Don't dismiss axefighters, so readily, they're the second strongest Teuton attack troop (behind Teuton Knight) can carry 50 (10 more than a legionnaire and as much as an imperian) and are much better defenders than clubswingers and better vs. infantry that spearfighters.

When you have 900 though, it'll take a ton of defenders to make a dent in that size an attack force.

Div is back
Check in the combat simulator how many equites imperatoris you need to kill all those clubswingers.

That's true, even more so with equites caesaris. But he didn't send clubbers, he sent axefighters.

HCL also attacked one of our members ( fukyô no kessha )... in this case he had problem with our member in the SPANISH travian and he transfers this problem to travian.com ... not really a pro, is he ?

I seem to be having a few technical glitches. My use of crop is 72, but pop is 69, and I tried to send my 3 legionnaires on a raid. Only when I tried the third time did they actually leave.

And my crop production suddenly dropped to zero... from 13 👎

I'm at the stage where a Flourmill could be built. How much of an improvement does it give at level 1?

like 10 percent. flour mills are good, though. why not build one? especially if you have an army to feed.

I think Demon plans on doing some owning, if I guess correctly...

Well, I'd see what I can do :). Unfortunately, it is not the best moment as one of our alliance members in .net is being owned ATM, so I had to split my forces. Still, I'd be glad to know HCL's nickname in .net, for future reference :).

Each lvl of flour mill increases your overall crop production by 5%.

Lvl 1 - 5%
Lvl 2 - 10%
Lvl 3 - 15%
Lvl 4 - 20%
Lvl 5 - 25%

Your overall crops are here:
5.gif
596/950, I have a lvl 3 mill, so I produce 950/1.15= 825 crops per hour without the mill. If I were to upgrade to lvl 4, I'd have
5.gif
596/990 (825 * 1.2), an increase of 40/hour.

First level is 5% (all ressources buildings provide a 5% increase for each level)

Edit: Demonseed beat me to it! :P

The right time to build your flour mill lvl 1 and 2 is once you have all your crop lots at lvl 7. Before that, each single crop upgrade increase your production more while costing less, but once you reach that point a Flour mill provides an increase about the same as upgrading to lvl 8 lots, but this time at a smaller cost.

dbartucci, I want to buy some phalanx from you in .net, in next hour or so. I am under attack, and by the speed of it, it's something with maximum speed of 5 [in that case he only launched the attack 2 minutes before i got home from work, and he is attacking with praetorians, that would be stupid]. if it has less speed than 5, then these are siege weapons :nervous:

can i buy some of your phalanx? [he picked the right moment as well, just when my defense forces are at iceman's]

yeah, my mega farm - scipio [the one i did for over 40k of resources in 1 day]. i dont think he can unleash anything serious. i just wanted to make sure none of his puny units make it back. i was on my way to attack him, and he probably thinks i have no army left in my village. he is in for about 170 units of surprise, hehe.

i wonder if he checked our forum and got pissed off with the taunts i wrote in the forum news :)

I hope you crush B4B. 5 of their members try to attack me daily. Most of the time they get nothing, but sometimes they get a little. I can't usually get more than about 15 Eq. Caesaris to attack them and kill them all because they keep attacking.

Max_DC, thank DarkKnight for me. When I get attacked he holds some of my troops or resources somtimes.

So, all you seasoned veterans out there, when (population- and production-wise) is a good time to start building an army?

I want to start raiding some of the inactives around me.

I'm currently at a population of 65 with 36/36/36/13 production.

If you have many possible farms and not much chance of being attacked, an army of 10 or so of your cheapest troops can be your best asset early in the game. You will grow infinitely faster with the resources you are bringing in.

If you have enough farms to pull in a large amount of resources, an army would be the way to go. If you only have 1 or 2 farms that don't give out much, then it isn't worth it.

If you're Roman you can start farming even with 2 legionnaires, with small villages (15 pop or less), and increase gradually your army. It'll multiply your current income quite fast, provided you've got at least 3-4 farms, close to your village.

Don't send a legionnaire alone, he won't come back alive.

Yeah .. about that .. I'm Gaul.

I can't believe I forgot to mention that.

I've got 2 Phalanx (not legionaires :dunce: )training at the moment.

edit:

And I've got five targets on my small map, the highest population of which is 19, and three more between 25 and 40.
