Only downside I can see is that the serious car reviews are going to be done by one presenter only, but if the comedic segments are as well executed as they were in today's film, I won't miss the car reviews too much.
Arent almost all of Car Reviews like that since the Clarkson Era, though?

Arent almost all of Car Reviews like that since the Clarkson Era, though?

Every Top Gear presenter has done a new car review on the Dunsfold Aerodrome, before and after the Clarkson era. What I am saying is that it doesn't seem likely Freddie and Paddy are going to be doing track reviews this series and all high-performance car tests will be handled by Chris Harris.

Great opening episode, liked it a lot, nice chemistry between the three of them.

Promising start. 👍

Not gonna judge yet based off of one episode but that was... Okay.

On the same sorta par as most later CHM era stuff or The Grand Tour. I prefered Harris-LeBlanc-Reid but I think I was one of the odd people out who really liked that lineup.

Was a good opening episode. I had serious doubts about Freddie and Paddy but it looks as if they've managed to start restoring the comedic entertainment value that's been missing from the show for the last couple of series.

I went into this new lineup with an open mind and well..

I liked what I saw. ;)

There’s definitely potential there for it to stand out on its own good merits and hopefully by seasons end i’ll be able to say that for certain. :P

I liked that they actually genuinely seemed to want the others to do well, but still left room for ribbing. It felt like Paddy telling Harris to suck it up was authentic. I also like they don't take themselves too seriously.

Reid was always a bit awkward, trying to fit in and didn't really gel with the other two.

I'm optimistic :)

New presenters are ok, but man, their accent is hard to understand. I'll get used to it with time, but it's the first time I wished for a subtitle watching TG

Weird matchup between 600LT and Pista, and the laptimes show it. Should've brought the 720S instead.

Ethiopia is gorgeous, but the trip doesn't feel as involving or challenging as previous ones. I think TGT's budget has spoiled me a bit

Anyway, now that the old trio is semi retired and doing away with the tent format, this is all we've got for now. Better than nothing I suppose.

Well apparently the Pista is set up specifically for Dunsfold. That explains the time difference. Classic Ferrari.

Tonight's episode is all about electric cars and they create a battery-powered car on a budget, Paddy gets shocked several times during an electric shock handling test. The reasonably fast car is back with Danny Boyle and Himesh Patel are the guests, most probably to promote the film Yesterday which Boyle directs and Patel stars in, Boyle has been a guest before during the CHM era.

Last weeks opening episode hit a peak of 2.8 million viewers in the UK, the highest for three series, big question now is how many of those viewers will come back.

Chris Harris's Model 3 was enjoyable but everything else was quite bland. Could Top Gear please just turn into Chris Harris on Cars But With A Budget?

Tonight's episode. turning a hearse into a family car, Chris Harris in the Dallara Stradale, Sabine returns and royalty in the reasonably fast car in the form of Zara and Mike Tindall.

So last night episode then, I thought it was alright but nothing amazing, the whole hearse as a family car thing was a bit stupid, as if every family would ditch their SUV/Crossover/Estate/Family Saloon to buy a second hand hearse!

Also I get that this new Top gear is supposed to be about fun and banter but I don't like the way Chris Harries has been treated by Freddie and Paddy thus far, its almost bullying.

I agree it seemed like they were bullying Chris Harris. The only bit that I enjoyed was the Dallara segment. Everything else was awful

I hate how they don't even show the power laps on the show now. I mean TG has always been about comedy more than facts, but now it feels even more like a sitcom than anything car related at all, save for the Chris Harris reviews.

Dallara's laptime is astonishing. Just for context it has around the same amount of downforce as the McLaren Senna, while being 500kg lighter. Shows you how much handling can offset lack of power, even on a power track like the TGTT.

Tonight's episode. Paddy and Freddie take two 'very rare, very cheap' cars to the Jungles of Borneo on an adventure with the Gurkhas, just the two of them.

No idea if there is a power/car test or if there are guests on.

Better episode than last week I thought, enjoyed the Borneo adventure and I thought Freddie and Paddy had some good chemistry and banter. I especially liked the little warning they put out about the Brunei homosexuality controversy and that they painted their cars Pride colours at the end. It was a nice touch.

Cullinan review was good as was the SIARFC segment.

So overall it was quite enjoyable.

Tonight's episode is the last in the series, only five episodes we get this time, but mind you we did get two series in one year this year.

Freddie tries out Formula Off Road in Iceland which is where modified buggies climb up cliff and drive on water (I believe it has been featured on TG a long time ago), Chris and paddy test out the new Toyota Supra out on the track.

Today's episode was okay. I wish Harris did the whole Supra bit. The other two guys don't seem to know much about cars.

I listened to a Smoking Tire podcast featuring Richard Porter and he said the BBC folks wanted Top Gear to have "very British" presenters so I guess that's why we got Freddy and Paddy.

Overall I really enjoyed this series, I was pleasantly surprised by Paddy and Freddie and all 3 presenters seem to have some good chemistry which created some genuinely funny moments. What still confuses me is why they insist on continuing with the celebrity guest section. Does anybody actually like them?

I watched it earlier today as I recorded it so I could watch the Grand Prix last night, which I recorded so I could watch the Cricket World Cup final.

Now prior to me watching it it said it was only 43 minutes long, I obviously thought it was odd and watched it anyway and it spotted at the Will Young bit, I have no idea why it did this, there is no evidence of any problems with the recording on my Sky Q box, did anyone have any problems watching it last night?

Ahh I see, anyway I caught the last 15 mins on the Iplayer, that Lotus 79 tribute was really good.
