Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

The main problem is that there are about 6-7 xbox360 games I want to buy in the next 2 months so I need to pick and choose wisely. But I really do want this game eventually and LBP. Now I see that LBP2 is already coming out. I just cant keep up with all these great games.

I got mine at gamestop this morning for 39.99, not sure what the going price is for it now. Considering the first one is still 29.99 I didnt think this was to bad of a price.

Funny, only Future Shop had it for $40 and other retailers had em at full price.

It would be great to start playing with some new friends as most of my previous ones have moved on to other games. I also levelled up to 61 a few days ago and still really enjoying the game. :D
 
To add to my earlier post about Tomb Raider, I still think the franchise should not die.
Even if Naughty Dog don't make a game with both Nathan Drake and Lara Croft, they should be the ones to re-invigorate the series. It could do with a reboot. A TR game done with the sharp controls and strong storytelling/cutscenes of an Uncharted game I think would do well, perhaps as a sister game to the next Uncharted adventure.

I don't see what the Uncharted franchise would gain by being affiliated with Tomb Raider. It feels....off.

As far as making another Tomb Raider, any game company would have to decide first whether it's simply cashing in on the TR name or whether they're trying to seriously make a genre-defining game. If you are going for the gold medal, are you then better going with TR and all the baggage that the series entails? Or are you better starting afresh with a new world that can be designed to meet modern gameplay and storytelling needs?

I doubt we'll see a Tomb Raider game any time soon that approaches the level of mastery that Uncharted has shown. I'd love to see one, a good game is a good game. I just don't see any reasons why a company would choose that path.
 
Just thought that, since they are both very similar, the Tomb Raider franchise would do well to be reborn with a quality developer, and Naughty Dog would be the ideal people to do it. Even if Lara makes a guest appearance in the next Uncharted adventure, becomes an integral character in the story, and you get to control her for a while in the game.
Crystal Dynamics did the series no favours. They tried, but they still plagued TR with the same old faults.

There might be some new DLC coming. The actress who plays Elena Fischer said on twitter that she's working on a new Uncharted... Sony, to dismiss rumours of a third Uncharted, ended up confirming that it's in fact a new episode!

you mean they are going to release something for uc2 to continue the storyline? or did i read that wrong?
 
As much as i like the game i'd be really interested to see how this story will unfold. I mean in U2 the story swerved off the whole treasure hunting and bagging home a ton of cash idea.. in U1 it was all about fighting for the treasure, winning and then reaping the rewards. The same idea was supposed to unfold in U2, which would make a lot of sense, because if you could steal ancient treasure once, why can't you do it again? What doesn't happen is a fight for the treasure, it was a fight to stop a next world dominator from rising. The story has a sweet ending which has nothing to do with being satisfied they got the treasure... Drake must have forgotten his life lessons if he plans to go hunt for more treasure again, as he has wanted to quit 2 times.
 
It appears ND are holding a special weekend for the 1st anniversary of Uncharted 2. They're adding a temporary playlist featuring the best game variations voted by the Uncharted community. Might be worth checking out.. :)

Apparently there will also be many of the developers playing as well. :sly:

So far I've made just over $10 million, and played a couple of games with two of the Dogs. :D

I just don't want to level up anymore really, I'm already reached level 61 a month ago and now I only play it occasionally. :)
 
well i went from level 13 to 19 in one coop game, and one failed coop game. The village is hard to pass with just 2 players. There's Deagles and Grenade Launchers waay up high and a bunch fo shotgunners on the ground...
 
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is easily one my favourite PlayStation games in the entire PlayStation library that spans from 1995 - 2010.
 
I rented this a while back and its still one of the best PS3 games I have played. I really want to buy this for my PS3 collection.

There is a GOTY Edition out now.

If you have a PSP it even has a free download for an Uncharted themed pinball table.
 
$49.99 is still a bit steep since Uncharted 3 might be out at the end of this year. I really want to pick this game up eventually. The campaign was excellent, the online co-op is fun, and the multiplayer is also fun.

$49.99 is way lower than this game is worth. I would pay $100 for Uncharted 2.
 
So I'm going through the story again, this time in "crushing" difficulty. I found the levels based in Borneo to be really challenging, I don't know how I even got through that first wave of bad guys before activating the bombs. Oddly though, I've found the levels in Nepal are, so far, not much more difficult than in the hard difficulty (easier maybe?). I'm just about to start the level based in the train yard, one I found extremely difficult in both normal and hard, so perhaps I'll get myself a bit of a challenge here again.


EDIT: Okay, now it's hard. Lieutenant Draza was almost impossible. :crazy:

Finally played U2 after getting it for Christmas last year - such an awesome game! I don't give out 10/10 ratings to games very often, but this is an easy 10 for sure!

Played through in Hard difficulty first (had just finished Uncharted 1 for the second time - after trying to get as many trophies as i could) and then went through again in Very Easy to get all the treasures. After that had a wee bit of fun online, getting wasted by everyone - but hey!

Rather impressive view from the top of the Hotel in Nepal (?) too - i stood there for over ten mins just looking around. :D

Naughty Dog are very good in this industry - other developers should take note...
