Considering the wait, are you happy with how the finished product appears to look?

Using something that's not a video game system, to create tracks for a system that plays video games?

:boggled: I think I need to just be done playing video games now. You know they're doing away with campaign/story modes in a whole bunch of video games that are coming out?

What happened to video games?

It's literally just MS Paint but as a course. Go to MSPaint, select the Curved Line tool. Drag a line. Then pull it to the angle that you want. OR, take the standard line tool, then select the Circle tool. Imagine you're pushing that line into a curve with that circle. BAM you just made course maker. Then, add an ability to add an increase elevation with say, the R2/L2 in an area that circle covers. Oh, BAM course maker. Then, you can add trees and ****. Maybe you want smaller circle for tighter corners? L1/R1 affects diameter. That's as stupidly basic as you can get it. It's can be done in freaking MSPaint, man.

Took me 2 freaking years right, I sure are a genius

It worked for Animal Crossing. Mario Paint. Lots of other stuff too but I don't remember. My point is that similar things have been done before with less advanced technology (and less budget - muuuch less budget), so this should be easy as pie.

Wow. The number of complete simplifications and assumptions crammed into this one post is astounding. Impressive.

There is a russian text everywhere, but whatever.

Green areas - forest, red - mountains, blue - city

Woo ! Woo! I understand why PoDi favored the tablet !

I wish they would release this on the Windows 10 store, why is Windows always neglected despite controlling the majority of the computer market! :ouch:

People need to take a breath. All that's been announced here has been specifically for the App. Nowhere has it been confirmed that you won't be able to use the Course Maker in-game.

GTPlanet brings you an exclusive first look at the new Course Maker companion app for Gran Turismo 6

Literally spells it out right there.

Dont care if the cheapest or the most expensive mobile phone, i dont give a .... about these new mobile devices.
I have an 7 year old SonyErisccon C510 where the battery lasts 8 days. Never changed it and happy with it.
How much the battery lasts on today phones. 1 day if you dont touch it, am i right???

Cuz they are so complicated, you cant even have a normal phone call when you press something cuz everything is on stupid touch

I know what you mean, I was late to the smartphone bandwagon, had an old nokia up until last year.

I only really use my smartphone for calls/txt/music at the moment... oh and navigation apps, that's pretty much it. I don't mess around with instagram and snapchat, it's still solely a phone to me with a few extra handy features.

The battery you are right, but I'm in car half of day for my work, so it's constantly charging anyway.

I think the PS3 would have had problems dealing with a track area that big. Might be possible on PS4 though, simply because of the massive increase in RAM.

I'm really interested about the whole city areas, like if we'll be able to design tracks that go through them or they're just for the background.

I really hope GPS does end up included because it's would be the easiest way to get a track made up of a route you drive without having to build it from scratch. Once you have the basic route covered you can then tweak it on the app.

That could be a good point, though you could probably put the same interface somehow on the PS3 instead. Only theorizing.

Or is this the area of the land?

The way I see it, I think the app was PD's Author Saving Throw (internet points to anyone who gets that reference) to say to people that yes, the course maker is actually a thing now. I think the intention was that people with the right products (i.e. a tablet) could at least fiddle around with it early and have tracks ready for when the update drops. The app is merely an alternate way of making tracks, and/or possibly opens up new ideas in the future. GPS integration springs immediately to mind.

Despite what the inevitable naysayers will argue, I really doubt PD aren't going to implement an in-game variant. Although there have been questionable inclusions that only a handful of players could really use *cough* data logger *cough*, the course maker is something that they did push massively and the leave it out of reach for so many people would be a disaster.

I'll play Devil's Advocate for a second.

What's gonna stop me from making a penis-shaped track? Or perhaps a swastika of trees? I feel like the only thing that will ruin the Course Maker is the bad eggs in the community.

I don't think you'd really see that unless you are looking down on the track or something. The penis tracks are inevitable

Go ahead and make a penis-shaped track. I bet there will be a report button. Just like on the picture share feature we have.

I use my iPhone 6 fairly regularly throughout the day. It typically needs a charge once every three days. More than happy with that considering what it's capable of compared to some decade-old flip phone.

Of course, a phone isn't of much use in this context...

Have you played Little Big Planet? A report function solves that. It's very similar to GTPlanet, really: the vast majority of the posts are good and above-AUP-board, and the bad ones get weeded out.

What I'm trying to say, of course, is that these games are just stealing our idea. :P
