Chevy Silverado SST Concept 02. Picked up from ucd for less than 100k & tuned & lightened is just amazing. And its a truck. You dont get much more of a sleeper than that :D

Part of the problem with this definition in regards to the game, is that everyone can see the name of the car you're using, and you can't "debadge" cars in the game.

Take the S3 for example. An S3 looks *very* similar to a regular A3 minus the wheels and badges. Take the badges off, maybe leave the wheels, and it's much more of a sleeper. Same goes for the SRT-4. A lot of the cars mentioned could qualify if the game didn't make it so obvious you're driving a beast.

As another real world example, there's a local guy who swapped his STi trunk lid for a standard (wingless) imprezza lid, and installed a FMIC so he could put a non-scooped hood on. It still has beasty fenders, but at first glance it's a cheapo, base impreza.

How can you forget the TOM Supra?

Sleepers tend to be judged on their unassuming appearance, matched with impressive performance. The Chaser fits this bill, in spite of it being a TOM's. I find it odd that you were ready to accept a sleek, low-slung 1000kg mid-engine AWD 3.5-liter twin-turbo as a sleeper, and not a sedan.

It's in relation to the game (you lose :( )
If it was on the grid with you, what would you think of it?

As said before, I'm no expert at this, so am basing the first post list on the information received.
What 1000 KG car are you talking about?

Holden Commodore SS '04, it is still a pretty unknown car but it has full corvette running gear and over 700hp when tuned.

Loutus carlton mybe... It is a lotus...with 4 doors(?)
Citroen C4. Fully tuned it has more bhp than the rally car. :sly: (from what i've heard)
And I don't think that the SST pick up should be because it has lowered suspension and flashy wheels
But the Tacoma X runner has nearly 700bhp (fully tuned) i think, plus it looks normal

Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg ZR. 350+ bhp, all of which gets sent to the front wheels, yet it still has some pretty nifty acceleration and also crucially a surprising lack of understeer. Just over 15,000 Cr. to buy!

Plus in GT4 it could beat Saleen S7's. However I'm sure it would do just as good at smashing one here.

Apparently the TVR speed 12 is only about 300,000. I've been waiting for it to pop up in the UCD for weeks but still nothing. And yes I know it's not a sleeper in terms of looks, but more for the fact that it's not a premium model

And then there was the Supra RZ. I can't think of any instance where either car could be called a sleeper. Yes, they were omitted, but they were also seriously considered.

Unassuming exterior. Impressive performance. TOM's X540 Chaser.

As I was saying above, in the game it's not much of a sleeper because the prerace will show that it's a tuner car on the grid listing, and you'll then know it's fast.

"Sleepers" in the game are more like "cars that can be tuned up to be fast that are otherwise not".

In the real world though, the Chaser is definitely sleeper looking.

Golf 1 GTI '76 (cause it's awesome)
Clio Renault sport 2.0 16v
MR2 1600 Super Charger
every Civic
Ford Ka (seriously couldn't keep up with a fully tuned one on TGTT in a ford gt '02)
Lancer EX 1800GSR IC Turbo '83 (the stock suspension on this and the XKR performance R is so bad I think they can do torque wheelies with fully tuned engines)
any truck/SUV

They were seriously considered and even added, but I've read the definition of Sleeper from Wikipedia I hopefully won't make the same mistake :)

It's why I submitted it, even though it's a tuner car. Oh how cute, it's a sedan with a spoiler and bodyki--HOLY CRAP!!

No worries, but if I had been drinking milk, it'd have come out my nose. And then you'd have been sorry.

MR2 1600 Super Charger
+1 on the '86 MR2. Total sleeper and can compete with those Lotus drivers once you mod the hell out of it. Doesn't look like much on the track but it can really move. I've been having fun with mine online all week. Still trying to tune the suspension though. It's great on smooth tracks but lousy on rough tracks. I've got it running 0:57.xxx laps on Tsukuba. Not bad for a 20,000cr initial investment.
