Dateline 10:00 pm MDT, June 23, 2004- Here's the story...
First lap mayhem... In a brilliant display of fortitude and will,
phattboy makes 14,275,325.001 restarts against the field. In all those restarts, not one is he able to clear the "bowling alley" through the first hard left without a game of "ping pong" in which someone smacks him or he smacks them and one or the other loses. On restart xxx.002 however, phattboy is clean to the hard left. At which point, he is holding his line with the Castrol NSX cutting across abruptly as they enter the hard left at the end of the "bowling alley". In spite of phattboy being full on his brakes to avoid it, the Castrol NSX and phattboy trade paint. On exit then phattboy takes one in the butt from the Arta NSX. To himself, phattboy muses, "Screw it, relaxed rules apply... I'll take that..." and continues on (Mostly cause he'd had enough).
Subsequently, he runs a fairly fast remaining 5 laps that is squeaky clean.
I'm going to submit that time and although it is likely not good enough for a podium, I'll post the replay and ya'all can decide whether under these rules it's legit.
The only perfectly clean race (IE: no hits, no runs, no errors, no paint trades, etc) I was able to get I was seven seconds off the pace and something inside me (Same thing that got me here in the first place, I suppose) won't allow me to post that time.
