I took a Veyron onto the Top Gear track, before the update I was able to take the corners well, now the car slides around corners on racing softs - this did not happen before.

In a straight drag with ABS and brakes set to 10, I was able to brake before hitting the walls by using both brake and hand-brake - now, I slam into the walls.

At one end of the drag strip there are painted lines like a zebra crossing, just before this is where I start to brake hard and I used to be able to pull up before hitting, or tapping the wall. Now, brake and handbrake equals a significant spin and crumpled bumpers.

Oh no, the handbrake actually WORKS like a handbrake now..??:nervous:

:mischievous:

Is it just me, or have the jaggies produced from tyre smoke improved significantly? I just took a look at the smoke while drifting my Lexus IS-F through cockpit view and the lines across the rear window were all clear and unaffected by the tyre smoke.

I'm in the Items menu... You can see the Racing Suits and Racing Helmets (in separate folders of course... They look amazing) And They Can Be Traded...

Current Daily Sending Limit Unknown (to me anyway so forgive me if i'm wrong) but here is how much i sent...
8 Helmets...
8 Racing Suits...

When you click on the Profile tab you can now see your B-Spec drivers upper Body (in a Casual pose with their arms folded) so you can see what suit they have on... If you click on one of them you will see a 3d model of your driver standing up and turning in a anti-clockwise direction (just like the cars)...

When you click on your profile picture your driver turns and looks just like your B-Spec Drivers in the same standing up position, with the new options to
"Take a Profile Picture"(of your driver)
"Change Outfit Randomly"
"Change Outfit"
At the bottom with the close button.

Try it again. Report back. Not that many people are on around this time of day/night.
Pretty please.

Has this update done something weird to the game?

I just did the Supercar Festival in the seasonals with a Veyron. The last time I did this before the update, I was on the verge of lapping the last three cars by the 5th lap.

This time, I am at the 5th lap and I am fighting to keep in first place. I have checked other events, and it is the same story - where I would be leading with 10 to 15 seconds, I am now just in front.

Didn't people want it to be more difficult? But good catch. We'll get more feedback in some hours.

Just won the 111R at Tsukuba and won two more suits, two more helmets and a Level 22 ticket :D

Prob wont do the Subaru one (third of the series) for a while because I don't have that car yet and I like to test out cars before I use them in events so that is something for me to do.

Only thing I probably like is the photo thing.able to switch on lights beams etc, tyre left right position for shoots.to me this ain't a major update..mid race save in endur not available still.only for championships which we had won ages ago.hope next update would be for the endur..

That was a option since the game was released version 1.00.

Just tried my Subaru Impreza Sedan '10, same thing, the lines across the rear window seem unaffected by the smoke, unlike last time. I'll try taking a photo and uploading it, seems promising so far! :)

Prizes for online events and a better AI is already good for me, and it significantly increases the game's life cycle. As long as updates like this one keep coming till GT6, i'll be happy with the game :)

Those AIs are now blocking the X1 on Indy event, lol

I think it is related with the higher reward on seasonal event.
Cut the grinding, and do the seasonal

Prizes for online events strikes me as a much bigger deal now than it did when I first read it. Yes, this really does help extend the life of the game better than mere credits.

The Subaru one is pretty hard.

And if you're a guest. Why not join?

Hahaha 115 lurkers right now...

Downloading update as I type this. 35% at the moment. Now to make sure I read that right, the seasonal events are the ones with triple the credits right? and I'm sorry if it has been said but didn't really feel like flipping through the pages.

I figured one of the 75 members watching this thread may be able to answer.

So what is the difference with the GT5 update if you update your ps3 software to 3.65? My PS3 software version is still 3.61 or whatever version before the 3.65. Someone answer this please?

The PS3 update doesn't matter if you download it or not. You can still go on playing anything. I forgot what it contains but nothing at all pretty much or I would have remembered 👍

The A.I. is less chicken and faster around the corners now.

I noticed right away when I did an arcade race, where in the past I could pick any car on one of my own tracks and easily pass all the other cars, but now they actually give you a run for your money. The first race I did the guy in first place I couldn't hope to catch up to while the guy in third kept trying to pass me and I was driving no different than I did in the past.

So this is a BIG improvement for me.

just saw the stigs helmet in the main menu background, probably able to get that... I can imagine the trading value of that lol.

Well at least it gives us something fun to keep carrying on

i have to say there is a huge difference in the damage modelling final game compared to best buy demo prior to launch. when kazunori said he'd like another 2 years i dont doubt him.

when a game goes through sony to be released, the beta stage should have caught all of these bugs, everything graphical, not functioning correctly, UI, navigation etc... i think the game released early at sonys request to hit the shelves. finished or not.

in spite of the bugs/ issues with gt. theres still time to amend the issues. i think the best thing the gt community can do is support PD in what there doing, but also be vocal in a specific forum with clear concise things that the community want as a whole.

i personally think the damage needs the most attention as well as the weather being added to ALL tracks, also the track generator...great idea just needs to be pushed more.

Another thing I like is the summer sale new cars.bought chev cam lm,Judd car which I've always liked. Btu the way are half prized cars tradable?

I think PD might have lessened the damage model because it looked a little "funky" in the demos. Kaz said it isn't difficult to implement visual damage, but it's difficult to implement GOOD mechanical damage. The proper mechanical damage that hurts the car. But yes, a good visual damage model would be appreciated. It very well could be because of the car manufacturers, though. The WRC cars have a brilliant damage model. The production cars have lesser damage models.

But, I have to say it. Visual damage isn't everything. And it really shouldn't be their top priority. Only because visual damage doesn't really affect anything. Just aerodynamics somewhat.

Haha, I had a great moment a few seconds ago.

Installed the patch, started the game and at the pre-menu there was playing the new background video with my driver walking through a lot of helmets and suits......and in the background, Iggy Pop sang "Real Wild Child" (is in my playlist of BGM).

That was so much fun to watch

Fresh from the game. I'm not so sure if its improved anymore, honestly. But it looked WAY better than before in game.
