Drivers Briefing - Round 9

Circuit: Spa-Francorchamps GP Circuit
Race Length: 3x 5 Lap Races
Circuit Times: Race 1 - 1300, Race 2 - 1600, Race 3 - 1900 (Progression 1 Times)
Circuit Weather: 0% (changeability of 1 Times)

We are now entering the 2nd half of the series and i'm pleased to say the series is definitely going strong with an improvement on grid numbers and some incredible racing all round. Heres hoping we can finish the season off strongly. There are a couple of items i'd like to bring up.

Race Starts

With the tight hairpin at Turn 1, there is an increased possibility of collisions at the start of the race. Please ensure that you keep it clean at the first corner of the race and only attempt a pass if you are certain it will be pulled off without any incident. Any incidents will be investigated with penalties applied if it is viewed that someone was at fault.

Track Limits

Obviously it is possible to short cut Eau Rouge and Bus Stop chicanes (Just ask Lewis Hamilton about the bus stop!) So the general rule will be a maximum of 2 wheels on the inside of the kerbs.

There is also a large amount of tarmac run off around the track. I understand that mistakes can be made so if you do run wide, lift off a little before rejoining the track. Of course if you run wide and gain a position or any time or shortcut Eau Rouge or the Bus Stop and gain a position or any time, please hand the position back or stabilise the time difference.

Stewarding / Protests

Due to the increase of car numbers it is now getting more difficult to keep an eye over the entire field while the race takes place. So if there are any incidents that you would like to have looked at, please send me a inbox and inform me of the incident you would like to have looked at and also your side of the story. I also request that all drivers save the race replays so they can review the incidents themselves and get their point of view correct before any protest is made. If you have not saved the replay it will be more difficult for yourself to clearly explain your story and match it up to the video evidence that we will have.

Race 1 Begins - At the conclusion of qualifying

congrats to Itz on the wins, was on rails! and omg was i glad to be back on the top step also! we had a few great door to door moments with him the victor but a small mistake in race two saw me able to clinch that win! woop! :)

super round i'd say!

Bencrow was on absolute fire!, seriously impressive stuff! almost on the podium again!
if there was one lap or even a few corners more Soks had me for the win, was flying!
NW has found his feet in the merc for sure, we had some great practice laps and can see him making his way further up the grid without a problem!

also well done to evil and smiley on their first round, both are fast as and with a good tune and some track time i can see them knocking a few seconds off easy! was doing a few laps with smiley at Roma later on and he was hoofing!. Evil at spa was great too, within a few laps of prac he had found 2 seconds so i cant wait to see what these boys bring in future races!
what a great track Roma is!, haven't really run around on it before besides maybe a few laps in game but woah!, super fast and super flowy, will be wild as with a big grid again!

really sucks for Gas still having the continued disconnection issues, looked like he was on for a podium in race 2 i think it was.. again fingers crossed for next time

Thanks, Yeah i'll be honest, im not the best at tuning a car either. The extent of my tune was stumbling across a good Opel Tune online, plugging it into the car and making minor adjustments to get it near where I want it. It works pretty good considering, and its the same thing I did in the gt series for the final round, if only tyre life was improved!

Just an update for everyone. I have got most of the results done, just waiting to find out fastest laps from race 2 and who the lap leaders were as i didnt save the race 2 replay. Once they are done I will have the results posted and points updated. Drivers Briefing will be posted later tonight.
 
Evil elvis!, lol, yeah i am relatively new to gt also, had the game for a while but only a steering wheel for a few months and only found out about this online racing series thing this year!... i was just playing f1 2013/12 with a mate most nights but this is something else!.. Tunes are heaps of fun i think, really understanding your car and the track makes it really satisfying!
RE: tunes, we can do some runs whenever you like to try find more pace, its ob a great car leading the championship, and you have some skills yourself so shouldnt be too difficult to find some pleasing results!

Will prob have a room open this evening for some fooling around so will post a msg here when i am thinking of heading on!

Itz my replay wont open for the r2 or 3 replay... i dont know whats up, hope my ps3 isnt giving up the ghost!!!

Thanks for the kudos mate, yeah im a little obsessed so am online racing alllll the time!, or drifting!, tonnes of drifting these days!... which reminds me i just saw Shane Van Gisburgen on 'speed week' in the drift comp at the Sydney Time Attack festival.. gooooood he is good!, for a part timer to make the top 16 of aus/asia/world for the official round was really something else! a ute won!... LOL!

im .2 up in sector one and two, then it all goes to hell in the last squiggles... i feel fast through there but im washing off speed somewhere and i cant work out how to not! its in the suspension i know but bah!!
 
we're all in the same boat then... the Bemmer wants to do a 7 too, then changes her mind. Even tickling her behind didn't help..........wait...... she's German..... beer and sausage might be what she needs :lol:
 
!!HAHAHA!!... sheesh this is gonna be another tight battle i feel!, i think this round will see the whole field only a few seconds apart in qual! will be great!

Soks i watched the race 3 replay from Spa last night, oh my!, .2 between us!, i said at the time one more corner and it was yours, now im thinking about 20 meters and you had me! you just got faster and faster!!!

There isnt much to talk about this week, as we return to a street circuit lined with barriers. From the test sessions I have been involved in, this looks like being a very close round.

Track Limits

There is nowhere that anyone can gain a huge advantage so corner cutting and running wide wont be looked at and there will be no penalties. So you can use as much kerb as you want, as long as you dont hit the wall, and we all know how colliding with walls plays out!

Contact

This track has another unusual Opening Corner so please be careful at the start of the race.
