I'll do once the PSN is back online, I've got a Toscana Track with some Really fun S's.
I'm leaning towards 60-70's Japanese cars, but I'm not sure everyone will have one.

And for those who asked If we could do the race a different day or hour, I'm totally game. But I dont want to siphon off players from the thursday night race. Maybe thursday we can discuss an alternate day or time.

Jumping in and racing is fine, but I don't agree that we should use different cars for the races. We should use the "spec" cars for all runs at a track. It would only add confusion to learn the track then jump in a much different car and have totally different corner speeds and braking points...

I do think that making a list up front of what cars you'll need and what PP will help move things along. If most people have their cars picked out and set up it will shorten the down time. Setting the race clock as soon as we switch tracks will also shorten things up.

And sharing the "main" track you plan to run will also help shorten things up. This is a great idea. This evening I'll put up my track. 500PP race cars/Race mods Race Hard.

I hope others will put up their tracks too, and list their car specs.

I'll go ahead and set up my MINI for 450 and practice it on Sport Soft. If gr1d wants to run lower PP I can de-tune it easy enough.

Yeah I know, but I still think this can help alot to simply learn the track. For example you could jump right into LMP race cars and you'll likely hit a few walls on your first laps but try an old stock mini cooper or something stock and slowish, you'll probably have much less trouble staying off the walls and you'll get to learn where the difficult turns are all while staying on the track doing 45 MPH. Personally I have no problems jumping from one car to another but I know it could be an issue, I just think if we can confine our off track excursions to slower cars we'll learn the track faster.

I think it has pontential and we should try it out once at least.

MY EVENT: I uploaded my Track, S to the SS, street cars, FR, 450 PP, racing soft tires.

I'm looking in the tuning shop, and I can't seem to find "super soft" tires... :scared:

Sport Soft?

My secret GT4 tires, no I messed up there.
Racing Soft is what I meant, i would go for tires with less grip but I go for racing soft tires for the sake of making learning a new track easier, but maybe i'm wrong there. Maybe having less grip will make people back off a bit and take it easy, I dont know.

Send me a reminder message tomorrow on the PSN or I'll forget.

My track is shared. Johnsonville Speedway.

This. ^

Racing Soft covers up many mistakes. No need to learn the track.

OK but YOU have to run 50 PP less than everybody else. To make it fair.

And Comfort Hard tires.

Oh never mind. You'll just beat me anyway and then I'll REALLY be embarassed...

Another fun night for me. There were never more than 5 drivers at once in the room so plenty of room for more.

I particularly liked Vampiro's track. Very different. Half an oval, half a road course. He has it shared for anybody that wants to check it out.

I also have my track from last night shared.

My theme for this week is Vintage Racing. '70 or earlier, 570PP, Racing Soft. Bring out those vintage race cars! Mark IV, XJ13, P330, GT40, Toyota 7, AC Cobra (if you're brave) or any race car or race mod made in '70 or earlier.

Track is shared now. America Speedway.

Second race will be Italian cars only. 550PP Sport Soft.

Track will be shared tomorrow. Cardiac Ridge.

I've got two tracks this week:

Eifel - Brake When?
590PP / Racing Hard Tires / Touring Cars (ABT Audi TT-R '02 for me)
Follow the racing line and you'll fall way behind.

Eifel - The Peaks
615PP / Racing Hard Tires / 90's Race Cars (Lister Storm V12 '99 for me)
This course has a small speed bump and drop off in it. Both placed reasonably near corners that shouldn't send you flying unless you drive like a lunatic.

One of them is currently shared.

Ok my track is up now, its called Crestfallen and Its gonna be a Shuffle race. For those who aren't familair with shuffle races you dont get to pick your car you get a random car with comfort tires on them.

Downloaded Brake When. Since you already took the "good" touring car... I'll take the Vauxhall Astra Super. I ran about 10 laps to get it dialed in for the track/PP. 1'35.1

And for the 90's race I'll bring the EDIT Jag XJ220 race car.

Also downloaded Crestfallen. I am a HUGE fan of shuffle races! OK, not really. :P

Editted my post above to add a second race. I'll share the second track tomorrow.

Cardiac Ridge is now shared. This one takes a few laps to get the hang of.

Hi,

I've created my first track 'DESERT STORM', I would like to share the track with people from GTP to get some feedback on it.

It's taken me nearly 3 days to create, I've had alot of my friend's run the track and have had alot of positive feedback so far, but I'd like to see what you guys think, as obviously, friend's can sometimes be biased(!).

It's Toscana, it's very long, so it does take a long time to find the racing line, but it's not too difficult, it's a mix of 50% easy and obvious corners mixed with 50% harder more technical corners.

It's fast, flowing and fun, but also has a few difficult corners on it to provide a challenge, especially if your time trialling.

I've tried to mix Spa, Bathurst, Laguna and Grand Valley into one track.

I didn't have a set number of corners or straights, I just kept driving it over and over again, amending the corners to make the racing line flow from side to side.

Each part is different, the track width changes, camber is sometimes high for some parts but non existent in other parts. There's one long technical section, another smaller twisty section, and two long fast flowing sections.

Would anyone like to give it a go, but again, it takes a while to nail the racing line, then once you get this, the track really comes alive.

It's built for fast road cars 350-550bhp, depending on tuning levels and tyres, most of the time we run sports soft, some of the faster heavier cars we've tried racing hards too.

I don't think superfast cars like the F1 or Le Mans ars would suit it, but anything around 350-550bhp power level, or more with better tyres, would be good for it.

My PSN is same is GTP name (Highlandor).

Anyone wants to try it send me PM, PSN message / FR and then access my track, or come to my lounge.

Many thanks
H

Are we starting at 6pm Pacific, 9pm Eastern, again to accommodate the east coast people?

I'll get in as early as I can. I'm now on Pacific time since the time change (Arizona doesn't change for dst). I will open the lounge if somebody else doesn't open it first.

I was talking to a friend about joining us and told him about the themes for this week. He says he doesn't have a touring car so I suggest that the Subaru or Lexus race mods qualify as touring cars.

Anyone wants to try it send me PM, PSN message / FR and then access my track, or come to my lounge.

This thread is for discussion of the weekly Track Creator Series. If you want to join us, great! Send friend requests to myself and gr1d. You will need to set specific rules regarding PP, tires, and any theme you want for the race.

If you just want people to try out your track you should post your request in the thread for that.

Yeah, I wanted to enter my track for the weekly track creator series to see what you guys think, as you're checking alot of different tracks and I thought it would be good place to start to get feedback..

Once I've finished this track I'll then go on to my next one and enter that too.

However, if you don't agree with this then no problem, no offence taken, I will start thread in Course maker sub section.

Please advise.

Many thanks
H

Please advise.

The way it works is you join us in the lounge on thursday evening (although I guess it won't be evening for you) and when it's your turn you put up your track. We run a couple of practice laps and then we run a short race.

Just pick a PP and tire limit.

Eifel - Brake When?
590PP / Racing Hard Tires / Touring Cars (ABT Audi TT-R '02 for me)

I've been putting in some laps at this track with all the touring cars I have and some of the touring cars won't reach 590PP even with the high rpm turbo. The PP limit may need to be 570 if you want all touring cars (or at least most touring cars) to be eligible. 💡

Also, can you set the time to later in the day to get rid of the glare? :D

Lowering the PP isn't a problem. I'll reduce it to whatever the highest everyone can reach is using the power limiter.

I'll also change the time to fix the glare before racing.

I'm working on a current set of tracks for online use. They are mostly 3 sectors and range between 2.5mi to 4mi. I'll have more information this weekend if anyone would like to try them out.
