Ugly But Appealing Vehicles

That Acura ZDX reminded me...

It's awkward-looking but there's something about it that I like.
I've heard the boot mechanism is lovely.

That's all I really know about it

JZX11 Toyota Mark II.

On the outside, it looks like the ZZE120 Corolla, except that it is fitted with a 1JZ-GTE and is RWD. I actually like how it looks, looks really subtle.

The Mercedes R63 AMG is a gigantic pile of visual diarrhea, but there's an underlying madness of having an MPV with a 510hp 6.2 V8 from the factory that makes me kind of want one.

You're not alone. That looks like it would be great fun to own.

The side profile almost looks like a shortened XV30 Camry.

Out of curiosity, is it appealing to you specifically in that configuration or was it prior to the GT-R drivetrain retrofit? I'm of the belief that if the Juke's styling were to grow on someone, it would do so in a manner similar to that of herpes.

The latter. Its unique styling has a sort of attractiveness to me. This version of it just adds to that. I'm weird, I know.

Peugeot 505. Available with a 2.2 litre I4 turbo, 175bhp, rear wheel drive... What's not to like? Apart from the fact it's ugly as hell, of course.

Edit: Wow. I've just turned back a page. I'll find something else!

This abomination was actually owned by a friend of mine, I have a photo of it on my drive somewhere (many phones ago) but I just found this photo of it on the internet. Ugly as hell, not mechanically appealing either, but also hilarious and to call it a head turner would be an understatement.

It's really the front end of the Juke that just gets me turned off. The rear end isn't bad, heck the Juke-R's rear end is awesome, especially with those widened wheel arches and the small rear spoiler at the top. But the front end is still confusing as hell to look at. What was Nissan aiming for when they designed this car, anyway??

Regardless of which version I'm looking at, those rear arches will always look like a design cue ganked from the nearest farm vehicle. The rear Three-quarter angle is just awful.

Multipla-level quirkiness with a design that wouldn't age nearly as much over the first few years of its life?

The face-lift does look more refreshed and appealing than the original though. Far nicer than the back end ever was, which still lets it down for me. Otherwise I don't think it looks too bad.

I really don't get turned off by it anymore, it's grown on me over the years.

I think it looks blobby and out of proportion in some angles.

Everything from the steering wheel back would look great if it wasn't attached to that charicature of an Uhlenhaut Coupe front end. The curves really never suited this.

Honestly I'd like to see the Benz with a front end more along these lines. The Maser only strays [in my eyes] with the low beltline and the out-of-place quarter window.

Strongly considering one of these for my next car.

I don't think its ugly per se, ungainly fits the bill a lot better. Still, a granny-spec hatch with a bonnet scoop, dumb side decals and a turbo strapped to it? Yes please.

Fun fact: Daihatsu maintain that they only ever came with semi-automatic transmissions as it provided smoother and quicker gear changes which would improve the driving dynamics. Supposedly however, the real reason is because Daihatsu didn't have a manual box which could deal with the amount of power it puts out. It's only 130 BHP, admittedly, but still a good boast for when you're down the pub I guess.

Maserati 450S Coupé

I'm still shocked you had the guts to post this here. I think it's beautiful. Well, it's not perfect, there's sure a few bits that I don't like but overall, another Maserati I dream about now.

As for that mustang ii, made into a sedan, I'm actually in love with it. I didn't like these II's a lot, and seeing one in sedan mode, makes me want get one. I'm odd sometimes, trust me.

I also have the guts to post pictures of these other priceless cars here:

This, too:

Although it's not as priceless as the other two and it looks perfectly fine in black.

Anyway I was just being honest, really. After all, the title of the thread says "Ugly But Appealing Vehicles", not "the "just plain ugly" car thread."
