TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - ENDURO Racing Series - PRACTICE TONIGHT!

Unbelievable race. I can't believe it all went my way! Few spins right in front of me (ffk got taken out) I got tapped and spun at full speed on lap 2 through the grass back on track and drove thru a huge wreck back to fifth from 2nd. Then I let my tires go down and spun all by myself luckily right in front of pit road.

I really didn't know how the pits would play out between tx, mic, and I. We were swapping the lead every ten laps or so.

All in all it was very intense the WHOLE time! Good job everybody!

Ya I probably would have finished somewhere around mbobb if I hadn't spun out there. I went just one lap too many on those tires, and they couldn't handle it.

I saw that, as soon as you disappeared you went offline. For me, it was fun while it lasted! 👍

Definitely a frustrating moment when I disconnected, I just turned my PS3 off :grumpy:

Super fun race though, this being my first NASCAR anything (haven't even done the A Spec event), I was quite surprised when I qualified 3rd (got dropped to 9th when I left track to change tires during qually) and found myself leading toward the beginning of the race.

Same here, I went just one lap too long, but after I spun my tires were completely gone, no tread left, so I spun a few times going back on track, which ended up costing me 3 laps.

Also, what was up with the pits this race? They kept spinning me out upon entering them, and kept resetting me at the start of the pits. Hell, even when I didn't spin out & slowed down enough to safely enter the pits, it STILL reset me at the start of the pit lane. This put me behind some of the people I was pitting with, and I ended up losing drafting partners because of it.

Edit-sorry if I was following you & lightly bumping you and you didn't like it. Just trying to bump draft & make you go faster so we could both catch the next guy quicker ;)

I was doing good at the beginning of the race I had pole position and then on Lap 2 or 3 I got clipped and it went all downhill from there.

I'M in. Psn is michrulejj and could I get #22 Orange car and Orange wheels. Thanks. Division 2 thanks.

Hey michrulejj, great to have you join us. 👍 The color combination and car number you selected are already being used. If you would like to choose a unique color combination and car number please refer to the drivers list. Thanks, and welcome to the Turtle Racing League!

Yeah I saw that! I saw someone spin and take a bunch of guys out, I was just lucky not to get caught up in it!

Edit-unfortunately I'm going out of town for the weekend, so I'm going to miss Saturday's
Race at Laguna Seca :(
This sucks because I bought the car a month ago and have been practicing since! (I enjoy laguna seca). I'll see you guys next at the 'ring GP/F! (I still may attend the practices this week just for the fun of it :))

I had only run a few 25-30 lap races in NASCARS before this race. But, what I learned was not to race against other cars but to use other cars. When you have other drivers that have learned that lesson as well, the races go much smoother, safer, and faster.

I would like to see another Daytona 500 for those of us that got disconnected or were not able to attend the race. 👍

I would like to see that too, maybe the Indy 500 just to change it up though?

I would also like to see a Ferrari F1 race if possible like we discussed a bit earlier this season. Any word on that Mbobb/Turtle Racer? last time we talked about it, you said it was being discussed.

I agree, after the first 10 or 20 laps everything seemed to settle. The last half of the race it was definitely easier running in a group. Of coarse MBobb was pushing my slow but the whole time, great race. It was interesting to feel the power and average lap times drop as the race progressed as well.

Here's a few pics I took of the race:

I really like this one. MBobb's pit crew is climbing the barrier to get to work and Mic's crew left his car in the air without front tires while they watch MBobb's. Time for a new crew Mic.

Id like to join :)

Great, we are certainly glad to have you. 👍 If you would like, you can choose a unique color combination and car number by referring to the drivers list to see what color combinations and numbers have already been chosen. Thanks, and welcome to the Turtle Racing League!

That's a shame, especially since you won! :grumpy:

I just want to see my wreck and save on lap 2!

Someone spun in front of me and put me spinning into the grass. I guess it caused a big wreck because when I spun back on track I got it in check and passed thru a smokescreen of cars! Didnt hurt my tires cause of the grass and got back in line in 5th!

Can u send a save replay from one ps3 to another? I'll even mail a USB thumb drive to someone and pay to mail it back to me, just to get the replay on my ps3.. Anyone wanna help a brotha out? Lol

If I didn't disconnect, I would've just sent you a USB with it on there for you to keep! Sorry :/

the race replay file ended up being too large to export from gt5, so i cant upload it for you.

I watched the replay late last night and it was fun.

i thought i might have had you on pit strategy Drex/NjLowrider, but your very nice 23 lap stint on a set of tires before your last pit stop was very impressive. you slowed in the corners and used every car you could to get around the track 👍:) very nice indeed! unfortunately i was driving alone a lot that last 40 laps or so of the race and that cost me some time as others had drafting partners (not to mention the early struggles getting settled in). I also got stuck with a pit box near pit entrance that failed to give me enough time to set my gas fill-up strategy properly a couple times (losing valuable seconds and drafting partners). i think i picked up 3 places purely on pit strategy during the race though.

about pit in Afrodeezy: from practice, i noticed if you enter the pits below the yellow line on this track, it will spin you out and reset your entrance a lot. if you enter ABOVE the yellow line instead, it's smooth sailing as long as you get your speed down to like 75 or something like that, if you go faster it just resets your entrance. I don't know if it's a flaw or not, but the entrance to pit lane seems to be the small turn off above the yellow line rather than below it.

Lots more i could add about the race as i had a blast with it. :dopey:

some very fast laps set early in the race (41.6xx - Drex had fast lap); then like martin said, as the race wore on, the cars slowed a lot. that was interesting. It was fun to learn the bump draft and how must faster you could go! 👍 to whomever it was that pushed me the first time to show me the way. might have been TX_executioner , either way, thanks dude for the laps and laps of bump drafting we ran together

and next time guys, if you're off pace because of spin or whatever, please try to stay as low as you can on the track when getting back up to speed. No reason to potentially ruin someone else's race when it's easily avoidable.

I think we should do Indy next time much harder as your going have to actually stop.

Also in the race did anybody make a clutch attempt of running to the bathroom to go pee during their pit stop :P

I had the fortune of having a few lapped cars in front of me. I was trying to save the tires so I would let off a lot in the turns then draft to 230+ down the straights. I lost count of the laps I was putting on so I let the tires dictate when I came in. I had no idea I went 23 laps! I knew if I pushed every turn I could go 17. So I went to lap 183 for my final pit then hammered down the rest of the way! I never race nascar!

I had a lot of help tho! I worked with everybody!

Infinital-NG knows how to do it. I know you use "yousendit".

Thanks for the good racing last night guys. I got caught up in one of the early accedents, then stayed out 1 lap too long and spun. It was really fun we will have to do something similar again.:)

Nice pics martin. I really like the one where your 5 ft in the air.
Thanks
