I may upset some people here, but in my personal opinion, the BMW 7 series looks like an oil tanker.

And the X5 looks like a huge Brick.

Those who still want trunk space when the roof's down. ;) But I get the point....

318ti not ugly? So I guess you like the armless, a$$less look. :D

I think the Marauder, like all previous huge Mercury sedans will fail. The Mustang can't fail, obviously. The Bel Air, like the Mini, T-bird, and New Beetle, will take off originally, but fail later. The GT40 can't fail either if they produce it in the volumes they're talking about. If they actually make more than 10,000 we might have a borderline failure on our hands (odd as it sounds).

I see the Marauder as the next U.S. police cruiser; an easy replacement for the hideous Impala. Thousands will go to NYS troopers alone. As for the GT40: Ford is aiming this to be a US$100,000+ supercar. People simply don't see Ford as a maker of supercars. It's too much of a reach. This is why the NSX "failed". It's a great car, but basically it's still a Honda. Hondas are affordable first, mild performance second. The GT40 will follow suit: an excellent car for those who buy it, but only for those few.

This is also, by the way, the reason VAG and BMW are buying up super-high-end marques. If you want to reach that territory all-in-a-rush, you have to buy it. Otherwise, wait about 20-30 years. Badge means history, and while it can easily go down (Jaguar), it's extremely difficult to go up (Volkswagen).

...And, sadly, I agree on about the Mini. The American market will make or brake it, and I don't think American's "get" it.

 I love the armless assless look! :D

Hey, as long as the US police have a rear-drive car I'm fine with it, which is why I'm anti-Impala. So cheers Marauder!

Do you think people saw Ford as a supercar maker in 1964? Hell no, but I think the GT40 more than proved it . . . and I believe the NSX failed simply because it was too flawless - real supercars are dirty, loud, thirsty, and unreliable. The RL failed because it was too Honda.

I think you're right - it is easy to go down, but Volkswagen's going 'up' a lot quicker than I ever thought possible, and one man's to blame: Ferdinand Piech. He is (was) one of the more brilliant car people ever.

A certain percentage of Americans love the Mini and find it cute - problem is, once those people have got their Minis (or Beetles or Microbuses), who's left to buy it?

:bmw: 7 Series are good lookin cars I reckon, Black it out and you've got a real Mafia stylie car :D

Ah I think the :USA: Market will like the new :mini: for being so different? After all it'll make great parking in New York... :smilewink

Although apparently, it has less room in the rear than the old one (If that's possible)

Those pics make the :bmw: Z4 look even better....

Common anyone who still dislikes it, check out Bimmerkid's pics you gotta admit it is a great lookin car ? :D

Vat_Man you changed your opinions yet?

That's certainly a better angle for it, as it takes the emphasis of what I perceive as that biggest issue - the nose.

So who do you know that either owns or has owned a GT40? Like I said, a great car that no one bought (or will buy). Its true success was on the track, destroying Ferrari. You can find far more Ferrari Dino's and Jaguar E-Types than GT40's...unless it's more of a West Coast thing.

Oh I sense Vat_Man is beginning to like the :bmw: Z4.... would you be persuaded more if I told you BMW are scrapping the weak engines from the Z3... the standard model will be a 2.5 litre  and there is an :m: Model Z4 planned for the future?
