Turtle Racing League – NĂĽrburgring Racing Series

RACE -4 | April 7, 2013 | W12 Nardo Concept '01 | Nordschleife | RM | Level 16 Ticket

Welcome to the Turtle Racing League Dreadx13.
We look forward to racing with you.
See you on track.

it was fun, but we also all had our own individual issues during the race which made it an odd race.

1. Dolph's TV turned off early in the race. At least that's his excuse for his crashes:P
2. Psycho had sound issues that distracted him causing 2 crashes around Aremburg allowing us to catch up to him (he had a nice lead early on)
3. I arrived in lobby just as the race was about to start, so i got no warm-up and the first 2 laps were...interesting, shall we say :dunce: i kept thinking the races started at 10PM
4. Phisher seemed to have a hard time with that Car/Track combination, but hopefully he enjoyed it. He figured out eventually to stay off the curbs lol. But he stuck it out for 11 laps! kudos my man:tup:
5. LittleRegret was fast, but had an unfortunate disconnect after only a few laps
6. Liam was late (10PM, sorry we missed you) and kept trying to connect to the room distracting us as we struggled to control this sliding/bouncing beast:irked:

Anyway, i enjoyed it once i got settled into the race. Then, as i crossed the finish line, i realized i was the only person on track:confused:
Apparently, with 1/2 lap to go i got partially disconnected. I finished the race on my game and my victory saying came up on others screen, but i was not in the replay and was gone from the race. it was weird.

ANyway, not many showed up, but it was a fun battle (both with myself and the car and with the other racers)

Quite eventful! I operated on my headphones at work so I'll check them out tonight when I get home. It was a complete pain driving with the sound going on and off then finally completely off. Driving with no sound was tough but I got used to to it. Driving with the sound going on and off was very distracting especially when I was jiggling the wires to try to get my headphones to work. I eventually did for a few laps then the sound went out completely. I ended up with a couple of sweet laps and had lots of fun!

what did you end up using for BB psycho? I originally had mine at 7/4, but by race day i found 4/1 much more to my liking with a more conservative approach to several corners.

7/0, it was really hard to stop for some reason and it pushed a little in the corners. Man I am glad you finished the race. That would have been a real bummer on the last lap.

That happened last week with Dragonwhiskey also very strange. His win message came up and everything, but he was'nt in the replay.

It was a tough race, and if I had been more consistent, I might have still been up front before the disconnect. I'm definitely hooked though, and I'll be ready for next week, especially since I'm not running the Enduro series on Saturday. Great racing yesterday, despite all the problems

1. Dolph's TV turned off early in the race. At least that's his excuse for his crashes:P

That only excuses that particular crash. The others were all my fault (though I will blame a very annoying ladybug that kept trying to land on my hand and flying in front on my face for the crashes on the final lap, talk about distracting). It was weird, though. I don't know if we had an electricity surge or what, but the lights flashes brightly for a split second, and my TV decided it would turn itself off. Unfortunately, in my panic, I didn't have the wherewithal to hit the start button to ghost my car. I can only imagine what you were thinking when you were behind me, micantony. :boggled: I was able to make up the 40 seconds with my pit strategy and speed, but for some reason I really struggled on my last stint. I'll pull a Tony Stewart and blame Goodyear for a bad set of tires. :sly:

I'm still not sure what happened to you on the last lap. You disappeared from the race about halfway through the final lap on my screen, as it said I won. Clearly I didn't, though. Nice job on the win. đź‘Ť

I apologize for bailing mid-race last night. First, I realized i jumped into the wrong Car (i have 6 of these babies!) and I didn't have an oil change; the 20 HP made such a difference, i really didn't want to practice my lines and braking without a proper car.
Second, my family came home from their little spring vacation and i had to help tuck the kiddies into bed and unpack the van.
I probably should have just pulled over, but i wanted to check out the car to see why it felt funny to me.

FYI: unless i'm mistaken, you do not need to break in standard cars. Even the 0/0/0 ones come fully broken in once you do an oil change on it.

No worries micantony. I think you just change the oil and it's ready.

Sunday Liam for the M3 GTR race. not sure what flex is running tonight.

The Ferrari 512BB and the BMW coupe '07 at suzuka circuit

Is it too late to join this series?
If not I would like to give it a try, I think I might even be able to make tonights race if possible
I would still use my White on White color scheme with good ol' number 57

No, it's not too late. In fact, it's a great time to join. The BMW M3 is absolutely excellent around the track. Remember race time is 9pm Eastern not 10pm. Thanks and we look forward to racing with you on the ring!

I haven't had a chance to test the car, other than the 1 lapper we did a couple nights ago in the FLEX Series. It handled great, but I have no idea how bad the tire wear is going to be, thus I have no set strategy. Guess I'll have to play it by ear. Got home from work not long ago and getting ready to eat dinner. Otherwise I'd take it to the track for a couple laps for a shakedown.
