Ok, so I’ve tested the way you said, and, I am a bite undecided.
The way it is, the car has stability, its more soft and I don’t need to worry about the irregularities of the pavement, but I need to apply more the breaks and it doesn’t do the curve, has quicker that with the a more lower Spring Rate.

With a low Spring Rate (and I tested min/min) do the curves quicker, but spins a little and, with a low Spring Rate and a low Ride Height, the suspension can bottom up.

So I’ve lowered a bit more the Spring Rate, and changed the Ride Height, and I think it is a lot better.

I hope you test the car and these variations, because two opinions are better than one…

Well, I've just watched the video for GT5 prologue and it was close to a stake through the heart of my GT4 playing... That is to say, I'm not going to be happy with GT until I'm playing GT5. :drool:

Any way, since school is right around the corner and GT5:P isn't far behind that, I'm looking to get another showdown into the works.

The question is this... What should we do about judges and submissions.
Should we keep the original format or should we switch so that everyone can be a judge as long as they judge all cars and keep a fairly unbiased opinion?

Get back to me on this one, I'm looking forward to getting things started.
Btw, I'm even considering going with two classes in the showdown and allow judges to submit for either class then only judging the opposite class. :D
 
What do you do in school?

I'm all for keeping the format as it is, with one or two classes, but with the chance of judges to submit a car, to be judged by everyone else, judges or not.

How does it handle without driving aids? Personally I drive them all (except for the Tank Car) without them.
 
Not too badly but ill edit this, remove aids and edit suspension done soon hopefully

Well, normally I put quotes of other peoples, but this time, is my turn. Actually this car gave me a lot of work. My customer (minichris) wanted Drifting Mazda RX-7. In the beginning I thought that was going to be easy, but when I put my hands to work…I’ve though: I’m in trouble…this car will never drift properly. I’ve P.M. Kent for his advice, but he two didn’t achieve on making this car drift properly. I was running out of ideas on making this car drift…and it was when I applied some logic laws, and EXTREAMITTLY tune the car, in fact, has you can see in the difference between the Front and the Rear Damper, Ride Height and Spring Rate. And what do you know? It worked, I’ve stabilized the amount of spinning the tyres (setup this way) had. All in all, I’ve just two things to say: I’ve made it!!!; and: Never give up of a car, even if it seems impossible to drive/tune or whatever the reason…Nothing it’s impossible, just believe.

After seeing the drift car RX7 posted up with a trial mountain time for comparison it was only a matter of time before I took my Grip RX7 out for a trial mountain run.

The result: 1'31.762 :P

(exactly as listed in post, no gt wing, s3 tires, weight reduction stage 1, etc etc).
Also, I didn't mention it, but this RX was also capable of perfectly controlled and accurate drifts when initiating the drift with the Ebrake. 👍
(although it is so fast I never bothered drifting... Could probably get down under 1'30.0 at trial mtn. if I was a little better and spent a bit more time tuning the RX).

Nothing really... I mean, a few people have left this thread to make tuner threads of their own... A few people have continued posting new projects 👍 ... However, for the most part this thread has been relatively quiet.

I think there might be a few people waiting on a new tuner showdown but I can't be sure of that since my last inquiries were met with little to no response. :indiff:

Kent's Mazda RX-7

Well, what can I say…it is a disaster……….. (Just kidding)
Don’t worry, it is great!!!

Well the first thing I’ve noticed was the breaks, lovely…you don’t need to apply them to many to brake enough, plus they help in the corner (I love brakes set to oversteer).

2nd: The car already drove smoothly, and with the suspension setup…wow what a car (what can I say?).

3rd: Things I didn’t like: well, the transmission was good, but it could be a lot better if it was a little bit short in the beginning (the firsts 3 shifts) and very long on the end (the last two shifts), that way the car would have a better acceleration and it would get (perhaps) a higher top speed., but that is superficial, because the transmission depends a lot on the track, but I think that if it had the specs already mentioned (short beginning and long end) the transmission would get more universal.

Well, compare a drift car with a grip car, it is a bit like comparing a mouse with an elephant…1st I am not habituated to drift car, drifters can do a lot better time than me…plus, although the car I tuned has more horse power, it is running on N3/N2 tyres and has less acceleration (to prevent wheel spin).

I don’t like to much the handbrake drift, plus, for me a drift car is a car that drifts in almost any curve, naturally, without the need of handbrake or shift control.


All in all, the car had a good behavior and I think 9.2/10 it is a well deserved classification.

Also, I'm glad you didn't find the understeer of that car to be overwhelming. I know I tuned it for a just a touch of understeer in certain scenerios but the lack of complaints shows me that you drove the car properly, which is the cause for no complaints. :cheers:

Welcome to the Tuners Garage thread 13thmonkey.

1st. You have to do a garage. Do this by simply posting on this thread, with your garage Title and (if you want (it isn’t need)) a description. Then, after making the garage, you have to link you car to the garage. To do this click on the post number (in your case #838) and copy the link that is on your “browser” (where you put the www. And stuff…) and link it to your garage. See some of the garages on the first post, to have an idea.

2nd. Read the instructions on the first post:
