Considering the wait, are you happy with how the finished product appears to look?

My reaction moments ago when I saw all of this:

I thought there was going to be a GPS function? :indiff:

But still, what is present actually sounds really cool and really promising. I'm glad it's finally here. Also glad that there's hardly any wait between announcement and being able to actually use it! I suppose it eliminates false hope.

Excellent to see that function. I'm curious how much control there is with elevation, though, as that really makes or breaks replicas.

There's also the issue of Yas being an awful track. :P

Well, there isn't an app for that

This could make it bearable though.

Wasn't a companion app part of the deal from the beginning? I recall some sort of news about it before the game even released.

Yep, sure was:

This feature, available at a later stage through an update, will allow you to create your own custom tracks that can be driven in the game. Additionally, in another update we will add the possibility to generate a track by capturing the GPS coordinate data of a mobile app while you are driving that course. These GPS-generated tracks will be available in the game as playable content.

Absolutely great to see the CM 👍 I am sûre we will see great stuff!

I don't have GT6 anymore, also my Ps3 is gone but when I want to create tracks with the app, will I be able to use them in GT7?

Yep, you can download a real map and draw over it.

Although you can draw over the map, it doesn't mean you'll be able to get the scale right quite easily.
I'm pretty sure Yas Marina doesn't have 9,5Km.
Shouldn't be hard to solve that, though, as most maps have a scale just like the one in the app.

"hahahahahahaahaha yep. sure" what? What do you mean?
You said "its gonna be useless"

NOT

You posted that and then right after they announced it, and its gonna be quite good it seems. Full control of the layout, thats what we've been looking for

I must say I am intrigued by what has been demonstrated.

Whilst I believe such a long awaited feature will not cease to satisfy, we must appreciate and understand that such a tool has been developed for what is now a much older system.

As we've come to a point in time where the product as marketed is complete, said chapter can now be closed as Gran Turismo 7 looms over the horizon.

My mouth waters at the possibilities they can add for GT7. Mixed surface tracks, larger tracks, full control over elevation changes, full control over city tracks, landmarks, etc.

yeah...that's why I said it looks like it will be better than I thought. We'll see just how much better. I still bet it'll be somewhat limited and restrictive. I mean there's lots of courses in the game already - I don't really need another dozen, hundred, thousand - none of which are any better than any of the tracks that are already in the game.
