Okay,
Bob, your settings are the bomb!!!!!
I have just run several laps in the 1'19's In fact I almost broke into the 1'18's 👍
My MOL is down to 19'753
And I finished in 4th, well ahead of the "Brick Brothers".

Damn, that's fast, Gil. 👍 Looks like I got some serious work to do here.

Thank you. I have very rarely felt "fast".
Bob has graciously given me his settings for both races.
I dropped 20+ seconds overall with "Godzilla".
I've managed to drop nearly 30 seconds off my overall with the "Frisbee".

The truly scary thing is, that I used to think I could set up a car.

PS: Bob I was using an auto trans. And I'm loving my ten minutes in the lead.
I know it won't last...

THANX Guys!!! :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed: BUT I must give credit where credit is due! If I remember correctly this Set-up is almost totally courtesy of Max E. I'm NOT a very good chassis tuner, (Not on "Purpose" anyhow), I just kinda "Fiddle" around 'till it works for me, rarely knowing "WHY"?!?! Thanx Again...UB57 :D

EDIT: Got it Gil, Thanx! 👍 I don't think ANYONE has more real phun in my races than you, NielsG & banjobear!!!

Well,
The set was definitely "softer" than I would have gone on my own.
But then the Frisbee weighs next to nothing... I guess it doesn't need stiff spring rates.
I'm gonna run this a few more times and see if I can get a bit more smoothness and consistency.
I have learned that driving at "9/10ths", and a bit more "conservatively" is netting me better times.
Bob, you may turn me into a half-decent driver yet.

I'm on those setting too, and loving them too. Still I'm loosing 3 secs a lap. I was driving rather safe, but not 3 secs under pr lap. You're fast. 👍

Well, UB. The last 3 races we've had, I've been racing your settings. They all had that smoothness and sweet handling in common. 👍 Deny it or not, you're still a good old fashion chassis tuner guru.

I just knocked another 12 seconds off my overall time. Unfortunately I can't use the time due to the wrong lineup. and a MOL of only 3.3xx seconds. Now to get some consistency in my lapping.
I'm still hatin' those damn "Brick Bros."
But I've also just knocked down a 1'17.7xx:eek: I have discovered two turns that don't require braking so much as a "judicious" lift off of the throttle. I'm pretty sure that's where I picked up those two seconds.
I still don't believe it.

You may have "borrowed" the set from Max E.. But that set up is pure-D awesome.:D

Hey Bob, can you PM me the race details for this one?

Like before, I can't promise an entry, but we'll see what happens:)

RE: the 1'17 lap. Disregard it. I was checking back. And I think I turned off the PS2 without saving between my good run and my great run. So I ran my unbelievable run on better tires than stipulated. (That's still the fastest I've ever been able to drive the "Frisbee".)
So sorry gentlemen.
I hope I didn't stress anyone out with my times.

Thanks, UB. 👍

Guess that leaderboard will scare both banjobear and Der Alta away. :sly:
I don't think so. I'm trying to figure out someway to garner an afternoon in front of the TV. *cough* *cough* feeling a cold coming on, may have to call in sick to work tomorrow.

oh my good god. well using settings i was trying to configure, i had managed to get my "MOL" to about 6 seconds, then i asked for UB's magic settings, and immediatly noticed faster lap times, and after running a few races...i FINALLY have a "MOV" from this last race by about 9 seconds, however, fate is a cruel temptress, as the race was anything but clean. Tho im over the first hump at least...now the second one...need a clean race. So far if im lucky i can tick off mid 1'18 laps here and there..i know theres a low 1'18 in there if i can concentrate hard enough

Made another clean race. :D

Cut of 17 seconds. Just need to do that a couple more times, then I would start to get close to Gil.

Ok you guys, get crackin'!!!
I'm not used to being near the front of the pack!!!
It's giving my a bit of apoplexy.

More importantly, Happy Birthday Unca' Bob!!

:D THANX GUYS for ALL the B'Day Wishes!!! ...UB57 :D

Someone forgot to tell Castrol Tom that he and his Supra weren't invited to Bob's birtday party.
After about 30 restarts, I've yet to find the required lineup. It's gonna take some tomfoolery and skullduggery to keep me awake through all these restarts.

@UB57- I was at 'Mich's place last weekend as well. If you care to see some pics, check out the Flamer's Heaven @ the Numbers. :)

When you got to i-Link ( :ill: I'm STILL GREEN w/Envy! :ill: ) did you have to hold your DFPro in your Lap like I did for the MLG Deal in Dallas??? ...UB57 :D

Not as much pressure back here.

:D Good Morning Guys! THANX Again for all the B'day greetings both here & in the other thread.

Thanx Gil 👍 figured I give myself a little present before "pokie" et al file reports!!!

I feel I need to clear up a couple of things. I had a difficult time finding a snappy sub-title for this race & it just dawned on me that ALL our competitors may NOT be familiar with the original inspiration for the one I fianally did come up with! Anyway: in an old Humphrey Bogart movie (most likely from the 1940s) a group of gold prospectors is approached by a band of Mexican Bandits who claim to be Lawmen. Humphrey or one of the others asks, "Where are your badges?" to which the response is "BADGES??? We don't need No Stinking BADGES???" I'm enjoying MOST of the Athens coverage I've seen & didn't want to come off as being Anti-Olympic. 👍

SECONDLY: An air of "Mystery" has come to surround my set-up & indeed I haven't done much to "Lift the Vail." (I'm still NOT used to anyone else finding my tuning helpful! :embarrassed:) Anway, I re-checked my replay of MAX E's run where I "Thought" I'd filched it and found "Almost" nothing in common with My set-up. I can only surmise that "perhaps" it's an old set-up I came up with on my own. Anyway since it seems to be working for others, here it is:

Spring Rate...........4.5/5.5
Ride Height..........65/60
Bound...................10/10
Rebound...............10/10
Camber..................1.5/3.5
Toe.....................0.0/0.0
Stabs....................4/6

Brakes..................19/21

LSD......................6/6/6

1st.......................3.263
2nd......................2.336
3rd.......................1.769
4th.......................1.399
5th.......................1.155
6th.......................0.996
Auto Set..............21
Final Drive.........4.000

Downforce...........Max
ASM.....................0
TCS.......................4

in an old Humphrey Bogart movie (most likely from the 1940s)
That movie's twice as old as me!

I tried many times last night, and got a couple finished "almost legal" runs. My best clean race lap is 1:17.8, and my best MOV so far is 10 seconds. Will submit one as soon as I can polish it up. :)

:D Yep! 👍 Lots of "Younger" drivers plus entrants from England, Scotland, Denmark & Canada at least, prompted me to "Explain." ...UB57 :D

Thanks for the settings UB57. The handling of the car is great now!

Anyone else notice how easy it is to outbrake these suckers? I'm still a little short on power (433bhp) but I don't really have a chance on any WOT stretch.

I've tried three races today and my best MOV is 4.050. Well at least I beat them. This is going to be very hard to get 15 laps in with only one wall brush between each pit stop. Ya think you could of mad it harder, Bob.

I've just submitted a time. My MOL was only 4.341 secs. I'll get a MOV next time (I hope!) Got a best lap of 1'18.694.

:( Didn't get a MOV :(

I've just submitted a new faster time, but my MOL is worse than it was before. I was 11.8xx behind the AI this time, even tho' my overall time was 8 secs faster

I'm going to sneek in here and post so Daan doesn't get a triple post warning;)
I finally have a run to submit. MOV was 4.995. Only one wall touch and no AI contact until after T1. That was minimal also. Its not as fast as a dirty run that I ran yesterday but I'll take it. The AI group had the Calsonic on pole so I managed to get the lead by T2. The wierd thing is, the Denso didn't seem like it wanted to race fast. It was just cruising along behind the Mugen Honda minding its own buisness. In all the races I did yesterday, It was hard to catch that car when it was in the lead position.
