Just saying, I'm utterly disappointed, have a Samsung tablet and seems as though it's not going to work for me. I'll put up with it/deal with it, though I'm not content at effing all. This was THEE feature for me in GT5 and 6. I'm not being dismissive of those who can't afford to buy a supported device. It's the shortsighted views that are getting on my nerves. If it were possible to release in-game, PD most certainly would have ON THE PS3. There would have only been upsides to that if it were plausible the way the course maker allows for free tracing. Too bad, so sad, I'll move on, but maybe I'll get a supported device if the CM improves over time in GT6; most likely, I'll just wait for GT7. It's a Damn Effin shame.Colour me surprised that most of the people that already have tablets (or access to them) are completely dismissive of those who are disappointed at this development.
It wasn't explained, it was guessed at. That reasoning could just as easily apply to Apple. You know, the company that basically destroyed Sony's share of the portable music industry.
Brilliant. Simply stunning.
The Course Creator was advertised as having a "companion app", not "only available on tablets". It doesn't matter if the price of ownership is the equivalent of paying for another copy of the game or not - which is its own issue - people thought they were getting one thing, and got another. Just as you're entitled to your belief that spending the money on a tablet really isn't an issue at all, so are others entitled to their disappointment with this new requirement.
...
I'm still looking forward to trying out the actual app portion tomorrow at work, but I can already tell that, for me, this won't hold my interest as much as I thought it would. Recreating tracks will be a crap-shoot - and the scenery would never really sell you on most of them anyway - so the hope is that the purely fictional tracks the community devises are what makes it worthwhile.
You know you can get and play with tracks created by other people right?Just saying, I'm utterly disappointed, have a Samsung tablet and seems as though it's not going to work for me. Any videos of tracks yet?
Finally someone else realised!Hold on. Someone posted that the app is still in the roll out phase and not yet released in some countries. Well, I can confirm that. No results in the German Play Store.
It's not all about recreating real tracks. And lets be honest here, more track variety is never a bad thing.OK fill me in. What's the point?
Oh look, someone created Tara Florio for GT6! Awesome! Of course it's only half the length...and none of the corners are accurate...and none of the elevations are right...and none of the track side objects are correct and it doesn't actually look like Targa Florio, but awesome!
It's not all about recreating real tracks. And lets be honest here, more track variety is never a bad thing.
But it's NOT more track variety if I don't actually want to drive any of the created tracks.
A preview of what we should expect in GT7 perhaps...?
Or maybe they're just testing it out. Maybe the other tracks will get this updated to them.
You mean like how better game performance doesn't matter if I don't actually want to race on the tracks you like where the poorest performance is encountered?
Yeah I do. I'd like to create my own drift tracks though. I spent tons of hours on one specifically at Tokyo Bay. Would love to have tried recreating it.You know you can get and play with tracks created by other people right?
As if creating a thread in a forum will change anything, might as well do a petition on change.org because online petitions sure give great results. For those crying for a way to create a track without a tablet, please vote here.
Ok, so why are you in here exactly? Sounds like you don't care for this feature at all. And you're still missing the point. But it's NOT more track variety if I don't actually want to drive any of the created tracks. Why would I drive a created track that has nothing to offer over one of the nice tracks that are already in the game? What is the appeal of the created tracks for you? Just a different variety of corners?
I totally agree that more track variety is always a good thing. I'd get far more enjoyment out of a single new DLC track created by PD than I will out of all the user-created tracks made with the CM...
As long as you recognize it, at least.Yes, exactly like that.
No to the first. I think no to the second either.can we create figure-8 tracks that cross on intersection?or track sections that can cause the cars to achieve lift for some prolonged amount of time?
if yes to both, I'm buying an ipad today, shame the hell on me.if no to either, pass.
can we create figure-8 tracks that cross on intersection?
That's what I'm being optimistic about. The app did just come out. Maybe we'll see improvements down the road somewhere. Hopefully they'll add weather and time change to all tracks later on? 24H for all created tracks later in game? Or you're right, maybe it's a trial run for GT7.
Is it possible to make the Mille Miglia or is that route too long?
Someone brought it up a few months ago.joking right?
why not just a windows app? Who doesnt have access to a windows machine? It doesn't have to be an app for smartphones, or tablets, or Windows... or browsers!
Why not make a webapp that works directly from the Gran Turismo Website. (The way community features work)?
I see people asking for phone, browsers and windows apps and I think... why? Or why not have both the webapp and the mobile/tablet apps...?
I didn't get a $1,000 PC just to find out this happened... Don't their computers over at PD HQ run Windows anyways?why not just a windows app? Who doesnt have access to a windows machine?
