Der Alta
Not One. Not one clean friggin race. I've been at it for 4 straight hours, trying to get a clean race. At first I spent a bit of time tweaking the settings. After about 45 minutes I realize those didn't matter, because the CLK and the Lister drove like they were on crack. When PD did the programming, they apparently forgot to tell the AI that all 5 cars can't fit through the pit stop chicane.
Seriously, it would have been better off blasting all six cars into that corner with a bazooka, and letting the outside wall sort out who should lead the remainder of the race. The city section was miserable. I've seen a ping pong ball bounce around less than the AI cars. I felt like I was trying to run through a snow storm and avoid the snowflakes.
I was rearended so hard at one point, while I was trying to thread the needle through that chicane, that I hit the first wall and bounced back, spinning sideways into the outside wall. Yet the friggin CLK barely registered any difference in path.
Sorry UB, but I can't do this one.

I couldn't agree more!!!
Only way I found through that point was either:
Wait just at the rear of the pack with a slight delay and on the power curve such that as they bounce back off the wall, shoot by them, hit the brakes just right and take the hit from behind as you slip into third place going around the sharp left. Unfortunately, the delay on launch costs you in first lap time leaving you at around a 1'38.xxx- 1'39.xxx. Pretty tough to make up to secure a good time in five laps.
OR...
Take fourth at launch prior to the chicane. There are several fields the AI presents where that can be done... For example: Big Dog, Penzoil, Skyline, Benz, Lister. In that field, you follow tight to the Penzoil at launch and wind up fourth through the chicane. Take the hit from the Skyline in the side before the chicane and the hit from the Benz in the butt as you go through the chicane. As the Penzoil bounces off the wall, you can slip by him and the Lister if you do it right and you end up chasing the Big Dog for nearly a lap. This is faster on first lap time but requires a lot of restarts to get it right and get it clean... Faster first lap to me is somewhere in the 1'36.xxx range.
I am to the point with this race I am so mad at it
that I am going for a completely clean win. No hits- No runs- No errors. Not by AI to me and not by me to AI. If I get a good time and do okay in the OLR fine... so be it... I don't care about that part anymore... I just wanna prove sumthin to the AI I guess
This race is a trainer for sure.
EDIT: By the way... In case you haven't noticed yet the time stamps the game gives you seem to be different in different races. For example: The venues where all three NSXs show up or the venue with both Supras it seems you can achieve faster laps and subsequently faster race time than other venues. Some of that could be attributed to track placement by the chicane and therefore setting the stage for the balance of the race. I found one that I could pass all but the Lister before the chicane, cranked out a 1'36.low first lap and couldn't get below 1'32.mid to save my soul for the remaining laps. Switched to the three NSX where I couldn't pass anyone before the chicane, cranked out a 1'38.mid first lap and then ran subsequent laps consistent 1'31.xxx.
Driver error you say? How dare you question that!
I think not! Dumb game I think!
