Unofficial GT5 PS3 Theme: v1.5 IS COMING!

I'm thinking of adding last minutes backgrounds aswell from the pov's perspective so...

(I'm trying to find good shots of those, if you have any good let me known, browsing through my stuff)

*removed* (I'm updating the first page about every 5 mins now with the new stuff and reorganise it properly)

Need feedback on those "half finished" already (it takes a lot less time to just keep it GT style within the engine and just add some elegant effects on top )

i'm still looking for a good base for the F40 & GTR otherwise it's pretty much done so i'll keep those two for later and just start packing everything now, got updated README for way easier installation and explanations for noobs.

I'm actually going to take a little more time to polish things and I'm making it's own webpage with images for the extra wallpapers and extra fancy crap =D

(I guess most people are away anyways so they won't notice)

It will be up as soon as it's done and i'm almost done with all the images, just need to do the stupid html now and fix it properly for IE

I just checked out the backgrounds, and I must say: they are coming along very nicely! A quick question though: are you going to bring back the Audi R8 that was in the original pack?

At this point, short of making backgrounds for additional cars as more screenshots become available, there is no way it could get better without the ability to take our own screenshots for use as backgrounds. I'm personally waiting for one that displays the craziness of the first couple of turns with 16 cars. (:

Edit: After checking the first page, I'm excited to see that you're going all-out in a very good way with the images for each individual car!

Well, it's all installed with the new key icons and my new favourite wallpaper - the two Ferraris, set to a brightness of -3 to give a more moody look to the scene and make the white text stand out better. Overall, awesome job...

... apart from one thing - the wheel icon with 5 spokes! It's still not right - the angles between all 5 spokes is not 72 degrees. Just look at the bottom two spokes, they are clearly far wider than the rest. Just a minor niggle, but for such an otherwise lovely theme, it really does need sorting.

My hat off though to you alba, it's a class achievement, and Polyphony Digital should endorse this as the official theme for GT5.

yes I know, I guess i'll just make something else but i can't find any "good" rims resource and doing 72° thingy yesterday would've been a pain in the ass (I'm gonna fix all that in the next version then) but for now I just wanna relax a bit and I got tons of work back soooo it will be in a little while... bear with it for now

Looks awesome! Although I can't wait for some more HD Clean backrounds, I don't particulary like the Ferrari I have at the moment, but I like using the backrounds you provide.

Could you upload just the theme file?

When you add the new wallpapers, you are not repackaging them into the theme so they will randomly appear, you are simply uploading them for download, is this correct?

One thing I have noticed from the two German town pictures is that the visual quality is damn close to photorealism, but the texturing is just a bit strange. For instance, in the Lotus Elise picture, the street sign is not quite readable, though I figured an HD pic should make it easy to read. *shrug*

Yes. That was the basic idea! (I guess i could repack the theme if a few themes are really good and people really like them and want them in, I'll do that).

As for the elise pic, I just check again to make sure and the base picture is not readable sadly

I repacked the theme btw, i was playing GT5P a few mins ago and I noticed (I use the headphones since my parents are sleeping) that there were a few "bzzz" noise at the end of cancel and push sound effect, it's been fixed now

Just wondering though, I put the .png files on my USB stick and when I try to change my user pic I go to browse and it only shows pictures downloaded onto my PS3. When I try to "find" pictures on my ps3 on the usb drive it says there aren't any as well, so uh...what do i do?

Go to the USB drive through the photo section, highlight it and press triangle. From there you should be able to search the drive, copy the pictures/icons you need no matter where they are, and when they're on your PS3 hard drive you should be able to easily pick a different user picture.

The reason that it says there are no picture on your drive, in case you wanted to know, is because the PS3 only searches the root of the drive for pictures or other media unless you manually search. The root of your drive is whatever exists on your drive but not in any folder. Hope that helps. (:

Also, the wallpapers work just as well for my PSP. I have a custom GT1 (JPN) theme on there now and adding the GT5 Prologue wallpapers just gave it a nice touch.
