Hi Y'All:
Rule Modification to be announced in about 20 minutes!!!

:D Meanwhile, just ran this for the first time in several days & managed to shave a little off my time. I'm always reluctant to offer my set-up as I'm most often NOT sure why it's working, but at the moment this one seems to be working well. Softened the Sway Bars a bit ala phattboy's suggestion & it helped LOTS over the rumbles. From your comments I'm guessing I'm having less of an understeer problem than some of you. Anyway, if you think they'll help I'd be glad to "PM" anyone my current set-up...UB57 :D

EDIT: OK, fitted the "Proper" Tyres & gave 'er another shot. Running T-2s of 58.3-59.0 / Best Lap 1'31.396 / M.O.V. 1.877. Took me at least 10-12 Reloads to get a Race w/"Specified" foe, wanted to get one good race "In the Can" before looking for a combo that also has the Lister. Good Luck All...UB57 :D

Pretty fast times there UB 👍

Are we not supposed to share setup info in the thread... cause if not, WHOOPS!!! Sorry! :guilty:

Rule Modification:

Due to the fact that I had to limit chassis tuning & require a "Hard" Tyre in order to make this thing competitve:

One Wall "KISS" (NO "Thumps) per 5 Laps will be allowed. (NOT Counting any initiated by the "AI.")
SO if you "Over Cook" it ONCE your time is still good!!! There's still almost exactly a Week to go until deadline & only two times have been submitted so hopefully this change will not cause any problem.
THANX for Understanding...UB57

@ phattboy: I'm considering this an extension of the "WRS" so any set-up/strategy sharing is Strongly Encouraged. 👍

On another note: Anyone who saw the times listed in my Post a couple above this one, Please disregard. :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed: I still had "Soft" tyres on!!! :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:

 Wow! I  s this one though race Bob!! What is the rule again on AI contact?
Hiya GT3mich:
:D Feel free to "Rub Paint" with 'em all you want, just don't use them to "Assist" your line thru a corner. Watch out for the "Specified" competitor the Last Lap, he seems to get quite a "Boost"
Sounds like you're enjoying it! 👍...UB57 :D

Well HOT Dam! I didn't know paybacks down the straights were legal. Woohoo! That will actually make it much more fun! I don't care how much time I lose, as long as I get to ram that bastard back.....LOL.

Here is an interesting phenomenom in the ongoing saga...

Decided to run a couple races tonight to see if I could improve. Found another line up on load up that included the infamous "Big Dog" and the butthead Lister along with Winkin', Blinkin' and Nod the NSX triplets.

Here is the interesting part: First race, I won 👍 I won it clean with an MOV of 1.9xx. However, it was fully a two+ seconds slower than my already submitted time so I decided to restart the same race to give it another go. Gladly accepting the new rule of one wall kiss at the ugly on lap 4, I went on to win this race otherwise clean with an MOV of about .5xx seconds. Get this, the overall time was faster than my submitted time

The physics of the rubberband are going to put an interesting twist on this race for sure. Good thing you have the leaderboard so we can submit our times and thereby figure out some idea of where we are falling in the overall scope. It definately isn't about winning in the game! 👍 Good idea with the leaderboard UB!

Thank you for that splendid offer, UB. 👍 I could really use those settings.

Racing time is limited this week (you know, work blah blah, family blah blah, weekly, no blah blah here etc), so it would be nice to simply start racing, without the very time consuming "tune it yourself". Furthermore I've never been OLR'ing on this track, so I first need to do some hard work in free run to familiarize with the lines. Boring but absolutely necessary, I assume from the race reports that has been posted.

One last thing. Thank you very much for your rule modification. That should make it possible to actually submit a time without loosing the sparse hair I've got left.

Hi Y'All:
:D I really wanted to be able to list the required "Time to Beat" the "Specified Foe" but from input by CFM, phattboy (above) & Neon Duke plus my own observations I don't think there is one!!! I mistakenly drove two races yesterday on softer tyres (I should have known something was wrong as my time was much faster thean CFM's & thats NOT likely for me!!! ) Even with very different Race times the "Margin" seems to remain about the same so I must assume the "AI" does NOT have a "Minimum" run time for this race.
Der Alta & I have run the Tokyo Rte 246 Enduro so many times we pretty much know exactly what it takes to win & I had kinda "Assumed" this race would be the same. Can't give you any help on that score but I can warn you about the "Specified Foe" / watch out on the Last Lap as he makes up ground VERY Quickly!!! Hoping to see some more times soon! 👍...UB57 :D

Hey NielsG: How are those settings working out? Cutting down any on the "Hair Loss"???

Tanks for the settings UB. :) They work fine for me. Nice handling and not much under-steer. 👍

Now I only need a lot of speed, some consistency, faster reaction times, better cornering skills, a little luck, hair at the top and some more speed. :D

Well, some more tweaking is beginning to tame the understeer a little, but the "magic bullet" autobox transmission failed me miserably. At the end of the back straight I was at least 8 seconds out behind the leader, instead of more like 1 or 2 seconds. Shifting is so habitual now I have to think about not thinking about it.

I have to say, I'm getting mighty fed up with the disparity between AI nudges and my nudges. They can squeeze inside and push me off line at will, but if I try to even defend my line (let alone push them off theirs), I'm the one who gets scraped off against the wall.

Sorry the "magic bullet" didn't work for you neon_duke... I understand what you are saying about shifting being so habitual that you have to think about not shifting  But hey, ya never know :D

So UB... Having fun yet? Send me them settings to try out and see if I can beat ya with 'em :D

P.S. The Calsonic Skyline is more competition for me than the required AI car. In fact, that car is behind me for the entire race after turn 2. :)

I have found that in several of the other venues as well where the "Big Dog" is less of a threat than the Penzoil dork or in another the Tom's cheater.

BTW... That is a smokin' lap in this race/car/track combo 👍

Got down to brass tacks last night. The first race time I turned in was without any real attempt at tuning. So I ran about 20 laps messing around with the limited settings available, then ran about 200 miles worth of hauling-assness:dopey:

Let's just say I made a nice improvenment:sly:

I'm willing to bet the 200 miles was more the culprit for the "nice improvement" :D

Unfortunately, when I do get the chance for a couple races here it is more like getting my assness-hauled aroundness and then handed to me

I'm seeing some pretty darn good lap times here 👍 Be interesting to see where they fall on the leaderboard with the MOV twist. ;)

WOW!!! I'LL SAY!:eek::eek: What, did you run the first race in reverse??? GREAT Time CFM 👍 Actually a VERY Pleasant surprise this AM to find several Great times in my PM Box. Leaderboard Updated.

@ phattboy: Settings on the way but if I were you I think I'd be "Sweet Talking" CFM so maybe he'll share his set-up w/you!!!

"Good Show" All  we're havin' phun now!!!...UB57 :D

Thanks for the kind words UB, I really doubt my setup has much to do with it. I would be willing to bet, out of all the GT3 players in the world, I have probably done more laps on Seattle II that anyone. I always share my setups in the weekly, but I'm undecided here. There's not alot to adjust really... I'll probably post them this weekend along with a nice free run lap for people to chase if they like. Then again I kinda like this leaderboard thing, so it might be fun to keep them a secret:sly:

By the way, that latest run was 100% clean, just a couple AI rubs:tup: And I use MT, since the spot on the leaderboard is blank. I didn't know we were submitting trans info.:dunce:

I love 5 lap races, I wish we did more of them in the Weekly. It's a real test of manhood:mischievous: (Or womanhood if Kelly's around:) )

No Problem: 👍
:D Kind of an "afterthought" on my part, thought maybe we'd all like to know what controller everyone else is using. "Egg's" & your info added to the Leaderboard...UB57 :D

I'll bite.

How do I get into this exclusive club race? :D

"Welcome Aboard" 👍

Edit / Update: Took heed of CFM's advice & ran several Races today. Fiddled w/settings & did more harm than good so put 'em back, then dropped Stabs 1 "Click" each ala phattboy's advice. Took about 1.6 seconds total off & then backed it up within 2/10s so think I've reached MY Limit. Sorry CFM :guilty: someone else's gonna have to provide you some competiton unless I can string 5 "Miracle" Laps together! I did however run my first "In Race" sub 1'31 Lap & had my first 2+ second MOV! :)

OK, posted my first win this morning, which dropped my time significantly. I couldn't repeat it, though, and I gave up after the 20th time I got head-jammed into the wall at the end of the back straight. Hopefully I will get another session, because I have the car a little too loose under braking or lift-throttle, trying to combat the power understeer. Got into the 1':31"s for the first time, and it was a slim MOV but at least it's not a loss!

I don't think I'll be taking part. I don't have the car and I'm busy practising for the 300 laps of Midfield. So sorry not to take part but thanks anyway.

"Good Show" Duke!!! 👍
:D I think you found the "Race" that I wanted everyone to find. Just "Win-able" by the slimmest of margins. I'll bet the replay is GREAT!!!

@ Blake: Sorry to lose you, Good Luck at Midfield! 👍...UB57 :D

If you're having troouble getting passed at the end of the back straight, try to block out the offending driver. As you approach the corner, stay on the RIGHT side of the track, about 2/3rds of the way over.the AI will then try to pass on the left. As you get close to the braking zone, drift back over to the left slowly. Then you must brake a bit earlier than usual, but don't use 100% braking power at first. The AI car will then be stuck on your left and then guess who gets rammed into the wall:dopey: It will probably take a few tries to figure out what I mean but then it shouldn't be too tough to pull it off:tup:
