TT 35: Laguna Seca (SUSPENDED) & Chamonix West. [Post 1 for tunes!]

You guys make it like Amo commited bug abuse and went underneath the track and got 1 second lap times.

But you are all just assuming towards one side.
Perhaps when he started doing the time trial, he was never cutting the track and got a finish in fourth place. Then he saw the replay of the three people ahead of him and saw that they all cut the track when he stayed on course. Maybe he got annoyed by that and decided to submit a lap time that had him cutting the track.
But it sounds as if you guys think that everyone in the entire world did a clean lap because everyone in the world is a good clean repsectful racer and it was Amo who decided to become the bad seed and cut first!
Last I checked, guy in second place cut, as well as third, and fourth, and fifth, and sixth, and 114th...
But thats ok because its fair! Its fair because EVERYONE CAN DO IT. Its not like Amo is the only one who can go onto the elevated snow without getting an invalidated lap while the rest of us that do go on it do get an invalidated lap. If that was the case, then where would be a problem. Stop getting up on Amo. If he didn't do it, someone else would have!

Is it right? No. But thats PD's fault. We just have to pretend that going onto the elevated portion is part of our driving line because its part of everyone else's.

Broke the top 250 at Laguna, at 201 at the moment, so I wasn't quite fast enough to make the top 200.

This argument is rubbish!!! If Lee harvey Oswald hadn't killed JFK someone else would have done it. 👎 👎 👎

Beacuse of my understanding of racing, I would never have the idea of cutting corners that way.

Now I have seen the video and guess what? I will not do it anyway! If that means, that I stay outside top 500 so be it.

Nevertheless it's PD's fault to allow this cheating, same in the Academy.

The problem is within the player, not the game.
It's up to the player to choose if he's going to exploit or not and if he does so then it shows something about his personality, if he does it more times it's shows more and if he does it on almost every single TT (from what I've seen) then he clearly has issues. I don't care who he is, all I know he's not getting the respect from me.

Also, I'm sorry to bring this up but I'm 100% sure Eclipsi did a wallbang on a Trial Mountain Reverse TT a few months back. Noone said a word, yet now it's Amo this, Yinato that etc.
I'm just wondering, I don't want to start a fire here and I see Eclipsi as one of the fastest guys out there, this ain't aimed at him but the community here.
EDIT:
Here's the TT: https://eu.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt5/event/d37800.html
Time Trial no. 23 - 345BHP Trial Mountain Reverse (Nissan R390 was used)

Quick question from a newbe at this forum. How much quicker you can get using a steering wheel? I have tried Dazmeister22 tuning setup (thanks, btw) but all I could get so far is 1:38,941 which currntly leaves me at 599 place. Are there any pad users in top 100, 200?? :)

I should be around 50ish ATM using Dazmeister's tune and there's at least on guy 1 second faster than me using a pad. Probably more.

A wheel, especially the pedals, help. But not to an enormous extent.

Just did 1:35.78 in the Lancer Evolution X GSR P.P. '07
I can see a .5xx without using AS

about to try the Lancer Evolution VIII RS '03

I never took part in that TT... but I'm pretty certain after knowing and racing against Ramon for a good decade in OLR that if he hit a wall in that combo? it was probably in error or went unnoticed by him as he's pretty much as clean and fast as they come 👍 I've saw countless replays from the guy and yet to see a dirty lap tbh! you might have found a needle in the haystack there ;)

Just wondering.. how many laps have you done in Laguna just trying out this TT?

And.. you have the Wipers on lol Does that help??? (Sarcasm) :)

Thanks ItsHim. It seems I have to learn ... a lot.

1'36.7 with the pad and last time I checked it was good for 35th.

How much faster you are with the wheel? It just depends how good you are with the controller and how good you are with the wheel in comparison. I have to use my controller now and in a week or so I get my wheel back so you can see how much I'll improve.:sly:

I'm 100% sure and I'd never lie about that, he hit the wall on the exit of the chikane... which is only at like 10 seconds into the lap, I've been wondering why he didn't restart, I mean he was at the beginning and he wouldn't lose anything. That made me realise he did it on purpose, which is a real shame comming from a driver such as him.
It was a noticable bump, and I'm 99% sure that he uses bumper view there's no way it has gone unnoticed.
Most likely a 1 in a million case to be frank, I still regard him as a top class player and top 10 in GT5.

55 with a controller after 10 laps or so. You can be fast without a wheel. However, if you're going to buy a wheel you'll need ample space.

You just don't put a wheel on your lap and turn into Vettel. The entire package needs comfort, space and stability. And then there's practice and time!

That's part of the fun ;)

You're doing well anyway, that's a good effort. Don't forget the folks you run into here are amongst the most dedicated players out there. Won't take too long till I'm pushed off the 250 lb anyway.

My point:
What if Amo instead of being number one, he finished number 11 and he still cut the track.
Would you decide to ignore the other 10 people ahead of him that also cut the track and still focus on Amo? No. Everyone else did it (Right??!) but Amo did it the fastest.. ("HE DID IT THE FASTEST? WHAT A TERRIBLE PERSON!!" <--logic), Instead of focusing on Amo making him out to be this absolute scumbag dirt from underneath my shoe, how about we point our fingers to the where the problem really is, PD for not fixing this!

Has anyone noticed J_Clarkson in the Chamonix TT? 23rd place at a touch under 2:06 driving a 111R.

Now that looks like some serious skills

Was very happy with my time, now even more happy after seeing that I'm 4th fastest Canadian on the leader board!

Thanks, I see you're way up top once again this week Mike :P

I didnt expected that, i honestly cant remember the last time i ran this track.... :scared:
I had a first session today, trying to get used to the car
I used the tune posted here, wich is nice 👍 i wished i had the '03 Lancer, wich proven to be faster on the Nurburgring stock for stock.

I will start to tweak it on the next session, i also forgot the traction control it seem from the leaderboard info here http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/products/gt5/event/d6321.html... the car did felt tamed too much in some corner on accel, that should help without the traction control, congrats to privatejoker, well done! :)

Currently in 3rd at Laguna with a 1:35.867. Here's what I did:

Buy a brand new Evo X from Premium dealership. DO NOT DO AN OIL CHANGE.

Performance upgrades are everything except engine stage 1,2 or 3 and no turbo upgrade. So, it has all the best exhaust parts, air filter parts, suspension drivetrain etc. Oh and all the weight reduction parts too.

Here's the setup:

393bhp - Powerlimiter 100%
Ballast 170kg @ +50

Suspension:
RH 40/-15
SR 11.7/8.9
EXT 5/6
Com 6/5
ARB 4/4
Camber 1.0/0.7
Toe -0.15/0.05

LSD 10/20/12 Front
10/26/14 Rear

Torque Distribution 40/60

Gearbox

Reset to default, then set Final gear all the way to the right, then set max speed all the way down (to the left), then set individual gears to these settings:

1st-2.732
2nd-2.097
3rd-1.674
4th-1.385
5th-1.187
6th-1.044

Then set Final gear back to 4.213, this should give a max speed at the top of 140mph (approx 220km/h)

I'm no pro at tuning but this setup works for me, although I'll probably continue to make a few tweeks.

Thank you for this, managed to gold it with this setup. 👍

Nice times Twissy and Joao! 👍

Just turned on my wipers and shaved off .500 off my time. Thanks Pr1vate, lol. Gonna try the high beams next. The horn didn't really do anything for me, lol.

I just posted 350 using this tune, though I also dropped the front suspension to -15 as well. I don't like how the car handles with the front so high. I can drive it and was in the low 139's, but I'm ocd and it bugs me. I actually had downloaded twissy's goast to see if I could keep up, much faster exit speed he has.

Is having the front end way up high proven to make most drivers faster through the course?

Also looking to adjust the tune to get a little more exit speed. I've got a little bit of outside wheel spin so I'm thinking I might have to soften up the chassis just a tad.

thanks great setting, with two laps i have done 1.39 up:tup:
I got up front and rear by 1 point
brakes 8/7
.....I also used the evo VII ...
but it seems slow ... maybe I made a mistake with Modifies

Used an evo Tommi Makkinen something or other. This challenge didn't see really all that hard, maybe I just got lucky but I golded it on my first clean lap. 1:39.7xx
