-Allow us to change wheels on Standard cars. Recycle the wheels from GT4 if you have to!
-Allow us to change the wheels on the Ferrari F430 '06 and Mercedes 300SL Coupe '54.

That's all I want, and it's not that hard to program some aftermarket wheels into GT Auto for those cars!

Recently, I have to agree. Weeks ago, I could care less about changing wheels on standard cars.

Then I found some really sweet Standard cars, with perhaps the ugliest rims on the planet. Changing them would be awesome, but as far as priorities go, probably not high on the list.

Definitely something to think about for GT6 though.... PD... !!!

Yes, wheel change on standard cars is good. Second, you never know with PD, they might add things, and then take them away. If we compare gt5 with gt4, gt5 miss many things. its like gt5 is a degrading game some how. Even gt4 lacked things that was supposed to be "in", like the online mode.

No its not hard to program them into GT auto BUT very time consuming to model every standard car with every wheel to cover all the options, lets see 800 standard cars and say 20 different wheel options thats around 16,000 models to work on. People dont think about that.

And they don't wonder about 800 standards and details to work on if you want bumpers hanging off every car...

GT5 is nothing more than the building blocks for 6, much like GT3 was the foundation for 4, and why GTA releases sequels before specials (i.e. San Andreas was built on GTA3, as was Vice City).

PD is listening, and they've still got plenty of time to find new things for us to complain about. Rest assured they are listening, though.

They allreaddy had the wheels from gt4, why not implement the wheels from gt4 along with the car models, that are used? They didnt remodeled the 800 cars, they just "upgraded" them what ever that means. As far as i know the wheels are separated from the car body, and the measurements from gt4 is the same as in gt5, since no additional standard cars was added. Cant understand why they didnt impelement all features that the standard cars had in gt4, like rims, that was modeled long time ago.

Okay, All i want is new Photomode stuff. The Locked locations that you see in the main menu, and Standards in Photomode. And new cars to shoot, so if I get that I'll be happy.

this 👍

plus the "studio" location we see when we buy a car, damn, it's already there!

Or the architects white city shown on the demo. That'd be awesome!

sure, that looks great too! but I'm not hoping for something that cool, I actually believe they're going to make trading even harder....
(this way, I'm happy with anything they throw at us :))

actually you model 1 wheel, it gets scaled for size and it works on all vehicles that it fits the specs for.

granted you have all the different types of wheels to model but that would only be a hundred to hundred fifty maybe.

What I'd like to see in the next update:
- leveling of the physics system off-line and on-line with tire wear and fuel consumption being a part of, or at least an option, off line.
- More sophisticated and balanced tire modeling with shorter life for soft tires and longer life for hard tires.
- A fix or slider scale to adjust the slipstream to a more realistic level.
- FFWD and RRWD controls for replays.
- Save option for endurance races.
- A completely rewritten algorithm for the AI where they're actually competitive, don't brake 50m too early, don't brake mid-apex, they fight for position but don't close the door on you when you're ALREADY up along side them. And for goodness sakes, just make them FASTER! They're slow as molasses! Frankly ALL of the offline events and seasonal events aren't worth running unless you take a car that's 50~100pp less than the competition!
- A fix for the AI where they understand the difference between lapped cars and cars passing for position.
- A more sophisticated visual damage model with a much lower threshold. Smacking a wall head on at >30 kmh should do some serious damage. Smacking a wall head on at > 100 kmh should pretty much destroy the car.
- All tracks should have the ability to change time and add variable weather conditions, both online and offline.
- A revision to the course editor where we (1) actually have some control over the track and (2) they get rid of the horrible notion of corner over crest at every opportunity.
- A fix for online races where lapped cars finish their race the NEXT time they cross the finish line after the leader.
- A proper practice and qualifying system for off-line races.
- Monthly updates with 1 track and 5 cars, which will continue for the next 12~18 months until we have (a) Spa, Imola, Road America, Silverstone, Hockenheim, Mugello, Bathurst, Mont-Tremblant, Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, Road Atlanta, etc, among others, and (b) many missing and desired premium cars, including premium versions of ALL LMP cars in the game, while adding, all classic Ferraris from Ferrari Challenge, as well as all current and past DTM and many FIA GT cars.
- an 'invite' system to the lobby.
- A spectator mode that can host up to 32 players. (I know, probably the most unrealistic of all requests).
- A fix to take away the time penalty for shifting with the H-pattern shifter using the G25/G27.
- A customized leaderboard system similar to Shift2 where you can set parameters and have anybody on your friend list participate.
- General leaderboards with 'stock' cars.
- Cars should actually, you know, get dirty during a long race. And ahh, STAY dirty until we wash them.
- A few general tweaks to the physics model at lower speeds and at times when the wheels and tires leave the ground.
I would pay for this. :D

True. Just porting the whole GT4 used rims change method would already be great. It can even be a separated GT Auto if that makes it any easier. Used parts or something. Damn, another cool idea. lol

I loved how I could past hours and hours going in and out from GT4 GT Auto just waiting for the right rim to appear.

Steelies on a lot of cars = AWESOMENESS.

Being able to put M5 rims on M3s and vice-versa = AWESOMENESS

i wish next update comes at a better time...0300???...i want to sleep.

I'm in the same boat. My boss will hate.

Not that this works as a defense for PD, as it makes it EVEN more annoying that they didn't do this, but you don't have to model every car with every wheel. Your just model all the car bodies and all the wheels separately, no need for all 16,000 combinations. When the game displays a car it's pulling a separate body model and wheel model and just displaying them together. There is no reason for them to not simply take all the wheels from GT4 and plop them in GT5.

Not switching wheels on standard cars was simply a decision they made that maybe saved a bit of programming.

each wheel would have a locator at the center pivot of the tyre, each rim would be constrained to that locator. only one rim would need to be modelled the rest would be redrawn with code id imagine... seems illogical to model 4 rims when there the same rim. and position them separately for each car when it could be done with code.

Ah. Junior Cert exams start tomorrow.:ouch: . Ah well, it will be some weekend when it's finished. I think all-night switching between Black Ops with friends and GT5 with GTP friends.:D

point to point track editor like the website. bit more customisation also like elevation, standing start rolling start (its all being hinted at...the racing customisation), multiple car setups. improved damage like best buy version prior to gt5 release. seattle, midfield and complex string.... or a few more the same standard of trial mountain/ monaco.

Yep... you said it all.

They mentioned point to point tracks... DO WANT.

GT3 was done with 1 wheel model attached to four points like you say, and you could alter some of the demensions and attachment points with 3rd party Hex editing tools. I would think GT4 used the same method of attachment.

I rather wait for gt6 than stress it. PD has tremendeous work to do with gt5, most of the things that we were expected werent in game, quite strange uh?

To a degree. There were several features I would've loved (license plate/livery editor) that were hinted at, but at the same time there are a lot of things in this game I wasn't expecting. Seasonal events and Remote Racing have more than made up for the lost Youtube feature, although I know many will disagree.

Again, your mileage may vary.

With GT5, as well as life, you get what you put in. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at PD to see what else they're working on, and I'm glad they've continued to support GT5 like they did Prologue.

I'm also thankful that we don't know most of the features that were intended to be in but cut at the last moment. I'm sure there would be atleast 20 threads per feature complaining about it, just like I'm sure there will be a few people upset about tonight's update.

Given the quake, tsunami, and hacks, I feel fortunate and thankful that PD is still supporting it's fans and this game, and I look forward to whatever else they have in store.

The corporation need us, thats it. I mean, information spreads faster and faster,m people arent ignorant no more, they know what to expect from a game.

The lack of any kind of pre-update release notes is kind of fun. It's like waiting until Christmas morning and opening your big present, either to find something really special or something you would never want at all :D

Kaz has been quoted as saying that he likes everything to be a little hush hush, so it's exactly like you said, opening a gift on christmas. Can't say I blame him.

Well, when I was a child I used to hate when I earned socks as xmas gifts.

Now that I'm an adult and I have to buy my own socks, I miss them.

What the hell am I talking about? :scared: Yeah, I'm a bit anxious. It's xmas eve anyway.

If you guys remember, GT5:P's servers were taken offline on June 2nd, I believe. This might be used for leaderboards. (Just an idea)

EDIT: I now saw that the servers were being taken down the 30th, sorry.

I'm probably the only one who wants this but I hope they squeeze in the ability to upload replays to youtube like they promised at E3 or at least include a way to save them into the HDD like MLB 11.:)
