Which car should be used for the "new" backgrounds?

Ok i am still lost! Please tell me what i am doing wrong, i download the link onto my desktop, then i tried to open it but couldn't because it is a rar file, so then i just copied it to my usb key then tried to install it on my ps3 but it keeps saying there are no theme files on it. :confused:

Ok I will try to take you through this really simply...

1. You download the file from alba link..... its a rar file.
2. You extract it using winrar which is a program you can download for free. http://www.download.com/3000-2250-10007677.html
3. You now have a load of files extracted.
4. Select the folder called PS3 and copy that folder (or drag and drop) to your usb memory key.

5. Put the USB key into you PS3.
6. Go to theme settings.
7. Go to select theme and then install.
8. Install from removable media.
9. select albaGT5.

Can you do it now?

Thanks alot everyone, i was trying to use win zip and i didnt have win rar which caused all the problems. It looks really good, dont know how you managed it alba, i couldnt even download it until now :dunce:!!!

It looks great once I set the correct brightness!

The only thing I can't figure out is this part,
In the \Account\ folder of this archive, you'll find custom user account
images to match the feel and style of this theme.

Account\europe.png
Account\hongkong.png
Account\japan.png
Account\unitedstates.png
Account\australia.png

Where is the Account/Folder?
 
inside the archive you have three folders, account background and PS3, it's rather easy :P

To you, me, and most people it is. To some, they just don't get it. :banghead:

It looks stunning now with a darker image - really good job alba, you should make this known to Polyphony Digital and get them to include it on the final game disc!

But for now it's bothering me i can't edit the playlists icons and the PSN one so as long as that is not addressed, it's still no good :P
 
Awesome! I will be installing this at some point. Its already downloaded, extracted, and ready to go!
 
You know, it would also be great if we could also use the XMB waves with the theme! is there anyway to do this alba?

Just go in Theme Settings > Background (Select Original) and done.
you can change brightness option to make the waves lighter or darker, it's simple really :P

I thought most people figured this out and played around with these settings already :D

I know what you mean - the PSN icon is pretty awful when small and shaded. Hopefully they will let that be altered soon.

I'll tell you what though, the background you made with the top-view of the white F430 and the swirley background works PERFECTLY with this theme. The red you can see in the engine bay matches with the red on your icons. The only problem with it was, the car was too bright. However, now you can adjust the brightness, I've knocked it down a couple of notches so while the car is now off-white, at least you can see the white font on the XMB.

Honestly, give it a go and see what you think. I'm using that background from now on! Maybe you could include it in the package for others to use?
 
It's far from done anyways! Hopefully sony address more firmware with more editing options so we can add even more things, i wish i could redesign messages menus, options buttons and that kind of things!

Only time will tell and yes, I'm going to make new backgrounds over time don't worry :)

I did a few actually. This one is the want you're talking about, this is the same with some XMB overlay crap and this is another one.
Just as a reminder, I made those one first in 720p (as my TV is a 720p one) and i upscaled them in 1080p, hopefully everything is still working properly :P

I've done a few others if you care... (but then again it was early stuff so the brightness might be ****ed in all of them :P)
MGS4 (720p) - UT3 (720p) - God of War (1080p)

I think I might work on a MGS4 Theme next or something... (i've got a few cool ideas for the icons :P)

You are welcome, i'll have some updates coming up soon and I might even include another background... don't know just yet. I uploaded the theme on PSU like two days ago and it's at 6k+ downloads so it's a good start :P

Within the *.rar is changelog.txt that (for this release) reads as follows:

                   - Changed the notification image to something darker and simple
                   - Changed the download icon to make it look better
                   - Added various account images
                   - SD background is logos-less unless i fix it properly on my SDtv

The file is small enough to download and check if you really must know what's changed, though I don't think it would hurt if this same information were included in the first post along with the notice of a new release.

Will install this as soon as the Hawaii/Boise St. game is over.

Congratulations Alba! You did an excellent job not only because the design looks very neat and well created, but in this whole forum, you're the only one to have put so much work in something that is going to be shared with people you don't even know. Many kudos for you and I hope you're the one to start a trend of many members creating superb themes like these.

I still have a good old pal-tv and since I'm a GT-fan I've got this theme, but the background's resolution is to high to fit, could you post a background with a lower resolution for pal screens with the next release?
and for the rest, keep up the good work, this theme is at least as good as the original one
 
It would help me guys if you have any issues happening only to you, just pm me on this forum or email me with more infos and such so I can gather all that and fix them at the same time in the next update :)

Gotta edit the first page with the changelog now!
