Missed qualifying but still had a great weekend.

Got lucky in the first as strategies were slightly off. Which was good cause I dropped 20 seconds after giving manic a tap.

Second race was awesome. Caught Gregg on the second or third lap when he stepped out the rear. Tucked my nose in and made sure he was straight.

Then blasted off to try stay in the slip stream and slipped in behind Sean who was killing me on the straights. Eventually ended up on softs behind platinum and tried to force the mistake. I don't have any power so overtaking had to be corner speed. Getting better at not using the brakes as much. Plat defended perfectly and took out a well deserved second. Congrats to Auts as well, GW mate.

Hi guys, 2nd last round for gt5 was another cracker. Apart from one hot headed emu who should have stuck his head in the sand to stop him from shooting off his mouth, think everyone enjoyed it. Nice pole to platinum again (some one needs put him in his place i think lol)

Did I receive a ten HP penalty?? By the way emu, I don't mind I'm not going to make a social league un-social. I may not make it as dad has his work party thing, and well done clint, every race you seem to hit the TURBO.

well done clint, every race you seem to hit the TURBO.

Thanks bud, consistency is key. I can go as fast as possible with this much HP (this little?) now so now I just maintain speed on a smooth line. As early on the throttle and as early off the brake as possible.

The big difference I think has been making the tyres last. 2 stops seems safer than the 3 stops that need a manic last stint.

Four points between me and Clint going in to the last round will make things mighty interesting, just so you know Clint, I'm taking your title :D

Racing went well for me, lucked out in first race with 2nd as I spun at one stage while in the lead, big thanks to Platnums and Boywonders pit crew for taking that bribe and putting in less fuel :)

Second race went fantastic, filtered my way up from the back and just set about hammering out the sub 1:30 times, had some great runs with people (fewzo was on fire!). Coming in to final stint Platnum had a 4ish sec lead, with me on softs and the carrot in the form of Platnum just in sight, with the stick of Clint coming up behind me on softs (clint in my mirror seems to make me put in some quick times) I closed the gap and got through on Platnum, such was the difference in grip with me on fresh softs at Plat on worn meduims I managed to go round the outside as he was making it mightily difficult to get through.

I think the 3 stop was the best strategy for me, instead of worrying about tyre wear I was able to hammer it lap in lap out, great to see two different stratgegies used effectively though, shows how great this final series is.

I'm gonna play hillbilly chase music the whole race to really create the right atmosphere.

Me n Clint will be like the special kids running at the back of the cross country race

Yep. Super slow but the bonus is we can go flat out every lap.

M: 4:19.6
A: 4:17.2

Fuel will not last past three laps and both tyre types last the 3 laps. Fronts barely wear at all so wash off that speed with the front tyres more than the brake.

Fuel is tough to get right so I'd do some testing. Auts and I will go for longer than the rest but this won't translate to that big a difference after the straights. Soooo slow.

The car is planted and I can't imagine any strategy besides 3 laps M/ 3 laps S/ 1 lap M being faster.

This will be a hectic race for the cars with higher horse power.

Yeah I did many laps trying to get the car to used 25 or less litres per lap but gave up in the end. Perhaps on race day with the slipstream this may be possible

Hi guys, last championship race on gt5 today. Very excited about gt6, are going to have some awsome memories from my much loved gt5. have made some great friends and epic races with all of you. Hope gt6 brings the same and more to the table. We will be qualifying all at once today. We will leave the pits in gaps of 25 seconds. Plenty of time to warm up tyres so don't muck around. If anyone has a moment during lap be very careful coming back on your time will be shot anyway so no need to stuff anyone else's lap up. If you do catch anyone please pull out of there slipstream down the straights so no advantage is gained. Last few races first few corners have caused some dramas, this is a long race with plenty of chances to over take, so need extra care in to first few turns. Also in testing last night with luke we stumbled across a glitch when entering pits, you must slow down before first left hand bend once in the pit lane. If you don't you will go straight across the sand and gain a 4 second advantage. if anyone dose that they will be pinged a 10 second penalty at end of race. We know and trust all you guys and know you wouldn't want a win this way. Last thing, braking at end of straights if you've had a slipstream changes big time so just keep that in back of your head. cheers. Have a great races guys

What a great series and how was the racing today, awesome fun with great friends, sounds like everyone enjoyed the format!
Now for some time to think and work out how we can make this sort of fun and competition continue into GT6...
I love it when a plan comes together... lol

Plan definitely came together mate. Great first race today, had some very tough battles especially against Greg. Second was fairly anticlimactic as there was very little battling for me. Fun to watch the blue arrows around me changing position but I couldn't even keep up in the slipstream. Great to see Luke get a win and Manoc would have been up there if it wasn't for a couple of mistakes.

Hopefully we can replicate these races on GT6. I know I'm looking forward to proper qualifying and the new tyre model is meant to be more realistic.

We worked out 8 races with 6 winners, now that proves the format worked! Mad props to Clint for winning again and being so inch perfect race in race out. Props to Luke n Greg for arranging this which turned out to be one of the best series's we have had. Bring on GT6 b!tches!
