Update 1.10 Install error

Spent all afternoon with my nephews visiting from out of town dicking around with this...:banghead:
Game won't even load while offline. I would love to spend another five hours figuring this out but my nephews are rebelling.
The download initially was flaky regarding download time, it was fluctuating between 10 and 90 minutes. After about 10-15 minutes or so the install started, and again it was flaky (10-90 minutes expected time), keeps crashing after about 10 minutes and roughly 15% complete. Tried many times...
I've tried cleaning the system cache and all the other basic stuff, but am not interested in reformatting my whole HD or trashing my entire prefs just for this game.

Jus
t want to play the game at this point, update or no. Any suggestions on cleaning the defective install so the game will at least fire up while offline?

Suggestions other than "ethernet v wifi" or spending 9 hours doing disk maintenance will be appreciated!
When you said the game will not load did you have the disc already in the PS3 or did you just put it in your PS3 and it did not load ?.

Tried both ways. The initial startup comes on, then I get the Install screen. Install fails. If I try to escape the install, the game just quits and I'm back to the PS home screen. Tried turning on the machine with the disc in, tried with PS already on and put the disk in, etc.
Do you know where the download "resides" before it is actually installed? I would like to trash that file if I could find it. If it was partially installed I'm thinking I may have to reload the entire set of updates -- the thought just occurred to me that one of my nephews may have gotten impatient and turned off the machine mid-install, which I'm sure we all would agree is a bad thing...:)

It all lives in the Game Data Utility folder.
XMB > Game > Game Data Utility.
Delete the GT6 file you find in there.
Make sure you're in the 'Game Data' and not 'Save Data' folder or else you'll lose your save.

Delete that file and start GT6 offline or cancel out of the updates download when prompted.
You'll be playing the game as it comes on the disc ... v1.00
All updates will be deleted though so to play online you will need to try the patch downloads again.

Same Problem Here

I doing delete game data, put out HDD from PS3 and connect HDD to my PC, Doing Low level Format.

then install PS3 system data and install GT6 Update once by once

but trying to install 1.10, I got a error message.

OK, power off, safe mode, checking file system and rebuild database is all done

start Install again, remaining 16minute to install, my ps3 stop accessing HDD, there a error message again and install failed

what a idiot game.

Have you check you internet connection ?. How much space is on your HDD ?. sorry for the delay.

Well, it seems everyone is succesful sooner or later, I'm still unable to get the update to install... Everything works well, all updates download and install just fine. The problem is the 1.10 upgrade... it downloads, installs. But I keep getting the in game install error message. Due to the fact that everything worked well till this patch and I'm one of many with this problem, I refuse to accept it's an internet connection failure or something outside the patch. Since GT6 is the only game I play on my PS3, it's a true dissapointment...

UPDATE: My time has come... I have successfully installed all upgrades and am playing the game. Pitty I missed out on 2 GT Vision Seasonals, had to buy the cars for 1M each...

Yes, check my internet connction is all done.

I try to install on wireless connection(NAT2, UPnP Available) and wired connection(NAT1, UPnP not available).

1.00 to 1.09 update working perfectly.

but both of all, 1.10 update install process. My GT6 always give me error message.

My HDD free Space is 400gb(500gb hdd and only install GT6 game data).

PS3 is japanese model CECH-3000A, GT6 is Asia ver. sale for republic of korea(I live in South Korea).

I Think It's a HDD problem or connection problem. thank you.

I was having the same issue, I updated to 1.06, cancelled the rest of the updated.. started GT6.. and then restarted the rest of the updates (via ethernet). I had no problem after that. Give that a shot...

Hiya there sorry it took a while to reply but I wanted to be reasonably sure.

I did try again, got the same error message, but I went and started the game anyway to my surprise it started no problems, been playing it since, also with no problems. it shows the latest version at the top of the screen.

I wonder if the error message itself is an error ?

I have this problem too, I live like Nitro in the Netherlands and also happens in Emmen. I myself have this same problem too and he keeps saying, 'Turn the system off while the HDD access indicator is flashing,' '
Fairly obnoxious,'ve now tried to do it again almost 25 times, and this does not work, searched the internet and not found an answer,

Sorry for my english, unfortunately I can own only a little English, so I use Google Translate.

I am having so much trouble with this. I just got the game and put it in first time and it says preparing updates. starts intalling and says som crazy number 330 mins I think. gets down to 100 then goes back up then down again. i cant play at all. I have searched all the forums and tried multiple ways to fix it and nothing still. even tried playing off line. someone help me before I break this thing!

Ok, I'm currently working through this as I'm typing this. I upgraded my hdd to 750g, and didn't back up first (had a Blu Ray failure, and defaulting the system was one option as I was trying to figure it out). I basically started from scratch. So, every time I tried to load gt6, it was trying to load all of the updates at once. Failed every time.
I ended up having to start the game, wait as it began downloading the updates, them after one downloaded and installed, backed out, turned off the network connection, restart the game, don't log back in yet as it asks, then when the game starts, the update will be there. Then exit the game and repeat the proceed for the next update, turning your network back on and re launching the game. Stop after the next one installs when it begins to download the next. Time consuming, but it seems to work.

Have fun

Update:
As I began installing the update after the one with the senna tribute, 1.08 I think, it began the whole freezing up and stopping thing. I think it may be a download thing causing issues with the install, but to delete the data would mean starting over. Any one for a fix for this?

So basically this is a broken game now???...this is what I am getting from over the past two months of likely fixes that do not work out for anyone. It appears that Master Kazunori's vision has finally exceeded the PS3. I mean, the game is fantastic and the visuals on the new tracks look just as good as current PS4 games ( I expect that to change within the next year though). Overall I don't care how its done I just need to play some dang GT6! For some reason the combination of Jazz music and Drifting is extremely satisfying.

I'm having all of the symptoms that everyone else has been having. Hour long downloads of update files, then failed installations after the game starts.

Don't worry my friend, we are all going through withdraws here. I wanna smash this thing as well. I have a PS4 but I keep coming back to my PS3/GT6 because of how awesome online mode is. Maybe Polyphony Digital will come out with a fix in the next few weeks/ months?????

When you said to delete the data would mean starting over, which one do you mean the game data or the save game data ?.

How'd you do it? I've done everything listed in this Forum MANY times over. Havn't played in months. Only game I really play. Itchin to get back in so bad that I deleated ALL memory, reformatted and still didn't work. Someone come up with a cure PLEASE.

Update: Man dies of old age trying to get game updated! From 5-12:30 was going through each update one by one. I think I ironed everything in the house while monitoring. 1.07 was the one that got me. Loaded to system but would not load t game. What do you do then? I pressed on to 1.08 and that froze. Left it on overnight just in case, got up this morning to find it at 15%. Do I go back and start from scratch? How do I avoid getting stuck?

Have you done this, To avoid this issue, please accept to download the Update by selecting [OK] within 2 seconds of its appearance on screen when prompted. This will update the game properly.

Okay new problems. JOY! I now have a "Corrupted" file in my "Game Data Utility" that will not deleat. Upon starting my .5sec start to each upload I was noticing that 1-4 loaded and installed to the system, but not to the game (went straight to game, no updating took place). BUT when five loaded and installed to system, it froze on uploading to game.

I have since deleated everything from the system (with exception to corrupt material). I am now back to SQUARE friggin one. Give me a gameplan that starts from getting rid of the "Corrupt" data (that just needs to happen). To step by flawless step to get me to the end of this long overdue "end of the road". Please.

This is a test from HELL!! Lol. Resist temptation to drown your Sony for long enough and ONE DAY maybe (with enough patience, long grueling hours, and hard work maybe......just maybe you may play this game one day.

At this point I'm willing to pay someone to do this crap for me. Here's $50 bucks Dude, just make it happen.

I did not. I wasn't fast enough to the remote when starting it. Do I have to do this to each update?
No, I do not think you have to do it on each update, and you post above and you can not delete your Game Data corrupt file, try this turn your PS3 off and then turn your PS3 on and see if you can delete your corrupt file.

Edit: Turn your PS3 off for about 40 minutes and then turn it on and see if you can delete your corrupt file.

Sorry been away, finally got it working, after who knows how many attempts only to have it freeze twice on me in the last few days! I'm starting to question if I have the patience for such a great game to have so so many almost continuous issues! I looked forward to this for ages and had a good 2months with no issues and then prob once a month something screws it! (I pre ordered it so have had from day1) and would have completed it too if not for 2!!! Resets to get it working. :(
