Obviously you dont read the rules before you jump in feet first :dunce:

Car specifications :
any japanese domestic market road car with the following restrictions :
  • displacement lower than 2,050 cc ;
  • all power upgrades allowed ;
  • no NOS ;
  • weight reduction stage 3 ;
  • wing allowed ;
  • sports tyres only ;
  • all other parts are allowed.

What a waste of time you are :dopey:

Just a quick question: Why are we restricted to using only 'sports' tires when the 'medium'-grip 'racing' tires are perhaps more similar in performance to the slicks used in the real-life Tsukuba Time Attack battles?

Because the R3 tyres would give us times far over the limit? Even with S3s we're sitting far faster than the real-life cars.

And obviously, we have no idea if S3s are closer to slicks than R3s, or not. They're random names...

Verfy this, I am following the rules now.

Car: Honda Integra Type R (DC5)
Track: Tsukuba Circuit - WET
Time: 1'00.303
Driving Aids: TCS Only

EDIT: This car had NOS, but I uninstalled it to follow the rules.

To have something verified you must supply the proof! .. namely a replay and since you don't have a replay device you are simply pissing into the wind :sly:

How can I export my replays (PS2-GT4) to computer ?

I don´t know.

Thanks :sly:

I´m sry.

But why only 2050cc ?

I have 2 cars for example:

Both weight is 1400 kg (w r s3 - 1150kg)
First have natural 3498cc 280hp
Second turbo aspirated 1984cc 280hp

- it is not the same ?

No, is not the same. Rules state for 2050cc, similar (I guess) to the real life version. It could just as well have been "Cars with round headlights". Those are the rules, and we either follow them, or not participate.

It also appears to me that, despite a recent increase in (mostly invalid) laptimes, they don't count anyway since Cyril (Tedehur, if you must stick to forum names) has long retired...

You need a MaxDrive, Xport/Sharkport or PS3 with PS2 memory card reader.

As for "why" in the rules - because they are the rules. The rules are Japanese Domestic Market, road car, with a displacement lower than 2,050 cc, no NOS, weight reduction stage 3, sports tyres, a wing permitted and all other power upgrades and part upgrades allowed.

I wouldn't expect to turn up in a Bentley Speed 8 on R5s with NOS and have my time permitted.

Yeah, I'm looking at this thread quite frequently, and I'm always amazed at the amount of new times submitted despite the fact that I haven't updated the leaderboard at all for the past year and a half or so.
But the Excel spreadsheet is rather complex with all the different categories, and I've had my share of admin with the WRS. No more time for checking replays, typing in times and posting leaderboards.

But if someone wants to take over I'm willing to send the spreadsheet :)

I would just lock the thing down, it's taken it's course and all we are getting now is fly by night submissions that are mostly invalid because they ignore any sort of rules. A bit like GT5P Online actually.

I'd really like to know what goes through the head of someone who thinks their times will be taken at face value when they've been pulled up for lying about their real cars, have claimed to type a 2 instead of a 5 (making a 7'50 'Ring lap into a 7'20 'Ring lap) and are banned from the WRS for inventing a time and failing to provide any proof despite numerous public and PM requests to do so.

*shrug*

I have no idea, but I have a bad feeling there are more to come as GT5 gets closer. :dopey:

I don´t mean to wrangle about rules. Rules are rules i understand.
First time I´m not read it and I´m apologized. What´s the problem.

I´m inquire for logical difference in my example of 2 cars. And ...
I´m only interested what opinion eventuate you to your decision about displacement. That´s all. Thanks for your copmrehension.

Which one do you think will be allowed and which one will not?

I´m don´t know. But I really hope you help me with them. It´s a high math.
Visibly are you not to understand my question, but I´m not anger to you :sly:

Famine: - Thanks:tup:

No problems.

To be honest, your best bet is a PS3 - easier to use, no risk of data corruption, easier to get hold of.

You should be able to get a MaxDrive without TOO much trouble (and at 1/20th the price of a PS3), but they can be a little fiddly and people have accidentally corrupted their memory cards through not using it quite right.

XPorts/Sharkports are a nightmare to get hold of (eBay only), but very easy to use indeed. Downside is that they must be connected to both the PS2 and PC simultaneously by a 6 foot cable for data transfer.

That's probably the wisest thing to do indeed.
It can always be reopened if someone thinks it's worth staying alive.
