Which car should be used for the "new" backgrounds?

I'm not putting pressure on you here but when do you think you'll have the new one up. I'm really looking forward to it, I never use any theme other than yours and anyone that sees it all ways says how good it looks.

PS: Great idea with the keys.
 
I've made some good progress, I'm gonna have a second beta to make sure everything's alright on the sound effects and the icons I changed and if the feedback is good i'll release it with everything updated :)

PM me if you want to test it out again (I'm working on some stuff right now!)

I plan on making my own little "webpage" for the theme, so you'll be able to download weekly updated backgrounds from there and see the changelogs preview pictures and all that in a fancy look :D (Or i could team up with Jordan to have that little page aside or linked to GTP, who knows? I should ask him I guess :)

Oh and, I updated the keys images, it lacked details in the bottom part (the grey one) it's way better now :P

Do you guys have any idea how I could change the Music XMB icon to be more GT-like (I was thinking of making a muffler but I'm not sure what you guys think and how it would turn out :P) what do you guys think? or maybe you have better ideas, I'm all up for it :D

Gosh, I keep having new and new ideas, I'm done redoing the removable medias new icon with a curved arrow for the top "small" icon, looks WAY better and a lot of other things, I'll send the beta to the guys who pm'd me earlier tomorrow :) (7am damn, need a few hours of sleep :P)

Perhaps you might experiment with car speakers or a car radio symbol? Then again, the sound of engines roaring is music to me. (:

Just before I have to go I did a quicky picture with my phone of the "new" video preview image (using tversity for sharing so you can see it XD)

I've been having a mess around with you them and others again and the back sound does sound very slightly louder but it seems to in some other themes too. I'm not sure whether it may be because it's a deeper sound that makes it stand out more.

Is there still no option to customise things like the Network icon & the RSS icon as they look a little out of place sometimes?

I'm guessing that you can't as I've never seen them customised.

I've got rid of my keys user icons now and have gone back to the original icons...just can't decide which I prefer. lol

Like the new keys alba - keep up the great work. Don't worry about the audio side of things - I turn my XMB sounds off anyway - can't stand blips and blops every time I move around it!
 
I'm almost done with it :D

I just have the sounds and I need someone to help me out with the SDTV wallpapers :) (So I can make a reference file to fix all the upcoming SDbackgrounds)

Oh and I'm experimenting with the keys still (adding another key, make one red to fit the theme more) etc :P

I do in fact have an SDTV. The original SD backgrounds did not completely fill up the screen but left a gray area at the top of the screen. This was on a regular dimension TV.
 
The keys look awesome, alba, but at some point you're going to have to say good enough. :lol:

I'm fairly confident that there aren't too many people that would complain about the theme in it's current state. :D
 
Well, I know I would :P (it's not helping since i'm the one making it haha :D)

Vincent could you make a picture of the grey thing you're talking about? (I don't really get it since the official ps3 theme guide says 640x480 but i guess that is way off lol)

I need just one picture of it and i'll check to see how to get the proper size and make things right then :P
 
Now that I look at it, the SD background contained in the backgrounds folder from the previous version has the same gray area: see thumbnail. Perhaps it is the theme program compensating for a widescreen-sized image?

To clarify, the final photo was the proper 640x480, but the top 52 lines of pixels are gray.

the biggest issue is the SD backgrounds so, as soon as I get that done, it will be fast until I release it :)
 
It looks pretty good, see here and here.

Edit: The camera doesn't really do it justice, btw. The blur comes mostly from my unsteady hand and the lighting.
 
Well, it seems that the person I borrowed a cam from a few minutes ago is gone, so for now I can tell you that, on my TV at least, the edges get slightly cropped off. The gtplanet and Polyphony symbols look ok, but the GT symbol on the left is cut of slightly. I don't think you'd have to move it any more than 10-15 pixels to get it to show up properly. There is no way to fix the cropping of the sides on my TV, so I'm assuming that's a standard thing.
 
It does cut off a bit of the edges, doesn't it? Best I can tell, it looks like it's a resolution of 573x430 instead of 640x480 (90%, btw). :confused:

Nah, prefer it with just one key, looks more balanced. I have one key on my car keyring, so yeah, one key suits me. But, I do like the red. If you were to make what you have now, but with the red on the key, that would look really nice.

That's true, but when choosing the image as a wallpaper, a smaller version appeared showing what gets cropped. I'd say, just let the resolution be, and simple move the icons around as needed.

i can figure out from the picture how i need to move stuff, so i just need to move the gt logo more to the right and the right side more to the left, got it :D

Sorry i was playing a little bit, this one should be perfect (you don't need to picture it, just tell me if it's all good the logos aligned from the bottom and sides of the tv)

Sorry to take so long, just got back from supper. :sly:

The new background works perfectly now. All icons have a comfortable amount of space and everything.

I suppose I'll spend time trying to climb onto the top ten lists for GT:HD in the meantime...
