Da, Komrades!

Compact, light weight, Rear wheel drive, 3 box saloon car, massive thin steering wheel... what is NOT to like ;)

It's got some weird forms, but somehow it grew on me.

Has an ugly shape, ,really hate design of the front, but again, grew on me. Wouldn't own one, but wouldn't dislike it entirely either.

It's kind of cool, but having all that stuff in the back never really sat with me.

Lada Niva. It's ugly and the interior is ugly, but when it comes to offroading this car has no competition for its class. It's lightweight and very modern for the time(1977) - it has a monocoque chassis and independant front suspension with coil springs all around. The engine is a 1.6l 72hp monster, amazing what it can do with only that much.

The estate is even better looking.

Pah, that's not a proper BX estate, this is a proper BX estate. :D

Seriously though, I agree the regular BX estate looks perhaps even better than a regular BX, shame this Heuliez shooting brake version never went into production although that niche might be too small at the time.

I might seem like I'm far out of left field with this one but... I like big butts and I cannot lie.

I don't know, growing up whenever I saw a Datsun 120Y coupe I couldn't help but look. The angled taillights, the overall shape. I could never dismiss them. To me the sedan is nice, but kinda stale in comparison.

Not unlike a scrappy dog you find in the street, if you show it some love it might give something back.

If you accidently smash your head into one while falling after having 3 bottles of vodka, it won't leave a dent. Atleast on the car. They thought of everything!

Nice BX shooting brake. đź‘Ť

But Pah, this CX laughs at your so called proper BX estate. :D

And this Citroen laughs harder still. :D

@ MatskiMonk, i prefer the earlier Fiat 124, which is basically that Lada.. (especially in 131 Abarth guise )

Lada Niva is cool though Jet Badger. đź‘Ť

I've driven a Lada.. Only thing in it that wasn't vague in it was the smell of burning when the electric system shorted..

hideous beast:

I have never disagreed with a statement more in my life.

However, you are entitled to your opinion, no matter how wrong it is.

Nah, it's cool. But I think the thing is sexy as hell.

They aren't too bad but compared to the year before? Ew. Have you seen one IRL? They are the size of a F350 Quad cab with an 8 foot bed

I'm not big on that model of that Mustang myself. It just looks way taller and longer than it could be.

I'd agree with the Mach 1. However "cool" it might be, it's a bloody awful design. Overhangs are gigantic, the rear quarter looks far too large, the wheels are too small and the rear spoiler looks like an afterthought. It's a travesty of design after the Mustangs that preceded it.

Still, it's ever so slightly better than the Mustang II.

Also, I do like that shade of green. 1970s for the win.

That nose-up look is never good - any of the Capri's suffered from it as well. I have to say though, if I picked a year for my favourite car styling it would be 1972. Lancia Fulvia HF, Datsun 240Z, Abarth 132, Alfa GTV, Fiat X1/9, Opel Manta Mk1, Austin Allegro (;)), etc , etc. Perhaps for another thread...

Just a small correction, the Abarth 131 was based on the 124 successor, the 131.

Which is a different car than the Fiat 124 which formed the base of the Lada.

This all reminds me of my Dad's Fiat 132 he had as a company car for a while. This one here isn't his but is pretty similar:

I can remember as a kid how well it went. A 122bhp 2-litre twin cam in the late 70's was quite impressive in a family car. That stink of hot velour on a summers day would make any kid car sick though. :ill:

He had an orange 131 Supermirafiori after that which, for a kid, was even more impressive if not quite as grunty. I think his company liked Fiats.

@Previous page.

Ford Sierra RS Cosworth and Ford Escort RS Cosworth? Ugly?

Man.

Haha, thought the same, the Sierra and Escort are gorgeous. :D

For some strange reason, I always loved the Twingo:

There are a lot of cars which I love, that could be considered ugly or crap.
Most of them are small hatchbacks. AMC Pacer, Ford Pinto (what a horrible car ), first and second gen Fiestas etc.

Wait, is that car suppose to be drifting? with a man and woman sitting relaxed behind the wheel?

Are you daring to suggest that it couldn't?

I think if anything, this shows that the Mitsubishi Carisma is the most intuitive, well-rounded drift car available.

Even this couple can hop in and be pulling mad angles on the way to Gala.
