I'll show you how to do it. Or at least how I do it.

I upload the preview image and paste the "hotlink for forums (1)" here. I then upload the full-size and replace the hotlink code's "imageshack.us" URL with the code for "direct link to image."

This is what the code should look like:

[ URL=copy/paste full size "direct link to image" here[ IMG]copy/paste preview image "hotlink for forums (1)" here[ /IMG][ /URL]

And delete the spaces in the brackets of course. ;)

I know what he is doing wrong. 01gtp, you are doing almost everything well, except one thing. When you are putting the full size image preview in the link/URL bar/menu, you have to delete those http:// that are there. In the address bar of your full-size image it can be seen clearly that has two http://.

Hope this helps.

But deleting the extra http:// will just redirect you to imageshack.us...

No, I meant, this http:// :

damn there are some sweet shots here. The shots with track banners on the car and track, like MM's are fine. Any Banner, Any Car....
As for my shot...Its not an entry,I just wanted to show it off. I made it the way it is on purpose (diffuse glow). I went overboard with the diffuse glow. That shot is the first shot I edited on my new Mac latop. It was in battery mode and the screen was darker than normal while editing. :dunce:

Yes...and thats why I have said change size, because I like my shots in that resolution 👍

So you mean you distorted the original proportions of the shot? Ok, now that I read the rules I understand this actually can be done and still be within the rules, I just never thought somebody would use the resize like that. Maybe I need to change rules a bit for the next round.

But why do you want to do this? Just asking. 👍

Well lets see, 1st I like that resolution, I use it now in most of my shots. 2nd there are shots here in 1024X768, 800X600...so why can´t I change to 1024X700, isn´t doing the same, meaning, changing the "original" resolution that came from GT4? And I´m not the only one changing to "weird" resolutions, check Ceiling_Fan shot, its on 816X612...not in 800X600 and I don´t see any problem there. And if U guys go back in previous weeks you will find many shots in different resolutions. 3rd I like that resolution because the usual ones kinda look more "squared"...and in 1024X700 that look is not so visible, it looks more streched or something.

So I don´t see why the rules must be changed, we are just changing the resolutions of our shots, we are not touching "inside" of them...if you guys know what I mean. And the rules say we can resize...so I guess we can resize to a resolution that we like. Right?!

P.S - I´m not mad or something, just saying what I think 👍

Yeah, I see what you mean NTX1982. You can see that we do resize our shots, but most (if not all) of us would still have the 4:3 screen ratio (even ceiling_fan's 816x612px shot) So I think the way you "resize" your photo is maybe questionable in a way..... cause it isn't in any way a perfect 4:3 ratio. But this just leads me to something:
Should we change the rules a bit here?
I mean, if we're able to resize our photos, would we still need to resize within a 4:3 ratio or we can resize it any way we want? I still would like to have the 4:3 ratio resize rule cause your not messing up with the ratio of the original photo, its more like you just resize it into a smaller (but same) photo.

Thats just my opinion of course. :)

Yes, Muzaffar Musa is right. It's not about resolution but about proportions. Basicly the idea is that in UEC the shot is not altered in any way, including keeping the original 4/3 ratio. I'll add a new rule about that.
