Ugly But Appealing Vehicles

Stags look awesome, with the top up.. or down.
I think that with the top down they looked a little proportionally awkward. With the top down it's as if half the car is part of the trunk!

A friend of mine had one of these in high school. Only accord wagon I've ever seen with a manual transmission and with a bunch of custom low budget work that we did that car could keep up with a BPU 90-93 integra GSR and would keep up with MR2's in the corners...

Not my buddies car, his looked bone stock, even had the 300k mile faded dark blue paint.

I also absolutely love MKI Celicas.

And my all time favorite: 73-79 Datsun 620 Pickup. I've had 2 of them and absolutely love the looks of these little trucks.

This monstrosity, the Bugatti Royale, holds the record for the longest hood in a production car. At least, last time I checked. It's 21 feet long, weighs 7,000 pounds and only 6 were made in as many years.

That's the Coupe Napoleon, no? I saw that at the National Automotive Museum in France. 2 of the 6 Royales, actually. Majestic cars; too bad they look like they never get driven.

I hope I thow everyone overboard with this one.

1984 Ford Falcon XL. Only thing "XL" about it is the extra hutch in the back. Just imagine, have that thing with a lifted suspension and some thick offroad wheels, Yahoo!

That is indeed the Coupe Napoleon. Amazingly, all six Royales still exist.

At 1ness
aadil, that ain't even ugly. Much better looking than the older model (imo).

Ah but At 1, you like the new one whereas i preferred the older one.
IMO I think the older one was better. I don't find it attractive at all and it's because of the abnormal positioning of the lights (and change in size) compared to the previous gen.

JAHHAJ
I personally like the looks of the RS2.

And it was co-developed with Porsche wasn't it?

Buuuuuuump.

It's probably the grass is greener on the other side effect, but I love the Vauxhall Corsa. Though it gets flack in its homeland for being driven by questionable owners and generally being uninteresting in any way, I find it to be a refreshing difference from the crossovers and trucks that populate the roads here, where any extra small car besides the Mini is a rarity. The exterior is bland but still looks relevant, and in the right color it looks cheery. The interior isn't special, but it's tolerable. All the engines are sub 100 horsepower, and I seriously doubt it will overtake many other cars on the road, but yet I find it very appealing as just a little runabout in town that gets good gas mileage and can park anywhere. I don't see any rational reason to like it; I just do.

And the pickup truck conversions are to die for.

I think I just fell in love. That truck is gorgeous.

I know allot people find this hideous. I personally think it is absolutely alluring.

But.. but I've seen considerably more people saying they liked the Threewheeler compared to those who say it looks "hideous" (I've actually yet to come across anyone who said that).

Ew. I'd take a Proton Jumbuck or Škoda Felicia Fun over that Corsa conversion any day. :P

And all but the current generation of Corsa are incredibly bland inside and out. I never cared for the pre-2000 models, but the previous generation like the one you posted are fairly solid. Not to mention that they're still one of the most common cars over here, so they're practically part of the landscape.

It's been the opposite for me. Never had I heard one person that likes it. Different sides of the pond I suppose. Plus, I usually only talk to people that think "IF ain't not Americun, it's a foreign piece of 🤬." Got to love rural back woods America.

Do I really need to explain this one? It's bulky, thick body and it's wonderful hubcaps are to die for. To bad I'm to lazy to know what is under the hood.

And thanks Doog for making me remember this thread existed.

I remember when I was a kid and my neighbor had one of those. I could see it from my bedroom and it gave me nightmares. Thing looks like an arachnid on wheels.

I find nothing appealing about the Aztek.

The other 2 I find that fall into the hideous category are the Buick Rendevous and the Chevy Traverse.

Yeah, I think people just want to post ugly vehicles. There's nothing appealing about the Aztek, unless you've always dreamed of sleeping in your own car.

I agree fully. Is there even a thread for ugly cars lol?

There could have been something appealing about the Aztek had it not suffered from being a turn of the century GM product; but yeah. Not seeing the appeal behind it.

Buuuuuuuuuump.

Found another one. Thought I'd like to share it.

The 1998 Ford Ka.
2002_ford_ka-pic-42706.jpeg

I don't care for the plastic front bumpers that aren't the same color as the rest of the car. I don't care for the annoying large rear window. I don't care for the what seems like a .01 liter engine. This thing is cool.

My aunt had one, and had to sell it when she got sick. It was blue, almost purple. I miss it so, so much.
