Update 1.13 is here, fixes sound/crashing bugs

'average' and 'almost' are not very convincing. And PD never said one per month. That was a Sony US employee so involved with the development he works on a different continent.

No, the "average" and "almost" comments were from Kaz himself during a Reddit AMA. You can see how people could get their hopes up based on those statements though. But when you take into account the other two lies it makes you wonder why people still believe it.

MCHami: I've not encountered the game stalling at the warning screen. . . so far, at least. I can't say that it won't happen to me though as I'm having issues since the update.

So far, every time that I attempt to run the ib GT Kart Championship 125 series. The game freezes the system on the countdown for the first race. First time it was on 2, second time it was on 3 of the countdown. Getting tired of the file system check screen due to GT6. I'm glad I took someone's advice and only rented this game.

And this time it froze before the countdown even started. I see my cart, but it didn't even get to the countdown. Good job, PD. This will definitely be the only GT game that I will never purchase. 👎 :grumpy:

Hey man I could not agree more, with GT5 on any given night I had at LEAST 15 to 25 friends online playing GT5, last night only 3 playing and not even online in a lobby. I feel like with all the issues, lack of new content and PS4 and games like Pcars, GTA5 and DriveClub releasing, I think PD might be a day late and a dollar short. Now with the course creator, new "real" cars, real life tracks, GPS course creator and community features might bring some back to play but I feel they are going to be short lived as after a day or so they will be running back to the better graphics and new released games for the PS4. Sad really. I look for a room to join and it's either drag on Indy, drift, car shows/cruising, thousand horsepower racing soft rooms, or rooms with only two or three people in them. Sad really. I remember GT5 sometimes rooms use to be so full that you used to have to wait until someone leaves or write a message to your friend host to kick somebody so you can join,. Sometimes with GT6 you be lucky if you don't get disconnected with a room of six people. Sad really.

Ahh, I remember those days well, both as a host and as someone trying to get into a room......those where the days, great memories and good times. 👍 Now, not so much. 👎

Guys, you assume too much. Just because they released a (completely necessary) update that had no extra content, does that mean we're not getting another one this month? Has PD said we're not getting anything? No. You can complain on November 1st.
Yeah, this 1.13 was just a fix for the problems we got with 1.12, not one of the ''real'' patch.
I don't understand people saying like ''if this was a fix why isn't named 1.12.1'' call it as you want but IT'S just a fix from problems that NO ONE was expecting with 1.12, of course this is an extra thing. I mean, ok people doesn't believe in pd too much, but something like "yeah this is 1.12 lot a great stuff but also a nice bit of bugs that we know are there but we want you guys to enjoy them for a few days, then you will get 1.13 and see you in november with 1.14'' dosn't make any sense.

The issue for specific recurring problems like this is from failing access to the correct files.
Be that through failing to read it from the disc or corrupt game/update data.

Considering the vast majority don't have the same issue regarding loading that specific event, it can only be assumed the problem is local ... eg. with your personal game data.

Not sure if new but seems as if the tach on the BMW 1 Series is broken and it doesn't correctly display RPM and it stops at 7k. Still enjoying the game, tuning loads more GT2/3 level cars. Have only come across a stalled load once and that was at the initial load up of the game which I can attribute to launching from within another game I was already playing on PS3. I've never had it before though. All I can say is PS3 is quaking in it's boots at the amount of data PD wants the machine to shuffle around for GT6. I'm still awaiting that community update though as I feel like that will give me ability to choose race series. Right now I am still upset that I cannot select my opponents and standing start of 2x rolling start for races in Arcade mode.

It's rare for people to have problems from updates that don't affect the vast majority of players. It's usually a combination of your data set on your machine with how the data from the update is sorted upon install. Check your machine first, ensure that your file system and directories are in order. Also of note randomly your PS3 will spew up some corrupted data out of the blue. Had this happen yesterday out of the blue, just random corrupt game file for some game that I have no idea of as it was pretty far down the list. So remember some issues are pretty much local and not necessarily with the update itself. Although the updates can cause issues to arise based on how it is installed because of faulty instructions that would be fine on a clear system but cause issues on a not so clear system.

It did turn out to be data corruption. I spent the 3 hours+ to reinstall/update it from scratch and I was able to run the Kart races. Seeing how 🤬 long it takes, the game should check to make sure that it's installed correctly, and fix the corrupted file or files individually instead of me having to do it all over from scratch.

Sorry, but there's no damned excuse for me having to spend 3-4 hours installing and updating a single game, only to have it not do it's only job correctly. It's bad enough I had to wait that long to play the game in the first place. I've only had this game since Monday. It's a rental and it's wasted a good chunk of my rental period with its glitches and crashes and having to wait hours twice now just to play.

And before someone decides to blame my "old" system or hard drive, this a brand new 500gig model that was purchased in January. It came packaged with GTAV.

Edited to add: It is currently doing the loading limbo glitch, even after the fresh install.

Edited again to add: The loading limbo glitch also caused my system to lock up after I backed out with the O button. I had to manually unplug the power to get the system to turn off and turn on. I've not had any problem like this with any other game. My system is fairly new. I'm done with this game. It's potentially harming my system.

Not sure what sort of insane issues you're having but my PS3 is a 3rd Gen system and it's about 6 years old running on the it's original 160GB HDD and I have never had anything like you're having. Who said anything about excuse, why is it I have no problems installing updates, no system lock ups like yours aside from that jumping from another actively loaded game directly in to GT6, which I do a lot. Your GT6 system always checks the validity of files before firing up, if there is something wrong with your system itself it could be causing the errors. It's not with the update as I would be having the issue as well and I assure I am not. I am actually playing the game right now and still tuning and running races on Sierra.
Your system either has a faulty SPU which could be fine for games that aren't demanding but wreak havoc when you fire up a game that pushes your PS3 to the edge. Could be a faulty sector in your HDD, could be a myriad of things causing it, but you can bet that it isn't the update itself doing it. Everyone else would be having your issues, worse yet you have a new console and are experiencing this, could be a faulty system simple as that.

If a PS3 locks up, you are always able to turn it off by either using the power switch, pulling the plug? If the power switch doesn't work and you are required to pull the plug then something is woefully wrong with your console that this update had nothing to do with. Sorry to hear about your issues but I suggest checking the disc you rented?!? Then letting your system do a rebuild, which it normally does if you ever turn it off by unplugging and not using the software power off. Also if your PS3 takes a while doing the HDD check and rebuild then you have a crappy HDD which will die soon anyway. Check all avenues before blaming the update, as I said I have the same update you have and I have none of the aforementioned issues you are speaking of.

I'm very sorry to hear all the problems you're having with trying to play GT6. There is nothing wrong with the game. There is either something wrong with the disc you are trying to use, or something with your equipment. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that a rental copy of a game that's been around for 10+ months is probably scratched up pretty good. All it takes is one teeny little scratch to cause a problem, possibly. As SavageEvil pointed out, if there was something wrong with the code we would all be experiencing these issues. Or, at the very least, if there was something wrong with the updating process we would have had at least one other mention of your experiences by another user. That just hasn't happened. I understand that your equipment is fairly new. Unfortunately, the world is far from perfect and even a system that is 1 day old can potentially have a problem. It might not affect any of your other games because maybe those HDD sectors were never written to before you installed GT6. I mean, we could get super technical and really break down the myriad potential issues going on besides "bad code", but that's not going to help you resolve anything with GT6. It's a real shame too because you're missing out on a lot of fun. GT6 is a fantastic game, in my opinion.

Good thing I was not talking about that then?... I very was very clearly talking about the one per month comment which came from a random guy in America.

No more bugs or glitches for me in the game after the 1.13 update. Can hear both tire/engine sounds and car doesn't freeze at start of race.

For the passed two days, when I race GT3 cars at Nurb F circuit offline, the tarmac disappears and sometimes it gets stuck on the Track Conditions screen. I have to Quit Game and start over. No other bugs or problems on any other tracks or game modes. Mount Panorama has been just fine by the way. Ive done plenty of offline enduros.

We have a problem still on a league races
the owner of the room stay on the strarting line
the engine is working but the car won t strart
are we the only ones to have this problem?

2 days left in October and there's no signs of an update with actual content, so I guess we should wait until next month to have something.... if there's something other than bug fixes.

I suggest we wait until SEMA to see what's up for november.

I hope they hurry up with the next update. I also hope that it will fix what 1.13 broke in my game. I have lost hundreds of driven miles on my status due to freeze's in the seasonal TT/DT. :indiff:

There will be no update this month. We'll get one just before Thanksgiving in the US.

Question: With each update, are the Goodwood display cars changing? I see the Mercedes Petronas F1 car and a classic MERCEDES Formula One car on the arches.

There was only one change, if you've not been on the forum for a while, you might not be aware that they changed the track at the same time as the festival of speed back in June/July although the only change was to the monument with the Mercedes cars. If you want to see the monument in real life, click on the link in my sig below this very post ;) VVV

Plus, if you want another change, wait until next year.

Oh yeah, a month after an actual update, guys.

I noticed that the sound (stock exhaust) of the '13 Viper GTS changed...
It had a real sounding V10 sound, and now it's something... different:confused:
