It's not about doing ok or not, it's about fun. To me Travian is a war game, and what I like the most is attacking other people or helping some alliance member out. But of course if sim city is what you like to do, than that's what you should do.

And raiding helps a lot to gather resources quickly, togheter with a good resource production.

If you think I'm playing SimCity then you should attack me and we'll see who loses their army.

Trust me, attacking isn't as much fun as you think. When I was sharing an account with anaracaix last round it was the #1 ranked attacker by over 25,000 points (and the #1 defender too). Having to trade/raid 500,000/day and send crops around to support -25,000/hr isn't all it's cracked up to be.

But the good thing about Travian is everyone has their own strategies and plays however they want. I know the burden of a huge off. and I don't want to play that way this round.

Mind you, on the old com1 I was 4500 pop and had a miserable army. There's a post of mine in this thread that has the whole sum. Terrible. :(

In 4 villages (3 had nothing), I had a total of 2609 Imperians, 150 scouts, 450 Imperatoris, 30 Fire cats. The additional troops in the two posts above are from putting all res into a build queue when I saw the incomings.

2609 Imperians, 150 scouts, 450 Imperatoris, 30 Fire Cats = rubbish army.
Divided by 4 = 652 Imperians, 38 scouts, 113 Imperatoris, 8 cats average per off. village
Divided by 7 = 373 Imperians, 21 scouts, 64 Imperatoris, 4 cats average over all villages.
 
Sorry dude, I don't (duh!).

Try it the diplomatic way (I did, after all). Ask him why he's catapulting you/would he stop.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, I bet I could do some damage if your alliance didn't help.

But this isn't what I'm talking about. As I said, you gotta play it the way it's more fun to you. Attacking is what I like the most in this game. You said you never attacked anyone so far, so you're just evolving your village and you have your troops to defend it. That's probably how I would play if I were using the Gauls too, but that's SimCity in my view.
 
No, you'd probably lose your army. Unless you have an army Kunde would be proud of.

Yeah I completely agree. Having to move crop around all day sucks horribly. I'm just gonna have a nice defensive force and a mild offense eventually.
 
If I had the res, I'd train my def hero and send him on a 24 hour trip to you.

But I don't have the res, so I can't. :(

SimCity is to develop high pop villages and not build troops. To play SimCity is to build lvl 20 embassies in all your villages.
 
Does my wall have "destroy me please" written all over it or something? It got taken down from level 10 to level 7 :|

It had already been dropped from level 11 to level 10 last week...
 
It's always a good idea to send rams with your attacks. Walls add a large def. bonus when you're talking about large numbers of attackers/defenders. As for your wall, I think since you're being farmed a wall is useless since you'll never have enough def. to make use of it.
 
dbar and I play Gauls completely differently, and both methods work.

I did huge offensive setups, and was raiding massive amounts.

SimCitiers suck cause they do not develop effecient cities, just population.

Dbar here can train troops if he needs :)
 
But doesn't every SimCity player makes troops? Because if their fun is to develop the city they won't have space for crannies for too long, so they'll need troops to defend the town and the resources.
 
no. most simcity players have little or no units. They develop their villages at the expense of troops.

The best example is new witti. He took over around Christmas from old witti and had the #1 account in s1 the entire time. His total army was less than 2000 units, despite having over 30 villages.
 
Search for them in the listing of top villages. RO-Andrei seems to play this way a bit. The new CP formula forces everyone to play this way a bit since you need to build garbage buildings like the embassy until you can start to throw large parties around the clock.
 
The bad thing is most of these players are protected by their alliances. I'm having my fun with smaller aliances in the mean time.
 
Sorry bout that blue, was returning back to deathwave... though their regional embassy is now full.

S1 is sliding for me, but s3 speed round ;)

BTW, I need another co-player, someone I have worked with in the past. VTGT still around here?

Gee, the GTP alliance blows hard :(. If I got an offer from {SC} (;)), boy would I take the chance.
 
I never see jon on AIM anymore, thus the wondering.

Probably got busier and thus a life.

And oh teh joys, just has the 3rd largest player raid an ally mate on S3, though he killed nothing and got nothing.
 
Now only 3 members left in GTP. The alliance sucks (not the members, though). I want a bigger alliance.
