Ugly But Appealing Vehicles

There's a huge crowd of people that hate the look of this Mustang (I'm not apart of it, I think it's quite handsome) and I really couldn't care less about looks. To me, performance is where it counts and I've been hearing good things about the new Mustang in this area.

That might be the first Mustang since the Seventies that I have any interest in. Between the IRS and the new looks, I can actually see myself tolerating its existence. The pissed-off traditionalists make it that much cooler.

It's not an ugly car, really, but it is still an Escort. Still, I would do terrible things to get my hands on one.
COSSIE!!!!

I love the fact they brought back IRS for the Mustang. Which is why I'm going to deem the new Mustang GT "Terminator 2.0".

The fact that a lot of people hate the new mustang makes me not want it. I'd rather not explain "why are you driving that pile of junk" everytime I'm at a car show.

It's sad it works out like that. I love the new Mustang. IMO it's the most beautiful new car of 2014.

I won't go as further as being the most beautiful of 2014, but it's a very pretty car and I love it. In fact the 'Stang is one of my fave 'Murican cars.

I prefer it that way. I like the idea of driving a great car that everyone hates for no good reason. I already do, for that matter.
I'm weird like that though. I think it depends on the car. I'm this way with the Mustang II.

Get a 94-95 Mustang and you will hear it everywhere not just car shows LOL.

Its not like that here. A lot of them here are pretty wildly modified and stomp a lot of the new cars. Still not quite as popular as Foxes but they aren't far behind.

Most are beat up around here or became pure drag cars. Street 94-95s are rare and most are looked down compared to Foxes and New edges.

Its actually not uncommon to find 4.6l cars swapped out with 302s or even 351w's.

Exact opposite here. Some people will do mild stuff to their mod motors but user more pushrod cars. Even some New Edges get them. I saw a 01 turbo stroked 351 new edge once. Destroyed a termi.

Very cool. Its all about turbos here but we have Hellion, THP and HP performance in state making Mustang turbo kits so its a bit skewed lol. There is/was a '01 Bullitt clone with a s/c 347 in it but that is the only push rod swap I can think of.

I can't think of on car that I've seen up close that hasn't had some kind of part changed on it. Unless it's brand spanking new, even then still though, something's been changed.

The thing is though, you can't really drive them on the street legally. People do it anyways though. No one pays attention.

Turbo's are popular here, and actually supercharging is the least favorite, most people only do that if it's stock, but I actually see more people running the bottle on N/A cars over turbo systems. Not to say they don't have turbo systems, but I find it less common.

I think the new Mustang is gorgeous myself, and what I'm hearing about the performance makes me like it even more. If I had the money for one, I'd gladly buy it for two reasons.
1) because it's just damn cool.
2) so I can give anyone who comes to me hating it for the wrong reasons a firm slap upside their head.

The front end is hideous and that's coming from a die hard Ford fanboy.

And worse, one of the new mustang engines is a 4 BANGER :banghead:
And yet, the design of the front looks like it came from a Focus or a Range Rover.

Mustang's have had a 4 cylinder engine for 20 years. I don't see a problem.

Mustangs only had a 4- banger from 1973-74, when the 1973 Oil Crisis was present, then the 1979-93 model, for economy, not power. From 1994-2014, the mustang's base engine is a Cologne or Essex or Duratec V6 engine.

No, the Mustang had an I4 from 1974-1993. Prior to that, the base engine was a variety of inline 6 cylinders ranging from 170ci to 240ci. 1994 and up, you are correct. I think you need to brush up on your history
