A rule of GTP is to not use words to suggest laziness. So before being admonished, refrain from using "u" to mean "you," "ur" to mean "your/you're," etc. Just saying...

I might try the wet Spa-Francorchamps again. Maybe use a less beastly car to take on the course.

Golded the first one with the GT-R v-spec 0'9
The second one with GT-R R35 TC

great fun.
👍

Just because I'd never used it before, I used the Tuscan RM for the drift trials. 'Stock' as after race modification - no settings adjustments, just dirt and CH tyres respectively. It was a bit bouncy on the dirt but worked fine after a few attempts.

So far just attempted the first TT using C63 AMG (well modded into a track car but needs good setup) and Lexus LFA (just weight reduction and slight detune). Struggled with both - found them a bit heavy, understeery on entry and tail happy under power. Really struggling with grip and got bronze with C63 and silver with LFA. Got a feeling I'll be jumping on the GTR or R390 bandwagon:rolleyes:

I´ve learned by my lazy mistake:) I do agree that it is nicer to read real words and sentences. To defend myself i poor way, I used my phone to comment the thing about PP or HP and it is easy to be lazy when you´ve got it set to Swedish language. But I won´t do it again:)

I challenged myself to win the dry TT, in a stock Evora, with just the +1 engine, and exhast mods, to win gold in 2:40:xxx, at 515pp, about 25% less HP than allowed. it slides like mad if not careful. I did it with a higher rear end, softer rear springs, and more rear toe. The front was purely 0.

I've searched the tuning forum to no avail on some setups for these. Anybody have anything they want to share?

I've watched some of the top 10 replays and those cars handle nothing like what I'm driving. I've messed around trying to make them handle but I'm not that great at it. Currently stuck back around the top 1000 with ill handling cars.

Thanks!

I used the tune from praiano on the 2J and the 390.

Here is the one for the 2J:

LSD Rear 08/20/05

Ride Height 00/-05

Spring Rate 15.2/16.5
Extension 9/6
Compression 8/7
Anti-roll bars 1/2
Camber 2.4/1.6
Toe -0.03/+0.14

Brake Balance 6/7

And for the 390:

Tuned to the max with aero kit.

Transmission how to process:
1- Select default
2- Select final gear at 3429 (STOCK)
3- Select top speed at 360 km/h =223,7 mph
4- Set each gear at this ratio:
1: 2780
2: 2008
3: 1519
4: 1193
5: 0968
6: 0813

It 'll give a top speed (above on the right) of 349 km/h = 216,9 mph

Tracks: All around / adapt with final gear to each track

power 687 hp
weight 1062 kg
perf. points 668 pp

Downforce 35/80

LSD Rear 09/30/20

Ride Height -25/-05

Spring Rate 18.0/14.0
Extension 8/3
Compression 7/4
Anti-roll bars 6/4

Camber 1.6/1.4
Toe -0.15/+0.20

Brake Balance 6/7

I changed the power so I could enter the time trial.

Good Luck:)

Thanks! got down to 738 with plenty of mistakes, maybe I can crack the top 250 with this one.

Not sure if this is how to help, but I have shared one of my 1970 2J and 1998 R390 Road cars through my profile. Will this help those who need one of these cars for the Spa events?
PSN = jon413warren

If there is other way to share, I'd be glad to help - PM is best to contact me as I will get an audible alert.

690HP Spa-Francorchamps / Weather Time Trial
Period of Availability: 2012/01/11 22:00 - 2012/01/25 22:00
Gold: Cr.250,000 Silver: Cr.150,000 Bronze: Cr.100,000

This one I cannot gold in. I use the 2J and my best driving and I still miss it by 0.8 sec. I've tried different tuning, no idea how to gold it.

The GT-R R35 TC gives you a more stable ride compared to the LMP's etc. The lap needs to be smooth, but gold should not be too much hassle. It wont be a top 10 time, but it should get you through

Using Wet tires and adjusting ride height(front up, rear down)? Are you messing with the differential settings?

Brad-ferrari
Is anyone still sharing the 2J? Really would appreciate it.

Struggling to even get close to the 2:38 with my garage.

Hi Brad!
Send me a friends request so I can add you. I've got the 2j for share.
You have to tune it because it is 0 km on it. A good tune can you find in this thread. Perhaps you need to higher the front a bit. I did'nt on my other 2j and I think i worked fine.
Good luck:)

Cheers mate, Your a top block. :)

Friend request sent.

Hi Y'all,

I have a 2J to share. If anyone needs one for the TT, PM me and I will try to add you asap.

Fun time trials at Spa, now all we need is a proper Nordschleife TT. :)

2.26.177 in the Spa 493 HP event, currently 310th. Still left about half a second on track. I have the R390 I used up for share if anyone wants it, just add me Obsidian-2

Did not put much effort into the wet event, but I have the 2J up for share as well.

The Spa TT was fun. Rather than shoot for a fast time in the R390, I went down my car list to find something that had almost exactly 493hp. I came across a Dodge Viper SRT10 '03. I had never driven it and since it was from the UCD it was sitting at 492hp (no oil change). It was a bit heavy based on the restrictions but I figured I would give it a shot.

With only about 10 laps on the track before stepping into the Viper, none of which were in a car with this much power, I wasn't expecting to break any records. My first lap was about 10 seconds off pace. My second lap, I was down to 5 seconds. After 5 laps I achieved the silver medal...but I knew there was more time to be found. I hovered around 1 second off pace for several laps and then started taking some risks. I learned some fast lines but also started picking up penalties. After 20 laps I finally nailed all my sectors clean and got gold with half a second to spare!

Ok, so it's not a 2:2x.xxx but it's an honest 2:40 in an overweight car with no downforce that has not been tuned. It was a blast to drive. I cursed the gearing and the snap oversteer until I finally learned to work with it. A refreshing hour away from my overtuned race machines battling with modern American muscle.

Anyone else know of a completely stock car that will hit gold?

Yay, first top ten classification! #6 at the wet TT with a 2.19.06 :) These two TTs were a blast!

Seconded to the post above me, Congrats!

I too, had tons of fun with the Spa Wet one..I really really like rain as I'm quite good in it. Personally finished #38 (Could have gone lower, but I stopped practicing, Stick used) which is an immense accomplishment since I usually go no higher than 80-150th in the dry. Even better though I'm the fastest American, yay.

Cool, I'm even shortly featured in the vid above. ;)

Thanks man, great job on the top US-spot! 👍 Yeah this TT was all about practice, compared to Zkippe's lap my lines were kinda funky but I had to as I can not be as precise with the throttle wit the DS3 (I use the old-school X and square for throttle/brake, not the stick). Therefore I had to drive off the ideal line as much as possible to be able to get on the power soon and maximize traction.

Oh wow, You seriously used the X and Square buttons? I could never imagine being able to drive with them..They just feel so imprecise. Have you tried using the analogue sticks?

In other news, We're right next to each other on the Rome Trial - #64 for me, #65 you. Odd eh?

Edit: Nevermind, I shaved a bit more time.

Yeah I did notice that! But I did a 1.09.5 a couple of hours ago so lets see what you can do today. ;)

On the buttons, I use the stick for steering but for the throttle I just can't work with the stick. The main complaint I have is that I can't push the throttle and brake at the same time with the stick.
