The practice schedule looks great. Looking forward to dusting off the classics. Love all three, not sure what's best for my limited track time there. The Ring and I have our differences for sure, heh.

While the pingtest is a nice tool, it's not really relative to disconnects. The public lounges we connect to are hosted either by Sony or PD. Granted we want a nice connection anyway, but just relying on that pingtest is not very conclusive to saying "oh I get an A i shouldn't have any problems"

One bad apple can wreck the whole room is a good train of thought.

A couple of things you guys can do to help somewhat is:

1. Set a static IP on your router. (not a big deal but for later steps you will need)
2. Make sure your at least running on Nat 2 or Nat 1.
3. Setup port forwarding for your PS3
4. Setup QOS (Quality of Service) for your ps3. That basically you can set your ps3 to use as much bandwidth as possible and all other devices on your network have to work with the rest of the available bandwidth.
5. Make sure you are hard-wired to your PS3. If you were on wireless then plugged in a network cable, the ps3 will still use the wireless until you change the settings.

All these steps I plan to outline for you guys in the next day or two.

Granted doing these things will not cause any disconnects, but at least we can do everything possible on our end to try and stop them.

thanks ice but I only got the win because Div-A laged

Ntc3nut
Lag did happen but you drove well enough to win no matter how bad the lag was.
You hung in there and were there at the end and thats what matters.👍
good race Ntc3nut. dont sell yourself short.:)

http://www.pingtest.net/

The group I used to race had everyone perform a ping connection test from their PS3. Lower number results are better. A score of "B" is really the minimum for trying to race online. One bad connection will infect the whole room. I've heard it's the best way to test your online gaming connection.

Congrats to the winners and it was fun mixing it up in race 2. Everyone who stayed raced nice and clean. I think I probably should stick to the practices for now. After a day of yard work and chasing the kids, my arm was plenty sore. Wasn't going to run but wanted to give it a go. Couldn't push hard and kept making mistakes-off course a couple times and a penalty. Race 2 just wore me down and was relieved to get kicked, sad to say.

Thank ncrthree, I got it from him. 👍

i tried to run the test from my ps3 and it's crappy browser. never could get it to work and then my ps3 crashed and froze. do we have any browser options on the ps3?

Looking forward to your walk-through. Tried to do this myself but couldn't get past step one. I could find IP, but didn't know if it could be used as static, or if it was generated. Computers aren't my strong suit.

Micantony, don't sweat it. Unless people say you're lagging or you're getting disconnected a lot I wouldn't make a big deal about it.

I'm no techie for sure, just was told that the ping test was the way to test your online gaming connections.

Might have a problem getting one of those 20 million credit cars. Im trying to rank up and get as much credits asap but IDK

Spaz-check the seasonal forum for the fastest way to roll up some credits. I know the FWD seasonal event at Cape Ring is a cash cow. It's super easy and you can win with a pretty low pp car.

Ok cool thanks

That sucks to hear about all the disconnects in devision 2/A. I ran the ping test from my laptop while my ps3 was on and scored a B*. I'm assuming that's good. I'll rerun it later when nothing else is on. I'll take a level 67 ticket also. Next week will be fun, just need to decide on what car to drive, the Ford or the Jag.

66 ticket for me please.

I'm taking the LSAT on Saturday so I wont be driving this week... See you guys at Motegi.

You're next. martin_ky beat you to it. :ouch:

I wish I was ready.:nervous:

I hear you. I finally got to try each car last night though; so that's a first step!
