TT #36: 600pp Nürburgring 24h/Cote d'Azur. See post 1 for tunes.

True, but it's not really about the credits, it's about developing an incentive to keep people playing the game. Most of my buddies run the TT just to get the money and that's it. Rarely do they try for a top time although many of them are certainly capable of it. Beyond personal pride which has it's own motivation, money/prizes/bonuses etc. will keep some of them coming back and playing the game. Even though credits are easy to come by, look how that small change in the A-Spec events has changed how some of us approach it. It's now a real challenge to find the lowest PP car in a particular event for some people, which keeps us playing the game, which is exactly what PD should want. It's developing brand loyalty, priceless in retail:idea:

I understand & agree with all you say, but they should just keep the credits realistic. Being human, I hate wasting. Even ficticious virtual money. :lol: So I'm constantly trying to find something to spend the bucks on. After numerous FGT's, a horde af F40's as 'cash' cars, 3 of each of the 20m cars, 3 X1's, 3 each of the Frerrari F1's & a host of other expensive cars too numerous to mention, it almost becomes an irritation finding something to buy. What a contradiction!

On another note, any tips for me on this, anyone? I use a Logitech DF Pro wheel & am reall struggling on the hairpin & 2nd from last turn at Monaco, due to the huge amount of turn required on the wheel. Are there any settings I can change to improve this? It's costing me loads of time. :(

I think I can do a low 1:08.8 with my current setup, hopefully someone like yinato attempts the TT and shares one of his super setups with us. :)

Slide the thing :), generally if you can slide a car around a tight corner in GT5 without producing loads of smoke it's a good thing. Don't have the brakes fully on all the time just try and feather them whilst turning and feather the throttle on the exit to try and regain traction. If your using an F10 6:7 on the brake balance and for an F2007 6:9 but whatever feels right for you.

Im no expert but, I find that if you break right to the apex then let go the breaks the back will come around nicely, using peasantslayer break setup.

Finally trying monaco again. I switched back to the G27 and changed to the F10. I got my fastest sector 1 time (18.6xx) but cant keep it up in the rest of the lap. Only 1 clean lap went theough after an hour which was a 1:11.3, my fastest with the wheel.

Green Hell must be a little harder than Spa. Made gold with both tuned Gallardo and tuned Audi NewVolare (the wing A helped) in the 38,000 ranking, the 4WD cars are the way to go, tried Aventura but it was too fast and couldn't stay on the track. For those of us lower on the pyramid.

Spa was 50,000 so either 12,000 folks are enjoying summer outside or haven't made it into the 9:50s. Out of 7,000,000 unit sales.

Finally into the 1:08s, only just but as you can see half way through the last sector I lose a bit of time because I don't get it around the second to last corner properly.

Was running with Immortal today doing some F1 practice and he say's hes gonna try for the 1:07 barrier :D

That's a big ask but when you see the way he has just been taking huge chunks out of his time I wouldn't put it past him.

8:52 without abs? I too like the shorter courses for the tt. I rarely ran the 'nurb at all until a short while ago for that reason and i'm just not up to putting in 10-15 laps to shave off a few seconds.

I don't see why they couldn't do the same thing with the tt's as they did with the a-spec events with time related prizes. Say $1,000,000 for hitting the target time and then graduated up to say $5,000,000 for someone that hits 8:25 or whatever the theoretical minimum is with graduated prizes in between.

So if the target time is 9:25 then there would be another $4,000,000 available for shaving the next minute off or roughly $66,666 per second. That would at least give you some incentive for keeping at it beyond personal satisfaction.

tcs = 0
abs = 1
:)

I wouldn't bet against him doing it. Went back to this today for 10 minutes and couldn't improve my time. Need to find a time to do 50+ laps at one time. I guess no mw3 for my kid tomorrow morning.

I had been 4 tenths down at the start of sector 3 and crashed but I just got 1:08.799, it was one of my best ever laps simply because I saw that I was 5 tenths down and I had the audacity to powerslide my F2007 through Piscine/swimming pool corner and I think I gained time. :D

mw3... You should confiscate your kid's PS3. :)

EDIT: I have went 2 tenths faster in the last sector, matched the middle sector and went a few hundredths faster than Immortalpilot's 1:08.013 lap so I can definitely make the top 3 as the times stand.

Immortal is trying again on last day. Just said that he thinks he can go faster. Again, I wouldn't bet against him.

On my current fastest lap I'm faster than Immortalpilot in the last sector, I did set a .579/573 which would have put me 4th but my PS3 wouldn't upload the time. :( I think Immortal will drop into the .8s soon. :bowdown:

Finished 200th on the Ring TT in my R8 4.2 with a 8.44 and 1885th with an FGT at Cote d'Azur, not too happy with my Cote d'Azur time but finished top of my friends list on both so not too shabby. It's a shame we don't have all the F1 tracks available, would be nice to follow the season around.

Unlucky. Last time I suffered that was probably in GT5P, was quite annoying.

Still yet to give this a go. I wonder if the F10 is faster though, might give that a go to be different if I get time to run a few laps on it.

I'm rubbish at the Nürburgring so will try and give this an attempt and also with that car and setup to see what the fuss is about.

Hey,

I was just wondering whether anyone else has been suffering from the screen freezing/crashing on the Monaco F1 Seasonal Event...?
It only happens coming out of Anthony Noghes (spelling) which is the last chicane before the start/finish straight or halfway down the start/finish just before the line. It's real annoying. It only happens, I've found, on a flying lap so I can't post times as I can't make it to the actual line!

Anyone had this problem?

Cheers

That sometimes happens to me if I'm using someone else's ghost. Try using your own ghost or no ghost at all, it usually fixes the problem.

That is probably a ghost you loaded that is corrupted(or that the game doesn't like for whatever reason). Happens to me now and then when I try to beat my previous times. Like Dazmeister22 said, playing without a ghost(or maybe re-downloading it if it is not yours?) should solve the problem.

I tried the F10 and found I was roughly a second slower than the F2007 on a similar looking lap, it might just require a good setup and the right driving style to get the most out of it. I'm 3rd now but I think I will need to go faster to maintain position as there are a couple that look likely to beat my time.
