That's probably due to being online a few days straight after each other, I found that when I went online each day the amount of paints and museum cards I got went up to 10 max but once I skipped a day it was back to 5.
This isn't a current thing though as it's already been this way for a while and therefor not related to the update.

I'm trying not to get enthusiastic about the update since I haven't been that excited about any of the others so far.

I guess thunderstorms that made it impossible to use electronics and a free copy of Little big planet made me notice it when I returned to GT5, since I apparently didn't before.

Well, as far as i know, drag racing is common by all people, since we living in a globalized world. Just look at ssr7 and indy road course tracks, there are some times very huge ammout of "drag servers". It would be cool with 1/4 mile track, and a 1-2 mile drag strip for top speed run.
Depending on what the time is (time zone) its verry common to se both US hosted rooms, and rooms hosted by european people like, UK, germany, spain, netherlands etc. I have also seen a bunch of japanese people drag racing, not to mention people from saudi arabia, kuwait, UAE, etc. So the interest for both 1/4 mile and 2 mile drag is huge.
The "free" run open lobbys are also great, because then you can just drive around, racing, tuning, chatting, etc in a relaxed enviorment. Plus, you meet many different people. Thats what i missed in forza 3, the online play was to limited. Dedicated servers, well maybe for those who like racing for real and have limitations, but not to the expence of open lobbys, as mentioned earlyer.

Here, here brother. I live out over here in Az as well and am trying to hold anticipation too. It is quite hard though. I have high hopes for any kind of update at this point, it has been so long, lol.
