Update 1.07

At least, at the very least, 75% of the people on the Photomode section bought GT6, just for photomode. I did. Couldn't care less about the physics or sounds or racing, just the photography aspect as there's no other game out there that did or does, what GT5 and GT4 did. There's a huge fanbase for Gran turismo just for it, and the reason I get so pissed each update with a lack of update to that feature, is because it's been so neutered and ruined, it's not even any fun to use anymore. There's 5 locations, compared to GT5's 13, that were much more interactive and scenic, where as GT6's, Gemasolar and the Arts and Sciences are the only haflway decent ones to shoot at. Syracuse is bland and empty, as well as Ronda, and having 2 cars available doesn't make up for it.

Race photomode wouldn't be that bad either, if they just didn't decide to make the quality worse than GT5's with a horrible blur rendering system, that leaves color abbreviation and hard outlines of what's supposed to be smooth.

But if they would just add in these various scenes and effects that are obviously rendered in game, like the pitboxes and such, it'd start making it better and more fun to use, rather than it being a chore now to find a way to mask and hide the errors and use the most boring photo scenes in the series.

Thanks for clarifying. I've never noticed any of these issues when using Photomode so I'm ignorant of them. But I only use it for taking race action photos and for me it does that just fine. I guess if you bought the game just to take pics then these issues would be frustrating. 👍

Hmm 900+mb for this not verry exciting update for me. Now where's the Senna time trial? I don't care about a videos want to play gt6. Also when will they release bspec mode.after getting platinum I've hardly touched this game.

<snip>
Edit: @GBO Possum either those pics or your game are a bit too dark

I totally agree. And that's despite having raised the EV quite a few notches. On-screen, they looked rather dark.

It may be because I chose to shortcut the transfer of the images by using the Elgato screen capture device and software. I do have the images in my image library, so I'll see if the game version of the photos is as dark. I hope not.

Yeah I agree it's an improvement, but PD can be so infuriating! I'm assuming they added the lights in the first place for realism, but they keep the big the huge 'start' graphic and arcade starting sounds!

I know that everyone wants something different from this game, for me personally its realism and immersion that I crave...please PD, at least give us options, options and more options!
Agree completely. To save messing around with all the options, what it really needs is a one click "Hard Core" option that turns on all the harder settings and turns off all the "arcady" bits. We can only hope.

For that Endurance setting, hopefully I can get some people to do a 2.5 - 3 hour race. I wish fuel lasted more realistically though. The Z4 GT3 should be able to go an hour on a tank. (it does in iRacing at least)

Senna's content is due may 27th, but I bet my 2 cents that it is included in this very update (it's nearly 1Gb, F'God sake!). On the 27th it will be unlocked by any small key update.

out of interest, there was talk about the game being 30gb or so in size? was this from the disc total or with future content downloads as well? if so how many gb is the game sitting at now?

The update weights 900+ MB and when we are booting the game we see only a new car and some new seasonals... IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!
It cannot be... I'm 100% sure that something more special is hidden under this update.

As a keen GT5/6 photomode user myself I agree completely with you @gtuned and I can feel your pain. :grumpy:

However since the majority of GT6 users still purchased it for the "Real Driving (Racing) Simulator" I can see why PD should (and need) to concentrate on fixing and adding to the core elements of the game before turning to the other additional sections - photomode etc. (I'd love even a pre-release course maker though)

If they were to concentrate on the "lesser" parts of the game (which they sometimes do!) they are going to lose their main fan base and hence sales. If that happens GT7 could be full of just us photographers - The Real Picture Taking Simulator :D

But saying all this, like you mentioned, they had it nearly right in GT5!!

The 2 videos itself, are rendered in 1080p and high bitrate. Probably around 300-450MB just for the videos.

Even with that, there's more inside... They probably changed a lot of stuff in the core of the game and/or are already implementing the files for something bigger that is coming.

cheers squach :) so on that basis with the remaining vgt cars all being around a gig in size would take it to around 30gb total

No this current update contains much more than one car so your math is flawed.

By that logic all 445 premium cars, of which 99% of them have interiors (The VGTs and two other dealership machines lack them) would make for a monstrous game that wouldn't fit on a Blu-Ray disc.

aiii true :) i was just working off a basis that every big remaining game update would contain 1 remaining vgt car, so the rest of the big updates and cars would come in around that total, plus then anything else they decide they want us to have.
i was mainly trying to work out where the 30gb game size came from, if we are only at 13gb at the moment, we only have around 48% of intended total hard drive space allocated so far :s

thats what i couldnt work out, so was trying to sus out how much was left to come :)

The senna content is in with this patch however it is "hidden" until a ninja update on the 27th.

Maybe you shouldn't all get to exited. It could it be that the 900+ mb is not all additional content? Perhaps a lot of it is just patching the game data itself and that's why it takes longer than usual to install and update.

Isn't fuel consumption something you can set online after this update? I know tyre life can be set.

Off, normal, fast and Pirelli are the current options I think, but I wish that the fuel on normal reacted more to how you drive, should still last way longer. I am not happy with the tire model, as constantly pegging fast laps like people do in GT6 should kill the tires in a matter of laps, but we can do that for a 10-20 lap stint in GT6.

What happened to that course creator teaser awhile ago? Man, I wish they wouldn't show that stuff until it is definitely going to come out.

I believe my digital versions weigh in at over 15gb. And as others have stated, a good chunk of this 900mb update is likely the two HD videos.

Regardless, at this rate it will be 2024 until we have all the VGT cars, one every six months. They likely will have figured out how to reduce the file sizes by then. 👍

Its those frigging HD videos that bloat the patch up to ~1000 mb. I hate that they waste my disk space for some VGT video, that I may watch once. Just put it on youtube.

19 Gb for digital version now, people with 20 Gb slim models are doomed.

Yep, and the slideshow gets put on a website NOT ingame...

There is problem or bug if handling is different before and after pitstop when environmental setup is same, full tank etc..
You don't need any audio to confirm this bug.

Start of race, cold tires (assuming they're implying parade lap, and wait on starting line cooled off the tires?)... after pit stop you get pre-warmed tires. Assuming you're using a car that does not generate heat on all the tires equally, this would definitely have an effect on times between the two.

Off, normal, fast and Pirelli

I lul'd

Can someone explain this bug to me? I have not yet encountered it. Although I do not do a whole lot of pics here.

Sure. If you go to the top parts of Mt Panorama in a replay, go to Photomode. Around Skyline to the Dipper is a good test. Maybe other places as well.

Then just take some photos, pan around a bit, fiddle with your camera settings, frame up some subject material a few times, and if the bug strikes, your game will lock up. The PS button still works, so you can quit the game.

This posting below may explain more. I made a short video to show it happening.
