Really sorry I couldn't make it everyone. My power went out due to a really windy night. One of the tree limbs fell on the wire right by the transformer and short circuted. I think it short circuted, I don't know what happened. :banghead: 🤬 :banghead:

Thank you for letting us know what happened, we appreciate it. We hope to see you tonight at practice! 👍

Went into the lounge to practice, and my out lap was.. Embarrassing to say the least, as all my braking points on this track are based on driving F1 cars (braking at 50m before the complex after the Kemmel Straight at 215MPH), so I had a fair amount of off-track excursions :dopey:

First lap made a few mistakes which resulted in a 2:17.8, but then my second lap was probably my cleanest overall with a 2:13.612. Is that competitive or do I need to work more based on what you guys are running so far? (keep in mind I've only had time to do three laps so I'm sure I can shave off some time as I get more comfortable with the car.)

As for the tire wear, I'm struggling hard.. I can barely get 3 or 4 truly competitive laps before the performance just drops off and the car is near un-drivable :nervous: :scared:

you're where we were after a few laps Afro.
in fact, it took us quite a while to turn a clean lap on the track to post a time Saturday night:D

like you, we had run the track in different cars, so we had to figure out the braking zones.
anyway, once we settled down and ran clean laps we were running from a fast of 2:11 (martin) down to the 2:20's; but the 2:1x's seemed to be the average lap times i think, so you are right in there having only done a few laps.

Hey Afrodeezy, you're alive! :D If you are doing 2:13.612 after only 3 laps you will do just fine. martin_ky did a 2:10.xxx in a pick up race after Cape Ring.

Please put me back in Driver A as I should be active again. Not sure if I'd have to give my combinations again or not though.

Your color combination and car number are both still available so I'll put you back in Division A. Welcome back! 👍

Okay, I'm going to need a lot of practice if I'm even going to compete in the race! Didn't have have any good practice laps and was never paying attention to the brake in the first turn.

Pouhon is my nemesis. i will be trying to figure out that corner all practice.
There quite a few corners that can make or break a fast lap. Every so often I'll catch a rear left in the grass going into turn 14 and end up in the sandbox.

Yes, to be proficient on this track takes lots of practice. We practice again on Friday night. We hope to see you there! 👍

Ya it is a tough track. Many of the corners happen on hills, and some almost seem to have a negative bank to them, which makes cornering difficult. At least this car has reasonably good downforce to keep it on the track.

Fantastic practice last night! Tire wear is going to be as important in this race as it was at Cape Ring. 👍

Sorry I had to bail last night, the car just wasn't working for me and I had a massive headache. Should be good for tomorrow night.

Now worries, it wouldn't be much fun with a headache. We hope to see you tomorrow night! 👍

Had a good time at practice last night, I'm definitely still climbing the learning curve this car/track brings with it though. During the practice race my fastest lap was 2:11.4, but as my tires started to go I made a lot of mistakes which wore them even more, and killed my lap times.

Definitely need to work more on finding a nice balance of tire wear/lap time, but I'm looking forward to this one, should be an interesting battle for sure 👍

Can the September 8, 2012 Cape Ring Division Winners DREX81, RidgelineDiv, and shred-tec please choose your prize. Either the 1966 Birthday Ticket or 1967 Birthday Ticket. Thanks, and Congratulations!

Btw, not that i expext to win an event up against such stiff competition, but just on the offchance: i already have all the cars i want. Just here to practice drafting/overtaking. Thanks in advance. Seat time more valuable than cars.

Hey Avgas712, if you have a mic be sure to ask questions during practice. As you know there will be lots of guys there in practice to help you. If you don't have a mic you are certainly welcome to ask questions here in the thread. 👍
