They will probably update their GT3 and GT4 car list.
Imagine a 2nd season with exactly the same cars
I did hear, though, that it took a while to make the made-for-game Gr.3 cars like the Alfa Romeo 4C Gr.3, and as a result, they wanted to focus more on real-world race cars. With that in mind, I still think there's tons of potential in all of the major classes to introduce new cars, such as the following:
Gr.1 - It seems to me that this class is for virtually any and all prototype race cars, so I'd say there's a lot of potential here. You could potentially add other LMP1 cars, but perhaps also LMP2 racers, or even Daytona Prototypes. That last one could be a good way to have Chevrolet in Gr.1, too. There's also the factor that Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz are solely able to be within Gr.1 thanks to their respective Group C racers, so perhaps other Group C racers could represent other automakers in Gr.1, too. The ones that come to mind potentially could include Lamborghini, Lancia, and Alfa Romeo. That's before we discuss other Le Mans prototypes that may not necessarily be LMP1, like the Ferrari 333SP, the BMW V12 LMR, or the LMGTP class that featured cars like the Toyota TS020, the Bentley Speed 8, and the Mercedes-Benz CLR.
Gr.2 - It still seems unclear if this class will solely be for Super GT500 cars, or if it could potentially include modern DTM cars as well as older JGTC GT500 cars, as well. Or even FIA GT1 cars, as they have raced in Super GT500 before. (Granted, they didn't do well, so who knows.)
Gr.3 - Just by taking a look at the made-for-game Subaru WRX STI Gr.3 and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo.X Gr.3, you can tell that real-world Super GT300 cars are a likely fit for Gr.3, such as the Toyota Prius that PD was found scanning at one point. What's more is that other GT300 cars from previous games could make a re-appearance, including the Subaru BR-Z, Mazda RX-7 FD, Lexus IS350, or the ASL Garaiya. That's before we get into potential new GT300 cars, older GT300 cars from the JGTC era, the fact that a GTE car (the Porsche 911 RSR) is placed within Gr.3, and made-for-game race cars from prior GT games could fit in Gr.3, like we see with the Ford GT.
Gr.4 - There's still a few bits of potential here. The most obvious examples I can see are the Maserati GranTursimo GT4 and the KTM X-Bow GT4. I think there's also serious potential to include the new Alpine A110 GT4, too, and I think Abarth was going to have a GT4 version of the new 124 Spyder, too. Similar to what I said regarding Gr.3, I wonder how many made-for-game race cars from the GT series could fit into here? One should recall that there's the RM cars from GT5, the Touring Car pack also from GT5, but also the "LM Race Cars" from the PS2 era, like we've seen for the Jaguar XJ220 or the Chevrolet Camaro Mk.IV.
Gr.B - You may recall in some promotional vids that this class is meant to bear resemblance to the real-world Group B rally cars. Despite this, the Audi Quattro Pikes Peak remains the only real-world rally car in this class, and some automakers have yet to be represented here. What immediately comes to mind, is the various Group B rally cars from previous Gran Turismo games that could be entirely eligible for Gr.B, and could include the following: the Ford RS200, the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo II, the Audi Quattro S1 (the one that isn't Pikes Peak-spec), the Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, the Mitsubishi Starion, the Lancia Delta S4, and the Nissan 240RS. And that's just cars that'd be returning from older GT games, let alone other real-world racers like those from Daihatsu, Mazda, Ferrari, and MG, or prototypes like the Porsche 959 rally car, or the Toyota 222D. (As an aside, I'd ideally like to eventually see the road-going homologation models appear, too, either in GTS or in a future GT game.)
